I hoped that braun would've got a penalty for that push on the last lap that caused me to lose 2 places. :( Still, you're the steward...

The way I see that incident is it was a driver error. Nothing biased against either of you. We're all pushing to the limit so things like that happens, but you can always appeal the decision, and I'll look at it a second time :)

Race 3 report:

I take a warning for that on turn 1 lap 2 Sparky, dumb move from me :banghead:
The Lap 2 incident at the roundabout involving sparky and aboe is considered a race incident. How I see it is sparky slightly touches aboe on the rear panel which causes a spin. I don't think it was intentional..
Braunracings performance can best be described as his best yet in the series. Keep that up 👍

You can watch behind and side of you to see what is round you. Just use your controller buttons.
I bet... in the virtual world we don't have the luxury of being able to look around and behind us.

Thankfully, that's what replays are for. It's common knowledge that human memory decays quite rapidly. If you don't have a replay saved on your own hard disk I'm more than happy to upload my own if it will help. :)

^ This will help me, I want to form my own opinions of racing incidents. My part of being a steward, I guess.

I remember taking only Mel out. It was on qualifiers and it was unintended, I apologized later, same with Braun but during race 3 but wasn't a total spin out or amything really costly to both of us. I don't really remember if I took you out (I know this isn't Burnout/NFS). Wait Race 3 incident, you spun out and I tried to dodge the carnage, I hit you and got stuck on you.

I don't remember seeing it earlier, but, I didn't really mind anyways. I was probably in the washroom when you apologized; this further goes along with my Kimi Raikkönen haircut perfectly!

Sparkytooth - the next time you take somebody out please have the decency to at least allow them to pass. An apology would be great as well.

On the subject of apologies - sorry to MrMelancholy... I think that was me who rammed you going into the first chicane. I did slow to let you regain your composure. It was just a case of a missed braking point coupled with a congested corner.

Cheers :)

See above, apology accepted. :) My bumper needed to be replaced, though.

Best City Track has always and will always be Special Stage Route 5, Madrid is stupid. Even Rome, which had a better form in GT2 and GT3 is better than the circus that is Madrid.

:( I find SSR5 immensely boring, actually. It's too simple, there isn't enough variety. That's why most people enjoy it above Madrid; Madrid's a driver's track. Mistakes are costlier, and much more common.

I personally think it's one of the best city tracks... :)

...Because you're one heck of a fast dude! Of course you like it, those who can... We drive the technical, challenging, fun circuits. Those who can't, are stuck on Tsukuba.

Sarcasm radar is failing for you ain't it mel? I was joking. I fraggin hate Madrid with a passion so great that if I ever learned Japanese I'll go write a letter to PD about how much I hate it.

Sarcasm radar - activated.

As for the complaints, you'd be perfectly fine [and ignored] to send your message in English. However, as I said in the square brackets, you'll be ignored. Madrid is a tricky, treacherous, and beautiful circuit. SSR5 is much closer to the chopping block, I believe, as GT5/GT6 show a huge interest in the visuals and graphics of the games, meaning that the team at PD are highly unlikely to go through the hassle of trying to "update" and "beautify" SSR5 any more than they already did; it entirely lacks scenery.

The trees with the gold lights were a nice touch, yes. But, and without destroying the history of the track, there's only so much you can do, to spice up the otherwise bland scenery; something that PD has done with basically all of the GT5 tracks that were in previous installments of the game. Look how many differences there are on the Nürburgring alone! :scared:

Do you even link, bro?

Done it for you all, then.

Quastion about Deep Forest's 4th corner. Who we drive it? Shortcut or between white lines?

I remember we had that problem in BTCC too. It would be too hard to control (ab)use of it so it will count as the track.

Well Madrid is challenging indeed but the scenery is just bland and sometimes able to confuse you except for the Bear Statue (gotta love it). It's cramped as heck when having more than 8 cars on the track. I still have mixed feelings about the track although the layout poses a great challenge. Deep Forest is classic and more of a medium difficulty, I love the risks you can take on certain corners. The last corner is especially awesome IMO, you either choose to blast across it, risking failure and a meet and greet with the nearby wall, or getting an even faster lap time, or slowing down further and risking speed loss.

^ True, also it's a good track for battles, IMO.
Yeah, not as narrow as Madrid so we can have more distance and less claustrophobic mistakes and bumps like last rounds.

