ROFLMAO.Why have PD taken away all the best features from GT5?
People say “oh don’t worry we have updates that will improve the game”
My response to that is “B0llocks”

To each their own. I actually enjoyed the Honda CR-V and Odyssey for a while simply because it cracks me up to beat sports cars with an SUV or minivan. I also do use the Honda S800 sometimes. There are quite a few people who do enjoy the non-supercars - I know it can be annoying for some but they do have their fans alright.
Oh wow. the hilarity.
I was just saying that gt isn't the only racing game. you have options to play. if me telling you that there are options is me belittling your situation, well that says a lot about you.
I responded politely to your original comment, you attack me, then this. Ignorance is bliss, enough said.
Some people just have unrealistic expectations and expect those unrealistic expectations to be met. That's why some people end up feeling gutted just because those unreal expectations weren't met. Almost as if you have to please everyone in every possible way to avoid people being (here is a word I rarely use) "butthurt." Get excited for a game. Be jacked for a game. Hope for an amazing experience. Just one request- be realistic in what you're hoping for vs. what the game provides. Maybe then you won't feel ripped off, it at all.
That unfortunately is the problem, people who have high expectations don't see what they are asking for as unreasonable. I'm not saying that this is you doing that gibo - however I will say that one thing in particular that you mention is not yet fully in place, namely the full online update....Sorry but I don’t think my expectations were unrealistic, I think PD have been expecting us all to dumb down to there level, buy the game and keep quiet and all because it has the GRAN TURMISMO Stamp.

PD have also clearly listened, just not been able to fulfill everything.
Great post JohnBM01.
While at the same time, PD have other things that all other console racing games don't, especially with GT6 - that's down to dilligence of work to get it to the best level they can within the framework they have. I'm not including non-console games here as the capacity of the framework doesn't make for a fair comparison.None of the expectations are unreasonable when the competition has what we've been asking for, and they have one of the biggest budget and development cycles to do it.

Next generation will be closer, which leads to why some of these things, ie: livery editor might not make it onto the PS3. To do a comprehensive editor the way PD would want, and have it work online, I think isn't possible without cutting so much else out. So because people have been asking, does not make it reasonable, not if PD don't feel it is important enough to warrant cutting out other things to facilitate that.
That's my take on this, I doubt that many will agree - but hey. It might not be an ideal situation vis á vis PD, but at the same time, it's not as if they're not listening or trying - simple fact of it all though, is that some will never be satisfied.
Now that's where some of the dissatisfaction stems from, I agree. Logically though, it's their game and it's their choice to do it how they want. It's the players' choice to move on if they are not happy with those choices. Playing the long game though, I feel will be fully rewarding, as that seems to be the way PD work. That's where the argument about poor development choices and allocation of resources comes into play, which has been discussed and re-discussed many times in these forums. Many people would rather have PD focus on having a solid game at release than a full astronomical simulation. Don't get me wrong, the astronomical simulation is cool and something no one else has. Would I rather have that than a stable game, with a stable online with more online features, all cars modeled the same, and a livery editor? No, and a lot of people will agree.
I'm genuinely curious how much time and money was spent on the astronomical simulation, rather than ensuring GT6 was ready to go on Dec. 6th and adding features widely requested by the community they claim to listen to.

Yes.
I've been limiting myself to only 1-2hrs of GT6 per day because I know that once I finish Career events, GT6 will pretty much be done for me. Just like with GT5, the updates and all the promised cool stuff will come after my hype for GT6 wears off and it will be too late.
And this is why you always should do reasearch about a game before buying it. Save yourself from dissapointment and money. There were plenty of information about its 'shortcomings' prior to its release.I paid 599 SEK ~USD 91 ~EUR 68 for a game I thought would be like GT3, and GT5, and what I got was not that. Yes, I will keep playing GT6, but more than that I will play GT5 off line once it goes off line. Unless I get some sort of signal from PD that they actually plan on fixing a load of stuff, and add content, this was the most disappointing X-mas gift I ever gave myself.![]()

Not to mention that it's currently 299 SEK, after two months on the market.

I seriously doubt that the astronomical simulation was instead of anything - it was just a cool idea and it fits in with their ethos and probably didn't take too much focus away from the rest. True, they spent time on working it in, but I don't think that any of that time could have been allocated to one of the things you suggest. With the possible exception of a livery editor, everything PD want in GT6 is being worked on to a schedule.
The full online, as an example, isn't complete yet...but it was mentioned as being the focus of one of the coming updates. The bigger issues such as sounds and parity of the modelling level are things that wouldn't have benefited from the exclusion of the astronomical feature - I say that, because whilst I don't know how long they took over it, those other things will need far longer to complete.
Game instability is something I haven't experienced - in fairness I haven't tried online, but I have noticed none of the things mentioned by people here...EDIT - (Changed due to tiredness at the time): I can think of no piece of software during the past few years that has released trouble free, games especially - it's a massively complex web of possibile interconnections that I wouldn't like to test for and it should be noted that PD are pretty quick at getting a fix out.
Like I said, no software that I know of in the past five or more years has released bug free....The other issue is that we shouldn't have to wait for PD to fix things...
