Can anyone downsize this for me? I really like it.

Hello everyone, can i post a few questions here if you don't mind.I tried so many times editing my avatar to look like the one on my left (the current one. Thanks DustDriver :) ) so like how did my image ended up like this one:
Bumblebee.gif

So what did i do wrong there?Does the transparency affect the avatar? Why can't i just post the avatar like that without those "awful" white line and how to make an avatar without the lines and what technique did you use to make the avatar like mine now?

(sorry if this question was posted before.I just didn't notice it... )

In your other thread I believe Dustdriver said that you had a white line to right of your avatar. It was nothing to do with the transparency in the end. To solve the issue all you would have had to do is open the image with an editing program such as Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Paint or many others and go over the line with the correct colour.

I mentioned transparency as some versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox etc don't work to well with transparency. Once you have finished making your avatar it's worth opening the image in your internet browser so that you can see how it will appear before uploading it as your avatar. Bear in mind though that not everyone has the same browser, so what might look great on yours, might show other colours on a different browser.

It might be worth posting your avatar in this thread first so that everyone can take a look and let you know how it looks in there specific browser.

There are plenty of avatar specialists in here so I'm sure they'll be willing to help you out if you ask nicely. 👍

Sometimes I find a faint white line appears to border my avatars - I think this is casued by the way you cut and paste the image... check you don't have any 'feathering' on - if you do, when you cut and paste stuff, you don't get a nice sharp edge, but a faintly lighter or darker 'box' around the edge, which when you come to fill the avatar with a colour (i.e. the forum background colour from GTP) it doesn't fill the feathered 'box' area with the exact same colour, and hence when you upload your avatar, it looks like a light box around all or some of the edges (depending on when you crop the image relative to the fill)...

It is easily fixed by using the 'Smudge' tool around the edges (smudge from the inside of the image outward toward the edges) and that should clean up the edges nicely.

Ahh i see.Thats why it looks so weird....but how can you tell if it has the white line or not before loading the avatar.I don't know if its just me,but after editing it does look okay. Then when i upload it on GTP,then the white line suddenly appears.Oh never mind, thanks for the advice.Got to try and make more avatars now ;)

As mentioned above try opening the avatar in your internet explorer and this should hopefully show any problems with your avatar.

'ello gents.. Anyone minded upsizing mine to a 120 x "X" size or what-not? A friend on here gifted me a Premie Account. :D

Cheers,

If you have the original, could you post that up? Chances are it's bigger so can be resized appropriately, rather than scaled up like these are.

Good luck with that one, mate. I've had this avie two of the three years I've been here. So finding it will be....ah forget it. I'll take up on Danachronism's rendition. Thanks to all those involved. Plus rep to all.
