It is June 5th ;)

Can we get some confirmation that the Turbo S wheels are delayed until September? So far, one person has recieved an email (I have not 👎)

Furthermore, are you currently addressing some of the issues with the Clubsport Pedals (faulty wire connections, brake deadzone, etc...)?

;)

yup. there's many vids on youtube and on forza's official forums of the simpod being used now.

Does the motion sim setup mean that forza 3 will support the frex motion setup, or other motion simulators?

I have also received the email about the Turbo S delay.

I appreciate hearing the word from more people, but man...

It sure would be nice to hear this first hand from Fanatec myself. :(

I want to know why I and so many others orders aren't on that mailing list. Kind of worries me about my order, when others get informed and I don't.

But you did get the silver pedals with it? So why complain about them not being the default option? There was no misinformation in that regard since you got what´s on the pictures. That´s why I can´t understand that complaint. You just disassemble them with an allen key and you are done. Personally I preferr them without any of them so I do think they have a point really. Should maybe complain about the design more then the misinformation on them.

Sorry about your cable problem though have not had that with any of my wheels sounds like real bad luck.

The complaint was made regarding photos shown without them.
I quieried this, and as explained earlier the information i got was not that both were in the box. Therefore the complaint continued from the incorrect information i was personally given. Thats not a big point the point is it was just another mistake, as both items are included. I continued with the other faults of the "still missing and not mentioned G25/X360 pedal lead" incorrect instructions for the wheel, no instructions for the pedals at all and the unluckyness some of us have had in receiving theirs faulty. These are justafied complaints on situations that are not upto a qyality standard and the reason in complaining is to get someone at Fanatec to take note of them not just to voice an opinion here. Just look above heres another situation regarding some people getting and others not receiving their emails of a delay, really the more we read of issues the more annoyed i get at the lack of anything being done about it. I cant see a Ferrari contracted/brand/endorsed product behaving this way or indeed be allowed to.

The complaints i made are not of my individual order/circumstances the complaints are about the lack of communication/information to the community from the community website, no formal announcement or opology for the missing lead (so still wheel only purchasers cannot use this wheel with their G25 pedals as advertised) and the fact that this long overdue pre order product didnt have the managment oversight to ensure other problems were avoided. My God i cant believe the sloppyness...

If i performed this way in my own business, i can tell you i wouldnt be in business for long. Sorry i find it embarrising yet annoying as i generaly love the products. Fanatec have a long long way to go in many areas yet. Even though their products seem excellent...
Dont however take me as a complete moaner, i will congratulate Fanatec on anything good they do and give them credit were they deserve it icluding how they deal with my "return/replacement" but at the same time i am a critical consumer because of my own background in retailing and base their performance to how i would conduct matters in my own business with my own customers.

Lets see how long the official site for orders takes to notify customers that the Turbo S wheel is now expected to be delayed yet its been mentioned here a few days ago. Its things like this should get priority and show a level of customer service that should be their but currently isnt. I have a feeling the Turbo S still has a lot of sales to achieve to reach its target 10,000. If not then it wouldnt of been at E3 and to be honest i have my suspicions that it was always originally planned to release in the same time frame as FM3 now. Two major product release delays this will be and i can only hope they get on top of issues ive mentioned sooner rather than later and be sure the Turbo S releases without problems.

Could we please get this thread off lengthy discussions about why someone did or didn't complain?

Please give us information on how the wheel & pedals are performing with GT5P & other PS3 & PC games. The big issue, as I see it, is whether the RS wheel is reasonable for use with the PS3 or not.

On three different places on Fanatec's website the RS wheel is described in these ways:

"Compatible with PC and some PlayStation 3 games"

"PlayStation® 3
This console is not supported officially but some PlayStation® 3 games work as well."

"Compatible to PC /PlayStation 3 yes/yes"

I took this to mean that the wheel WILL work but is not officially supported - in the same way that the G25 works with GT5P even though it is not "officially" supported. As I didn't want to have to worry about "dongles" & wireless capability, didn't want to pay extra for them, & didn't want to wait months extra for the Turbo S wheel (as it turns out, at least another 4 months), I decided to go ahead & order the RS wheel.

From the responses I have received from Thomas it is clear that Fanatec is backing away from the position that the RS wheel should work with PS3 games. However, the important thing is not whether it does or doesn't in theory, but whether it does in fact. Could you guys who actually have the wheel up & running please let us know how it is working out with GT5P, & for that matter with F1CE, FC & DiRT/Grid?

Thank you! :)

I do not know why some people did not receive this email. We definitly sent it to all customers but perhaps it ended up in a junk mail folder or whatever.

The reason for the delay is very simple: There are still some small issues we need to fix.

