Isn't the whole point of racing in these series supposed to be about fun? This is a game, if you haven't noticed.

@ Mrmel the only thing you have done here is p---ed everyone off! Glad to see other people here are seeing who you really are! We have never had a problem with others fighting before you came here. Just a game get over it! With everyone getting disconnected and lagging everywhere you might want to try iracing or a different game. Dont hear me complaining about you taking me out during the race. Your good at the beginning of the race and you give up 3/4 of the way though the race.

Vote for spa for next week!

Yeah? Imagine how much fun it is, running races that last an hour and a half, by yourself, and just watching these magic Chevy/Ford guys run laps around you. Imagine that! SO MUCH FUN.

No, that I'm going to lose two fifth places, and he's not going to lose any points, in actuality, since he's been d/cd and DNS one race. So, while I've consistently finished from 3rd-5th, he's won every race but Indy, and doesn't even lose points for the races he's not in.

Let's see:

Daytona: Kevin 1st
Indy: Kevin 2nd
Suzuka: Kevin 1st
Monza: Kevin 1st
Monaco: Kevin DNS
Laguna Seca: Kevin DNF

Daytona: MrMelancholy15 5th
Indy: MrMelancholy15 5th
Suzuka: MrMelancholy15 4th
Monza: MrMelancholy15 4th
Monaco: MrMelancholy15 3rd
Laguna Seca: MrMelancholy15 4th

Excuse me, for saying that it's not looking good for me, but, IT'S NOT.

The only people who stand any chance at winning are Kevin and Yera, and I'm sick of watching the same people win, and running hour and a half long races, just to be mired in the middle of the field, and not even really have any battles.

Didn't you just say That Guy took the lead for the drivers standings?
If you have a problem with the rules we've been using for four seasons and over a year, you can get out. Please calm down. Take a breather.

As a matter of fact don't post in this thread again until noon tomorrow once everything has calmed down a bit. You post anything before then that may start or continue an argument, you're done racing here. Period.

Maybe this will make everyone feel better. Apologies for the quality. That's just the way it came out of my game.

Not so much video quality that's poor but the lighting. I can't really see it.
Could you post some screenies?

So not even the guys below you? Or even your team mate in the same car give you any competition?
Don't worry, i know the feeling.

Heck I spun 2 times before I pitted. I took half the field out almost. (Sorry guys) Rear tire hit the dirt. Just ran consistent for the rest of the race and finished 3rd.

I forgot about the performance forgiveness there. Fine, I understand, I won't post anything after this, but, my final point is: are we sure that the cars *ARE,* in fact, equally balanced? Cowboys did terrible in every other car, gets into the Ford, and beats me? And, Kevin and Hawaiian are on the podium of almost every race? And, yera's on the podium of every single race? I don't REALLY remember the last time the Viper, Porsche, or BMW won... Just, while you're sleeping, then, think it over. Shouldn't we encourage more people to at least HAVE A CHANCE at winning?

And, PAWEL, my teammate quit, because of D/c issues.

No one is forcing you to be here, we welcome the competition from all drivers but if its not fun for you then you can always exit the series.

im done

I won the last race at Monaco!! You were there!!

God, you're conceited. TG2 won that race fair! But, you still post derogatory video links?

Yeah... you should really stop that. Everyone's saying I seem like a jerk here? Because I'm calling for fair competition, and defending myself?

It's like every five seconds, you post some derogatory thing, about the other drivers, to the point of making that "the Fast and the Furious" video.

Nah man, it was funny because you said Porsche hasnt won, but he won last week. I laughed for real

Laguna is known to favor the nimbler, less powerful cars. Hence why the Ford beat you.
Kevin and FH have been on the podium every race they've ever been in, regardless of car. They're good drivers.
Yera is the only one with an unfair advantage because he's Portuguese, and they always win.
Viper, weren't we just discussing how fast this car actually is?
Porsche, I'm not complaining, That Guys not complaining, we're just slow drivers.
BMW more weight more power. Dunno how you faired at Monza, gonna assume it was bad luck. But Laguna doesn't exactly favor your car, so don't feel bad.

And if it makes you feel any better, I have never, ever won an official GTPlanet series race (including preseason races), ever. And I've been doing this for over a year now.

No. I mean, look at the other teams, and compare it to Chevy, and Ford. And, yes, you are a conceited jerk, posting such derogatory videos in every other post.

It's 2 AM go to bed everyone. Techy, if you're still awake, lock the thread until I PM you tomorrow.

Yeah, I won once in the Rolex series, narrowly beating out my teammate Seth... The point remains, though, this series is nowhere near as competitive as the Rolex series. Every manufacturer except Ferrari has won in the Rolex series, and they've all been good, long battles. And, it's fun, because the cars are so well balanced. The Ferraris haven't won yet, because one of the Ferrari drivers doesn't attend any races, and the other d/cs from every race.

You haven't raced at Nurb GP/F with us yet. :)
That will be a good race. Trust me.

