Well I'm 17 so that's still the JRCC for me, pun intended :sly:

Back on topic, save to say one of the seconds I lose every lap was due to a complete mess of a setup, no wonder I was sliding when I had overkilled camber on the front and am left with little to no idea about dampers and body roll

We are keeping the ballast correct? I did a couple laps with and without it and we are looking at a difference in times of about .5-.75s. I'm not trying to state a case, just mere observations.

And rally, yea that tune is fairly decent. Definitely not perfect, but it gets rid of the majority of the understeer this car naturally has.

Ballast is still enforced, but this means you'll need to look at it and remember when it's your time to jump to the pits to make it proceed as fast as possible (I know if you cheat) :)

Same about lining up for race 3, just remember who you're to be in front of and behind, and everything will go smoothly 👍

I think adding a bit more downforce and cutting turn 4 can go down to the 19's, what times have you others been doing?

If I can get a good lap in while cutting the concrete, high 17s. I'm at an 18.3 without cutting, so I figure that's worth a half second.

My best time so far is (with my ballast 1330) 1:19.1 on SS. Did my first setup test last night.

@RM: it's about setup as much as it's about your driving style. How you want to your car behave/handle.
Sometimes i want my car to be understeer and sometimes oversteer depending on the track and the car.
Controller also affect the setup.
On SS? Yikes! :scared:

On what tire compound? Also, I'm 27, so I guess I'm the old man here.

Unfortunatly I will not be able to race this week. Have fun everyone.
No!!!!!!!!!!! The biggest shame of life!

I almost got a 1:16 on RH tires. I was astonished when I saw 1:17.023. YaShoe was there. If you're hitting 1:18.3s without cutting on SS tires, I'm in trouble for yet another weekend.

That's noted Racing. Legal absense.

Akmuq is in the danger zone for being banned for illegal absense after a legal absense in round 1 where he said it would be the only time.

Guys, for quali let's just focus on second, shall we? Unless we force Flaky on SS, rest on RH we have no effing chance of pole position

Yes I know  But sometimes things need to be done in RL. Hope to be back next week.

Actually I knew this would happen, and it will probably one more time, but I think I stated that well before the series started. Just missing out on some points now....

You did point out very early in fact, so you signed as a part time.. Funny thing is you've made more races than some fulltimes 👍

Idea: Could we have feature race with pitstop? Setting event so that tire/fuel consumption is fast or very fast and count of the laps is so much that you have go pitstop for tire change or more fuel to get finish line.

I think we're too far into Season 1 to change, but that certainly is in consideration for Season 2 👍

My problem is that I suck at tuning, I just don't invest enough time into complete understanding of setups. I have a near stock (in suspension and tuning setup) white Clio and I still get podiums and stuff. Who's the alien now? :sly:

Yeah yeah, it's only because my understanding of tuning meant I applied a setup that would work for FF's but means a whole load of oversteer on RWD

Well, I don't tune much either, just a quick suspension and gear ratio tune and, of course, the mighty aero part adjusting! :D

Can I be changed to part-time, bruv?

No I didn't....

Unlikely I'll make tonight, playing music at 7, however, a family emergency has come up and I may get stuck at home so I still may race.

Also, this shouldn't be a usual occurrence, when I play music, it's usually at 8:30.

You can of course, I just need people to say it if they can't :)

Thing is if a lot of people sign up but never show they're basically blocking for serious entries. This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but GTP in general 👍

Edit: Akmuq is now a part time, and we've got our first purpose-signed driver!

Please all read the OP update just below the signups 👍

Tuning: Did last night my 2nd setup test runs and didn't find any good setup - actually went worst than my monday night setup :( Back to start...

If someone's online around race time I guess we could do a little practise, maybe a little race too :) this can also be BigKat's chance to have a run with us so we can introduce things to him

It certainly wouldn't be the worst idea out there.

BigKat; please tell me you're *actually* from Florida. since I dated a girl named Kat, I must be somewhat careful.... Or rather extremely careful. The first words she said to me, after a year, were "🤬! I'll slap you the next time I see you!"

As for this nonsense discussion of tuning setups, I tune backwards, and it still works somehow. Sometimes, I can do a better lap with a poorly tuned car, because it's more predictable. Like, rallymorten could easily set a fast lap, because his car's not going to be "twitchy." He knows that his car will oversteer, so he can use the slip angle, but still be careful on the throttle...

Yeah, sometimes you can over-tune your cars.

So I was almost right about my joke in WRC :)

Yeah, it's not necessarily about having the greatest tune, but more about knowing how your car reacts. The tune I had was pretty unpredictable, particularly when tyres were not on their first lap.. This one feels better and I'm confident it can bring a podium this weekend, let's see if the tyre strategy will too :nervous: (I think the 2-tyre system would be pretty sweet if they weren't seconds apart per lap)

Edit: just one thing as I think this may come in handy: In the event two cars approach Turn 4 (the cut-zone), and one decides to cut, the other to stay on the regular track, remember this: unless the cutter is clearly ahead, say at least has his front wheels ahead of the bumper of the regular, the one on the regular track will have the right of way. This is to prevent the accidents I sense coming if we don't enforce this :)
