"Plus I like turning left as well as right." :odd:

What in the world does that have to do with anything?

It isn't like it was a surprise that we were giving money up front ahead of the product launch. The delays do suck, but oh well.

I am perfectly fine with a free game as interest, especially since it is the game I was primarily buying the wheel for in the first place.

As for clamping...

Hard mount FTW.

If you don't want to hard mount, and need something stronger than the included, then you can always buy the club sport mount.

I did hard mount. I just can't float $ that far in advance....I'll change my tone/I really don't mean my post to be flames. My apolagizes.(sp)

Unfortunately it seems like I missed this shipment. I e-mailed asking for a shipping estimation and was informed that I would be getting my wheel/pedals "in the coming weeks".

My order was just a wheel, already have the pedals. Maybe that is the difference...

I recall someone saying that the two come separately, even when ordered together. I'd be pretty bummed if the pedals were holding up the wheel or vice-versa.

Edit 9/10 : My wheel and pedals shipped this morning :D

UPDATE 2

We have the technical apporval of MS and we started the production of the electronics and semi finished components. Next week we want to start to assembly the wheels and ship them immediatly by airfreight. This is horrible expensive but only takes a few days.

It may not be to much longer. It looks like they might even beat the release of forza 3. I really wanted it for shift, but I'm just going to get it for the ps3 and use the g25 instead.
Some of my friends want me to get shift for the 360, but they don't use a wheel and I just can't get them to understand how bad the 360 wheel actually is, and that I can no longer use a game pad so the 360 is out of the question until the turbo s wheel actually arrives.

Same here, LOL. I got the PC version of Shift for the same reasons, and PC over PS3 in my case since I also use TrackIR and Nvidia 3D vision 3d glasses, both of which I hope will work in Shift as well as they do on most other PC racing games and sims.

But it will be nice to play a popular game on XBox Live with my friends with a proper wheel when the PWTS comes out. Until then it's GT3RS PC/PS3 wheel to the rescue!

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, I got Shift last night, PC version. After about 45 minutes to install the files (no joke), I discovered it is not (yet?) supported by TrackIR for head movement tracking, and was SO incredibly slow running in stereoscopic 3D with Nvidia 3DVision that I turned that off too. Those were the two reasons I got it for PC instead of PS3.

But it may be just a game issue, or updates needed from Nvidia, TrackIR and/or EA: even with stereo 3D turned off, with details high and 2x or 4x AA there was a major frame drop off compared to every other racing game I have, including Grid, which runs fine on my modern system (even in 3D.) So unless this is patched soon I'm thinking it's best at a console game and I should have gotten the PS3 version (or 360 version when my PWTS wheel arrives to replace the GT3RS!)

"and was SO incredibly slow running in stereoscopic 3D with Nvidia 3DVision that I turned that off too" does your pc have power to run this game at 120 fps? If not lower settings so that it runs. I think 3d halfens framerate and to get 60 you need to have power to do 120fps.

Yep, it does generally 1/2 the rate, but I have a pretty strong rig. Core i7 OC'd with 3GB RAM, GTX285 also overclocked. It runs rFactor in 3D at 65-70FPS, even Grid in 3D at over 60FPS in stereo, so this game must be a very tough video test indeed.

I've been checking out shift on the xbox live forums and people seem to feel it's awful using the M$ wheel. Huge deadzone, and very twitchy steering. I wonder if the turbo s wheel is fully supported by it with 900 degree, and the shifter and clutch. The funny thing is the same people who are complaining about the wheel, are the same people who defend it when you bring up the fanatec wheel to someone who asks which wheel to buy.

Yeah, if I don't get the FPS issues resolved I'll sell the PC disc to someone and get the PS3 version unless my Turbo S comes soon. I'd be curious about the handling with my Fanatec wheels on the console version.