Im not going around in circles with you, stop blaming the cars, stop blaming the drivers and stop blaming the rules. Theres an old saying here in america, lead, follow or get out of the way.

Also ill just assume you're done with this series effective today.

Fine, I'll stay in the series, but, I'm expecting that the rest of the season will go a lot better...? In terms of close competition?

My real point is: I never seem to get good, clean, close racing in this series. There are the guys who continually win, and the guys who continually finish way behind. The best racing I've had, all season, has been with Storm. Even at Monza  :irked: (being sarcastic) Regardless, I'm fast in the Rolex series, I'm fast in the ITCC series, I'm fast in the WGTC series, but, I'm "mid-pack" here? Could it be, that the cars aren't perfectly balanced?

I mean, Seth, Storm and I run identical lap times, and, are almost always less than ten seconds apart, for the entire race, from the start 'til the finish. I don't understand the difference between this series, and those series.

I'm trying to have fun, but, I came for the competition, and I'm just not seeing much.

And, I'm sorry for being a hassle, but, it seems like, after 4 seasons, the competition still isn't perfect. I'm done "complaining," (and, I'll admit, that it could seem like complaining) but I really just want to know what I'm doing wrong, that it doesn't seem like there is any competition.

So, instead of complaining, I'd like to ask if anyone has tips on how to take the battle to Chevy? Or, how to find closer competition, without sandbagging and hanging out with the guy in last place?

If you can, invest in a wheel. If not then work on your throttle control coming out of corners, i always notice you blipping the gas several times and in some cases swinging the rear end around. You need to be smooth on and off the accelerator to save tires.

Hmmm, well, Harrison's selling his wheel, and I'm selling my kayaks... 💡

Otherwise, it's either understeer or oversteer with the BMW... and I just can't get the car to turn, without throttle.

I'm just using the RWD to turn the car, but, you're right, it does kill the tires...

Mel I've been the back-marker of this and other series for some time now. I still do it for fun. I even do OK once and a while (last year at Monza in the Ford was one of those freak races--3rd I believe). Just saying. These aren't your average racers. We're mixed between competent and alien-fast. You should consider yourself lucky that some of racers from seasons past aren't here like Jav and Potato.

My race was ruined by lap 5 because storm couldn't see me. I went a lap down at the start of lap 6 and drove around on my own for the rest of the race (essentially). I have no complaints for how the race was run or how the other drivers drove. I felt the cars are well balanced due to the fact I never really gained or lost time to the other GT drivers (except gogatrs and sinladar) once the race had settled down. I felt sorry for seth as he had to run on his own in the lmp class for an odd 20 laps.

I really enjoyed the race and am happy to stay in the series when I have nothing on a Saturday morning.

Thanks for a good race everyone. Hope to see you all again :)

Yo, Storm- when I hit you (if I hit you) I didn't get any bump. I think lag may have been messing round. You had problems didn't you? Same with others in the room. I think all the extras joining in the middle of the race didn't help either. Every time someone joined the screen would 'jump'.
Yeah, the only problems I had were not seeing people on track, but nobody was lagging on my screen. I was definitely hit by you, but if your screen jumped or had lag for parts of the race then I'll end my vices there. It just wasn't very nice to have my car pushed off wide into the sand when I was already commited to a corner and the first one there by a fair way. Also, anyone wanna look back over the replay and see what "gust of wind" swept me and Sin off the track please? It was shortly after Sin pitted, I know that, because we were battling for position thereafter.

Edit ~ As for the competition factor in this series, I dunno. I think that it's down to the drivers and what car they're in. If Kevin's been using the Chevy around the same track for a few season then it explains why the car is doing so well. I think if I were to use the same car it'd be a different story. Honestly? Given I'm new to ALL online endurance racing series' on GT5, and if the conditions were perfect in the lobby, I knew I had a shot at pole, and I knew I had a real chance at a podium. For me, the only problem here is that there are too many good drivers, too many experienced drivers, but that isn't really a bad thing.

Here's a hint, The PREMIUM M3 SUCKS compared to these other cars (at least on tight tracks). I was trying to get the rule makers to allow the M3GTR road car (standard) because it actually weighs in around the same as the other cars. I don't know how that went over officially, but I basically got told off, but I was a rookie back then. Now I'm two time LMP champ (soon ;)) I may get my voice heard!? Basically the Ford can corner faster than any other GT car. The Ferrari is bad-ass as well, and I donno why people aren't using it. I was practicing with the Lotus and did 1:24 flats without ever using it there before. It just goes to show you that you need to get a car that's light on it's feet, not a front heavy boat.

I think back then it was more of a concern about it being a standard. Gatrs wanted all premiums back then. But then also, that car is basically a race car. Only two models were ever built. The cars we are using are straight off of the showroom floor. All besides the RUF.

Then what about the BMW M3 CSL? I don't see THAT much in the way of performance, and I actually have one tuned up to some respectable specs.
