That's the best trailer for Aliens: CM, makes me even more disappointed with all the Alien movies after Aliens.....
 
4 hours into the game and i can tell that it has right climate. I like it so far

Also, quite a few games in the East European region come out as soon as the shippers have them - remember the GT5 release.

EDIT: The Clint Mansell score playing in the trailer reminds me very much of ZombieU but I suppose Clint is the master of that kind of evocative music and has been doing this stuff for years :)

Yes, I'm definitely buying this game when it will be available for on-line matches.
 
We have this pre-ordered on Wii U but will be getting it on PS3 too to see how they compare. There is also still almost two months to go before the Wii U release...

Just an update Elf. This is looking shockingly crap at the moment. May want to review your pre order status.
 
Not gonna buy it at the moment, some early reviews are surfacing and well it doesn't look too promising.
 
So it released 45 minutes ago on Steam. As a fan of Alien, Aliens and Borderlands 2 I'm keen to know if it's any good. Someone must have it, surely?
 
Interesting, according to some digging done by someone from Kotaku, Gearbox only did a small portion of the MP of the game & outsourced the rest, the overall development of the game had supposedly been equal to a train wreck. I'll try to look more into this & see if I can find more info.

Sidenote: If true, all I can state is.....good 'ol Sega......sarcasm.

Cheers for the heads up. I'm off in a few hours to pick up the PS3 copy. I thought my work would have it in and had hoped to buy it after the night shift, but no...

So after some sleep I'm off down the road to another supermarket that will definitely have a copy. Expect an update in six or so hours Neema.
 
I was going to pick this up for the old man. I might wait and some reviews.
 
I never bother with reviews :) We probably won't cancel the Wii U version as by the end of March, any issues that may surface will have been ironed out.

The Wii U with it's later release dates might have an advantage on that score. I hear that Sniper Elite v2 is now in the process of being fully revamped for this console and will be out in May.

EDIT:L Anyway, all this talk of the game has me restless, so I think I'll nip off down the shope now instead of later 👍
 
Well I've just finished this game. And i can tell it's a let down, to much I've been expecting from it.

Some may like it, i didn't. Just another shooter with Aliens in it. Aliens vs Predator is better for me.

Yeah, you're not kidding. This game has been in development hell for years and changed hands at least once, Gearbox hasn't had it for all that long if I remember rightly. Quite how they didn't learn their lesson about polishing someone else's, er, waste from DNF I don't know, but if A:CM bombs it's their reputation that'll suffer. If they outsourced it on top of picking up someone else's old project then it won't come as a surprise if the game sucks.

How Sega is still going is beyond me. They must be on the brink of financial oblivion if THQ has already gone and Square Enix is going... Sega and Atari are two publishers who absolutely astonish me with their constant releases of sub-par tat, yet they still manage to coast anyway.


Aaanyway, anyone got any opinions yet?
 
Just back from the local shop with the game...but as I've practically been awake for 24hours now I think it'll be a few hours yet before the disc goes in.

A stampede of negative Aliens: Colonial Marines reviews have gone live across the games media this morning, in particular criticising the shooter's disappointing AI.

A man at PCGamesN has taken it upon himself to demonstrate just how poor Colonial Marine's computer xenomorphs are... by running through an entire level without firing his gun.

The mission being played is 'One Bullet' and the difficulty setting is 'Hardened' - the second highest in the game. It's not a very flattering video really, is it?

My god. I almost bought it this morning. It is a shame though, I love the Alien series and would love a real scary alien game. Better watch the movies instead.

If you've got a PC, Alien Versus Predator 2 from a few years back was pretty great. Probably hasn't aged well and might not work on Windows 7... Or there's Aliens Versus Predator Classic 2000, it's aged really badly but is scary as hell!


Here's some more insight:

Someone else mostly made Colonial Marines, Mostly (Maybe) - Rock Paper Shotgun
Played: Aliens: Colonial Marines Multiplayer - Rock Paper Shotgun

Sounds like it might be worth a couple of quid for co-op in a year or so. Who knows, maybe it'll get fixed up (unlikely) or modded into a competent state.
 
:scared: I didn't have any idea that not just me didn't like it. From those trailers it looks like game it's going to be huge hit.

I planned to buy it for this horror climatic feeling but i guess ill spend my money on Tomb Raider 2013 instead.
