Yeah but how I've stated it avoids all that messing about....put simply if everyone stays on the track during qualifying and while the race starts the LMPs will be out front in their order, GT next and then GTC will be behind them on the grid. Simple. For those in this series that also race in the LMES you should be able to back up what I've just said....

I think all the point of the quali talk was because we had too many people in the room the other day though, that were reserves and some people couldn't get in. The benifit for the "different day of qualifying", would be that the fastest 5 would be the only ones in on raceday! Thats just what I'm getting from this. But I agree with you, this is much easier, and time saving, if people would cooperate!

that was GT1 though. GT2 is totally different! As they have found out. Yes, I did just go there.

Well, I'm GT1 with ironically, a Vette, in FIA GT1 GT2! :)
 
:P Already knew that! Really wanted to be in GT1 in that series but Jav wanted me to race GT2 and in the end I cant seem to make races so meh, ditched it....lol
 
Guys, if we were to do qualy on a separate night, it would make it a lot more realistic.
We have a lot more time. We could run TT13's support races. We can do practice races. etc. etc.
So of we can find a time/day that works for everyone, we should be good.
Wed work it like this: LMP guys are called into the room. LMP guys have 15-20 minutes to qualify. LMP times/are written down and posted. LMP guys are asked to leave. GT guys are called to the room. GT guys qualy. Repeat for GTC. Top five from each class are called back into the room. Sixteenth guy will be determined to be the guy that is closest to the poll time in his class.
He is called into the room.
We will do one of TT13's support races.
A quarter distance race with a standing start.
Then it's free practice until everyone leaves.

Good?
 
Only problem with that is making time to attend the qualis for GT. So if I could be on a provisional list as a full time driver and I qualify before the race starts would you allow that if you go with the above?
 
That's a good idea but there's the problem of not showing up to race but qualifying or vice versa. It's pretty much twice the commitment.

We'd have to work out a time/day that works for everyone.
We can't do it in the room right before the race.

If we do this method, then being on the reserves will mean nothing.

I was in a NASCAR series awhile back that had the same setup, but it wasn't a separate night.

Basically, any class with extra racers would have a "shootout" in a separate room before the main race to see who would could stay for the main event.

It doesnt take that long and isn't an extra nights commitment.

I'll leave it up to you guys which night but I'm hoping I'm misreading and the people signed up for the season don't have to battle it out with reserves to get spots in the races. That would really screw up points and team standings :(.

I'm against that idea. Though for which night we qualify, I'm okay with either Wednesday or before the race. I'll leave it up to you guys.

P.S. the lineup for ALMS support races and possibly a special announcement on LMES support races are in the mix. More to come!
 
I think before the the race actually because being up at 10:00pm+ isn't good for me on week days except for Friday and weekends

Then we qualify LMP earlier.
I can open the room at around 8:00.
Then LMP qualifies from 8:15 to 8:45 or so.
We could possibly ALL be done before 10:00.
Or at least all the qualifying will be done.
Other "festivities" will probably last slightly longer.
 
Fridays are usually okay for me
 
Yeah definitely have all events, whatever they may be, done before 10pm EDT. At least that's what I'm suggesting. I don't know about you guys but I need to be well rested somehwhat haha

It's rather slow.
Just one in 1031.
 
It's the same as the normal LM race car you win from dream car isn't it? It's sort of rare and I want it :P
 
WHOA WHAT IS GOING ON HERE, I'm grinding dream car championship and my guy is on his 3rd race, but it is STILL AT INDY SPEEDWAY, THE FIRST RACE, the first time it happened I wasnt paying too much attention, and I'm like, Wait, what? I'm confused and it's just repeating Indy for the 3rd time! WTF?!
 
Ok nevermind, I am such a ditz. Apparently I was accidentally repeating Lije the Wind on Indy... :'(