Spot on about the last corner, a bit like Eau Rouge actually. Too slow and you'll be penalised on the straight. Too fast and you'll definitely end in the wall. Get it 100% right and you'll feel as alive as never before (that's if DF was Greenwood though). This track is probably the most interesting PD course 👍

And don't forget the misterious similarity to that Iowan circuit. ;)

Ok, so we just found out:

Last corner feels like Eau Rouge
DF has an almost exact real-life version (not news anymore)
It's just as good, if not better, at teaching driving line than Tsukuba
It is, so to speak, Frankencircuit

Racing on DF is never boring, I remember from BTCC S2 having at least 2 Safety Car per race, and these were no longer than our feature races.. Fond memories 👍

I disagree entirely.

The last corner on Deep Forest irks me beyond belief. It's more about car setup; who's got the car with the best slip angle. For a guy who goes out with a Kimi Raikkönen mindset, that's not very beneficial.

However, Madrid is a track of patience. I saw people getting on the throttle too soon, and the brakes too late, this time out, at Madrid. Especially in the first chicane and the second corner. Knowing how to attack those corners is entirely different from most other tracks, and it showed.

I had a great result at Madrid, as far as my goals; podiums, and near-wins are always great goals, but, consistently finishing top 5, is a more realistic one. Then toss in always finishing in the points, and you've got a list of priorities; finishing in the points takes precedence, finishing top 5 is the actual goal, and winning is the "if and when possible" goal.

Madrid rewards my style of driving, which tends to be a reserved, drafting, relaxing drive for the first few laps, with some Vettel @ Shanghai 2013 closing laps. I take inspiration from both Vettel and Raikkönen, you know.. :sly:

I don't really have inspirations at all as I really started to play GT at a young age and had no idea whatsoever of any drivers in F1 let alone watch it. I have never believed in any driver as a hero of sorts. Not even Venezuela's own F1 driver Pastor Maldonado makes me give a flying buck.

That's cool. But, you could, (like everyone else) learn a lot. Just sayin'.

Some of us have some huge training, practice, seat-time, or driving coaches.

I was almost on Canada's National karting team. I've competed in provincial championships. I've won races in real life. I race a lot.

YaShoe's dad and grandad were rally drivers.

Jammy's probably done some sort of racing in his probably illustrious life.

Litchi's done quite a bit of some sort of racing, I can tell. He beat Jammy. :sly:

FlakyPastry... is an absolute alien.

Seriously, now, you don't have to worry about taking inspiration from a real life racing driver. All I'm saying, is that you can/should set goals, examine your progress, and rethink your positions. Are you here to have fun? If that's your goal, don't worry, that'll come really quickly. But, you, just like everyone else here, could be faster, if you really wanted to. Just a little bit of YouTube videos, or magazine articles.. You'll find time.

Yea, also.. Practice! But if you don't feel like improving and just want to have fun, go for it.👍

Well Flaky is sort of alien (How he learned english beats me) :p. I have accumulated all my skills over the 8 years I have gaming; MT driving, Drifting, every assist off even ABS recently has all come naturally to me over time and on the DS3, I don't have a real car to drive, I'm 15 but nobody cares if I take a crack at any car in my country but my family just doesn't have one right now as we sold the old Maverick last year (and said car wasn't in a good shape either :p). I am fast indeed as I got a podium on my first ever race with my White Clio against drivers that are older than I am, could have been better if not for a mistake and a race incident. Madrid really was a test of my skills but I failed to comply with the track this time mainly due to my own mistakes and other race incidents. Classify me in the category of young and aspiring to be faster than all of you to become just as alien as Flaky :sly:

In short: Thanks for the advice Mel 👍

Well, if that's the case, you're going to learn a lot. Check your PMs inbox, :)

You're 15 too? That's great to know! Your goal is the same as mine: climb up the time trial leaderboards and become an alien.:D At the moment, I'm happy if I get Top 1000 in a time trial. Soon, the goal will become higher... :) And, of course, my other goal is to get closer to the local track's lap record. :sly:

I know that mate, thanks. I meant it in the more natural sense though. Unfortunately, when you look around on GT5 using left and right you aren't able to use your peripheral vision to see other parts of the track as well. My DFGT already has the look buttons configured to it and I make good use of them.

^ This will help me, I want to form my own opinions of racing incidents. My part of being a steward, I guess.

Does this mean you'd like me to upload my replay for you?

I used to feel like a lone wolf attacking GT. but now I know that I'm not alone.

Just did a small test:

On my setup I did 21's. On Flaky's setup I instantly did a high 20! (on SS, of course)

If my math isn't wrong that's 11 lap sprint and 15 lap feature :)

Wow, I guess we have a club. I'm 15. Although I'm turning 16 in a few months.
Also, on the note of climbing up the boards. Yea, I used to not be able to crack 1000, now usually by second or third try I can get in the 200-300's pretty easy. I've only cracked 75 once. I'll try again when another comes out.
