Come on guys! Join if you can! Were gonna get together and have a Monza practice session, tune chill, and you could compare your lap times to see if you're good or not!
 
without chicanes isn't that bad
 
I actually like the chicanes, but I think majority should win this debate. I could care less either way.
 
The reason we're doing Monza is so we can see how cars compare to a tight twisty track like Laguna, to a high speed track like Monza.
No Chicanes would only give us a better example of a high speed track.
 
I practiced with cowboy a little bit and he had noticeable trouble with the chicane
 
Is the chicane the first part after the long straight along pit lane? And yes I'm really having some trouble trying to control my BMW, that's why I feel like moving to GT or GTC for now

Is your car good at turning? I think I might consider getting a Mazda 787B
 
My car is pretty good at turning but it uses too much fuel and eats through tires faster than i would like

Oh, and as for Tat leaving that race (Laguna Seca pre-season), if I remember correctly, he volunteered to leave. I was going to type that I'd go if he really wanted to stay, but he left before I can finish my sentence. One other guy did speak up as well (someone on the reservs), but I don't think Tat saw it in time. We'll have to ask him about that.
 
Yeah, I don't believe that tat has even signed up. lol
But we need a more methodical manner of making room.
It can't just be the first sixteen guys to join the room.

Is the OP correct with everyone's class/car?

Damned cup, just winking at me. Like it had an evil scheme. A scheme so evil, it will do bad things to people that are good. It's that evil! Ahem, where was I?

I think that the qualifying can be done on a seperate day, if time permits. Each class should qualify independantly and the top 5 drivers from each class will participate. Everyone should remember their positions or you (Gogatrs) can write them down. But should be left up to the drivers to place their input on the matter and see what works best.

And if I don't qualify, I'll be the pace car (there's an extra slot anyways)! :sly:

EDIT: I have searched this thread and I do not even think he has posted a single post in this thread. :lol: Just thought it was interesting.

Or we could qualify by having the LMP cars set their time then drive into the pits without exiting the repeat with the other classes

C. Norris was driving a Fiat 500 in the Super Car Festival.
Obviously he was winning. lol JK, that was while I was grinding Indy.

"Set it to fastest first and give 5-10 minutes to each class while the other class sits in the pits. Will save a TON of time and will automatically set the grid, no need to muck around with cars having to pass each other...(ala LMES qualifying and race starts)"

Posted this earlier, will save the possibility of people crashing into each other trying to organise the grid and saves a TON of time.

Also, was thinking about running the MP4-12C at Monza as a test but I may just show up with a surprise ;) Corvette related maybe?
 
Well, they way I was thinking is that when the actual race came after qualifying on a previous day (any day), the drivers will get called to the track one at a time in the order of their qualifying time and will line up on a certain part of the track (most likey a straight outside the pits) before the race starts. No one would be allowed to complete laps at that time (after a course and time reset of course). So no one should be slamming into anybody when the race actually starts (or when the pace lap starts). I don't know how well it would work out, and it may be complicated for some.

Oh and Gogatrs, it's better to race against an I.gay than a U.Gay, which I had too. Damn taunter. :lol:

I like Monza better with chicanes. No chicanes is fine, too, but IMO it's a bit boring.

So it'll be a 150-mile race? If so, that's already about 40 laps, assuming the distance of the track to be 3.6 miles.

I was thinking, if we had say, 4 guys in GT on the primary list, and 3 Guys in GT on the reserve, obviously just allow the fastest guy in as #5, but if you had a few reserves of EACH class in, and you needed to make the space work, you could just have them all run their own qualifier using the exact same car, say the Ferrari for example, to see who's quickest, and then let them into thier respective class as the 16th entrant in the field! It would just be time consuming is all.

Didn't see this post yet! I agree with this post! As long as the sessions are late enough I can make them through the week!
