Found a local motocross club that run events throughout the year, so got my first motorsport fix of the year much earlier than I expected!

Had a learning experience yesterday with panning shots at a race event. Bit tougher than practicing with cars on the street going by plus being behind a fence and crowd.

Some late night photography I did a few hours ago. Zeche Zollverein in Essen, one of Germany's biggest and best known coal mines.

I don't take as many photos as I used to, but I would like to get back into it. Here are a few I took in 2019:

For many years my photos have been taken in a dark basement with artificial lighting on a tripod with the screen pre-rendering the results for me. I didn't have to factor in about finding the right time of day to get the best lighting, didn't have to find a proper location to put light where I want, and certainly didn't have to worry about unsteady hands. Basically it was a lot of crutches, so I decided to get out of my comfort zone, go outside and practice shooting without all the assists.

Some night shots I took yesterday during my stay in Barcelona. The new 60mm F/2 lens is truly paying off.

...fingers crossed that Covid-19 doesn't mean that there will be no more motorsport this year.

Two shots from my first paid photoshoot. A small step of turning my hobby into somewhat of a part-time job to gain a small second income.
