that was a fun race and to be honest i didnt even know That Guy was in first until the last few laps because i have the driver list turned off cause it gets in the way of my rear view mirror. so literally the whole 2nd half of the race in my head i was in first lol. had another nice battle with gtamann, neither of us could pull away from eachother for quite a few laps. pit stops were the key, i could have stayed out longer on a few stints but i honestly thought i was up front lol.

I didn't bother to participate, I ended up having to watch my kid a lil later than expected so I got on late.

Forza and rFactor videos really are making me want to play GT5 less and less, been having a blast racing the C6.R, S7R, Lola Aston, 458GTE, Gallardo GTE, Lola-HPD (Level 5), etc. Why does GT5 have not a single GT or non Audi/Peugeot car past 2005?

Do you guys know where to download all the stuff I need now that I have enduracers? Force feedback mod and anything else like tracks (I only have the tracks that came with the game).

PM me and I'll get you everything you need a little later.

ok. BTW anyone get pics of the race? I won't have time this weekend really, but it seemed like there were some close moments here and there.

Me, gatrs and cowboys had some moments as I recall. And I heard something about pipi and crashing out of contention, though I didn't see any of it.

I think I have the replay saved. You can try to get some in, while I try some as well.

i wish i could have saved it, we had a tough battle for much of the race. if i had a pvr id be making highlight videos and stuff

I really didn't see last night as a serious race.

Sorry I didnt make it guys. I had internet issues.

Was it because of the racing hards? :dopey:

Really the only reason I was able to pass you was with a fresh set of softs vs. your wearing hards. I need a good tune. The one Mitch gave me is good but it feels a tad unfinished, like the front end wants to pull into an understeer when I track out. Maybe FH is up for it if I send the car over?

With more practice I can feel myself getting quicker. With the right tune I feel like I could be on pace by the end of this season.

I hit 1:22.6 or so in qualy (about pace, still significantly slower than pole) which somehow put me two spots up from last, but my pace was at least a second or two slower in race.

i use my own tunes and it seems to work much better. theres a great article here if you want to learn how to set up a car. its a lot of reading though.

basically the first thing i do is take stock settings and do some laps. then figure out what you need (too loose, too tight?), adjust the ballast because weight distribution plays a big role in how a car behaves. move it forward if a car is too loose, move it back to combat understeer. pay close attention to the weight distribution numbers 50/50, 48/52, etc... and set your spring rate off that. if more of the cars weight is in the rear then the rear springs need to be stiffer than the front and vice versa. thats how you achieve a balances setup, but doesnt mean you cant do otherwise. how stiff is up to you, on a tight track like madrid i used stiffer springs than i normally would because i wanted more responsiveness.

hmm i could go on and on here lol but thats a good starting point, creating balance is key and will keep the front and back ends from fighting with eachother (car wobble in mid corner). smooth is fast and it saves tires

Thanks! I have a feeling learning to tune to specific tracks/situations can mean the difference of at least a second or two, which would have potentially kept me up with the front pack at Madrid given my clean and consistent laps there. Hitting 1.22 felt like a wall, and that I really had to battle against the car to get there. I don't think I did one lap lower than 1.23 during the heat of the race (adrenaline tends to get me braking later and exiting sooner). Also, I've noticed GT5 is the only racing game that I can get away with those kinds of bad habits. Doing laps in a PC game makes me faster in GT5!

I'll upload the file for you in a bit.

You guys have no idea how badly I want to hit Seth Neiman right now.

Who?

There's like 20 Porsches

I don't care, Neiman is stupid for even attempting to drive. He could have four Porsche factory drivers if he wanted, but instead he chooses three+himself.
Stupid rich person.

I didn't know this race was so heavily related to the Le Mans series. I freaking hate those cars, though. They're like prototype stock cars or something.

You know the AC/DC singer is driving?

A Ferrari for Risi I think. Lololol

Wasn't he on an older top gear? As I recall he's pretty heavily into cars/racing.

I believe he had the fastest time of the season as a
matter of fact.

Be nice if we could get these Porsches, but EA is too busy selling crappy slow ones as DLC in bad games.

You see Gatrs? NASCAR drivers have talent.
