Same to what I do in PS:

Open
Magic Wand Tool, select BG and delete it
Save for Web (any option with good quality and below 20k in size
 


I'd like someone to do the same thing to this one as has been done to my current avvie. Looks like rounded edges, a shadow, and transparency.
 
I was making a Transformers Avatar awhile ago. A animated one, but the file size is way over the limit. Anyone know any good ways of decreasing the file size by a lot?

Here is the avatar, I took screen captures off one of my DVD's to get the images. 👍

Can anyone make the black in my avatar transparent? Or teach me how to do it? Thank you!

Edit: Ok I just read in the previous page how to do it but I don't have Fireworks or PS so I need somebody to do it for me. :D
 
Had a quick go, but no-where near the standards other people could do. In fact, I'm not even altogether sure it works.

looks OK-ish when on the darker background on the left panel.

Just hard to see the lettering....

Pfft. Hardly made it transparent.
 
I just noticed that the very left of the shadow still shows a tiny bit of outline, but it shouldnt matter :)

You mean with the reflection or just the colour?
 
The transparent background colour.
I think the reflection would be verry difficult on the car picture.
