I would've guessed Hard Trance, but apparently [WIKIPEDIA]Hardstyle[/WIKIPEDIA] is a sub-genre of Trance. I guess that would be a good start.

Damn I must be getting old hahaha ... no offence to anyone because preference is an individual thing! I just cant see what that Cwalk or Hardcore dancing can do for anyone other than bring on the trip or 'E' quicker and probably keep you fit also, visually its not as impressive as break dancing imo and I agree with the heel toe heel toe part as I saw nothing else! a bit like fred astairs feet on speed :lol: .. now the mosh pit part I have seen before at Linkin Park concerts ( which I just happen to be going to in the MEN arena in 17 days time btw ) that face off stuff at the mosh pit then running at each other reminds me of the pre battle scenes from braveheart all thats missing are the kilts ;)

Well we all get old I suppose :p .... not dissing guys! just not impressed ;)

Thats because everyone else in America calls it the "Crip Walk"

Damn.

I just lost £10 on guessing what the "C" stood for.

Don't you have to have crutches to do a crip walk?

i agree, break dancing is far more impressive and i still havnt seen many people top michael jacksons moon walks and his sliding diagonally across the stage barely moving his feet. That guys just glided over the floor.

That'll be Bill Bailey's (no, not that one. The other one. And not Axl Rose either) Moonwalk, which inspired Jeffrey Daniel to popularise it - in 1982 in the dance routine for "A Night to Remember" - who went on to work with... Michael Jackson.

Bill Bailey "Backsliding" in 1955

Jeffrey Daniel "Backsliding" in 1982 on Top of the Pops
(note the ill-fitting short jacket and white gloves)

I actually prefer Jeffrey Daniels version to Michael Jacksons. Amazing to see where it all began.

I love Michael Jackson's slides. and Their worth learning. Its something fun to throw into diffrent songs and everything. Sometimes you can work a Moonwalk or side glide (which I did not see Michael Doing to much) Into allot of things, including fast rap or hip-hop..

@Road_DoggJ33

That vid is Melbourne shuffle,just under a different name

@Small Fryz
Thats Hardstyle, it's basically what happends when hard trance and gabber makes a baby. IT has the gabber/hard trance sound but slower (130-150bpm)

Breaking is fun,I'm learning it myself.

Wasn't Michael Jackson a Locker (style of dance not an actual locker)?

Me thinks that Famine watches QI too...

Soccer AM, actually... :D

Jeffrey Daniel appeared on Soccer AM a while back and they showed the Shalamar clip - he also demonstrated the four-corner Moonwalk and a bunch of others - and they cited Bill Bailey as a predecessor.

So I knew about it before it was on QI. Though I did also see it on QI. :D

The four corner moonwalk is pretty fun, really easy too...

Michael is definatly the king of pop, and dance. He pretty much changed the way we see dancing, and EVERYONE know's he had moves, weather you like it or not. He really did not do any c-walking. and really... Gliding (what he did) is totally diffrent...

EDIT: I just did some reaserch on the name "Kyren" and he's REALLY GOOD, he know's what he's talking about, where's he at?! lmao

I like the sidestepping moonwalk that jackson does better than the regular one... though maybe that's just because I've seen the normal one a million times.

Check this video of Kyren. My favorite video of him C-walking.

He starts dancing at 1:14

Was looking on youtube for some decent breakdancing footage and this vid pretty much has the cream of the crop in it, pretty mad moves for sure! .. check it out!

Who is that? The vinyl they are playing is Ice Cube, but the guy doing the C-Walk looks nothing like him.

AWESOME video. 👍 I love breakdancing.

It's West-Side Connection playing an Ice Cube (solo) song. (The guy cripwalking being that of Dub-C (WC).)

Edit:

The Crip Walk, or C-Walk, is a steady movement of the feet used to spell out gang-related symbols and images. It originated in the early 1970s in Compton, a poor suburb of Los Angeles, California, popularly referenced in rap lyrics. What began as a symbolic movement of the feet in the early 1980s, soon inspired a hip-hop dance in the late 1990s. This style of dance today is known as the Crip Walk.

Everything we know Jackson for - pretty much the 1980s - was taught to him by Jeffrey Daniel - though Daniel says Jackson is a great dancer anyway.

That Breaking vid is I think 2 years old... That's from Red Bull BC one. It's the Biggest individual breakdancing competition in the world, along with Battle of the Year.