I have ten units ready to be sent to betatesters now and will make sure that a tester of GTplanet can report about it here.

The issues of the GT3 and CSP will be fixes as well. Therefore we need to delay the June shipment for some weeks as we reworked all units. The next shipment will not have any of those issues.

Biggles I have no problem with GT 5P and the wheel. I still fall asleep while driving the prologue but that´s another story :)

Thomas,

are you talking about hardware issues or software issues?

Can I ask a simple favor for those who own the GT3 RS and CSP? I just want to know if I'm the only one who has problems with a possible loose contacts on its wires.

The 3 wires are colored - red, black and white. It connects the brake pedals and the small PCB board. Can anyone do these simple test:

1. Open the Porsche Wheel Property page in order to monitor the braking levels.
2. Touch or move carefully and lightly those 3 colored wires.

Does it activate the brakes even without stepping on the brake pedal? This is my problem. Once those wires where moved or 'disturbed' while playing it would activate the brakes. These manifest as the car starts to slow down even if your on the accelerator. On some games like GTR2 you can notice your driver is stepping on the brakes even you're not actually stepping on it.

I could live with the firmware updates and short lapses on having proper instructions. But having mechanical or electronic problems is too much. I've waited long enough and a possibility of sending it back to Fanatec is already too much of a burden.

I hope somebody would help on this. I already sent an email to their technical support.

Thanks!

PROBLEM SOLVED!

The culprit was the loose connector of those 3 wires that connect to the PCB board. The connection was really poor and it easily be pried. Comparing to most PCB connectors the one that was used doesn't have a clamp to lock the connection. Hence, vibrations from transport or stretching of the wires can aggravate the seemingly 'unsecured' clamp.

For added security I added tapes on those 3 wires connecting fom the load cell and connector to PCB.

The result from my fix is how should the CSP intended to work. Though there's still a small play on the initial press just like an actual brake pedal but it is responsive now on taps and heavy braking. I appreciate now how dialing the preferred pressure for the maximum brake level works.

Thomas,

Both. For example we had to change the design of the Xbox Guide button. But we also have some compatibility issues with some games on the 360 which is just a firmware issue. Nobody ever made a 3rd party wheel fo rthe 360 before so there is a lot of unknown territory here but MS is fully supporting us and helping us to solve all issues. The E3 show was great together with them and FM3 is a hell of a racing game. It got everything you want but i am certainly not objective ;)

@fanatec

will you make more copys of the wheel if you run out , i mean it does say its limited but will you make more?

I hope they do. If not, you wouldn't think there would be many games that support the clutch and h shifter. Why would developers even mess with it, if only 10,000 people owned a wheel to support it.

I thought we were talking about the GT3 RS wheel?

Not in the Junk Mail. Seems many other people did not get the email as well.

As long as the issues are fixed: i.e wiring, lubricant, software/drivers, etc... Then by all means delay. I want my Turbo S/Clubsport package to work out of the box with all 3 systems as advertised.

Another question...

From all the pictures/videos I've seen of people taking apart the Clubsport pedals, it looks as if one could rearrange the pedals, and thus maybe even flip the unit upside down for hanging pedal application. Is this something you had in mind or think possible to do with these pedals?

Logitech DriveFX wheel by Logitech ? Although it did not have any force feedback, Logitech used their own interpretation and implemented their own version.

However I do admire the Turbo Wheel for it's compatabilty with PS3 and 360. In the near future I am hoping I can play Gran Turismo 5 and Forza 3 all with the same wheel and not having to swap between my G25 and MS Wheel 👍

Good times ahead me thinks :)

Not sure why hanging pedals should be better. Otherwise Porsche would make them hang in their cars as well.

Also @ Fanatec

can you make sure your staff at the webshop.usa actually reply to customer inquiries?

We are currently flooded with requests so it will take a little bit longer than normal. But we will reply every single inquiry.

Is it normal to get 3 mm throw when you put the brake to the second hole? Used the extra metal plug in but that´s just some mm longer?

Fanatec resent the email, and this time I got it. YAY!!!

Also...

The Forza 3 included deal was extended to June 10th.

Hi all. Was suggested by a poster on another forum that I come here to ask a question on the Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel / GT5:P compatibility. I've read through a lot of the thread but there are a lot of different wheels being discussed, so apologies if this has already been asked.

I don't know if anyone knows yet... but will the Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel work properly with the PS3 / GT5:P? I understand that it's supposed to be compatible with the PS3 but as it's a considerable chunk of cash I want to make sure in as many places as possible first! I'd guess that this should be able to do everything the Logitech G25 can do (for example)?

I'm quite excited because I said that I wouldn't buy a wheel until I could get one that worked on the PS3 and 360... and this looks like the one. :) Thanks in advance for any help.
