Anyone else feels this game is just...

France here
I m very surprised how the menus and général interface are.... So strange...no explications for spécial events....how the points system works and how many laps we re supposed to do...
Disapointed ...
The great point is driving
Yep... the problem is that the driving isn't the "great point" of the game... it's the only one. Soo disappointed right now :(🤬🤬:irked::mad::ill::(

Well it is still not removal of content though. Its not like PC version had these cars as standard.

if the RUF CTR or F40 is remove from PS4 version and on sale with a new dlc name. i would call that removal of content dlc

It depends how you look at it. If a game is released, missing content that was said by the devs would be included in the game, then it kinda has been removed. Whether that was Kunos' choice, or 505's, they've changed the plan somewhere along the line.

It doesn't bother me anyway. It's obvious they've done it solely to try to maximise profits, but I won't be paying anywhere near full price for the game anyway.

I have read in here since quite a while. I knew what AC was due to all the detailed info posted by the pc guys. I decided first to skip it because of Peugeot not being in and it being mainly for hotlapping.

The positive feedback on the feel of driving and the price here in France made me buy the game. However I didn't have very high expectations but was rather excited to test it out. I can surely see where all the complaints are coming from and I can even understand people being disappointed by the product. I have my list of issues as well but overall I enjoy this more than pCARS for example even if the latter is much richer on content, has weather and better graphics. AC does something to me that pCARS failed to do and I can not explain exactly what it is.

Beside the points already mentioned by others, I am not an online racer so the multiplayer I don't care for. This to me feels a lot like the first TOCA on PSX. It was graphically not the most impressive, I didn't had much content, it was hard but I liked it. The same is for AC, I simply like it and I like it a lot. Many cars I don't care for in this game but the Alfa 155 is my little pearl with the Abarth 500 Cup Car as a decent second.

With the challenges and the career I wait until it gets more balanced. For now you will have to search yourself which races are fun to do. I needs a bit of exploring and testing.

Currently I am a very happy customer 👍 but I expect stuff to be fixed.

No my friend, the first Toca was amazing because it had not only gameplay but also a great championship mode with qualify, points for driver and team championship with 8 different cars of the same category and dynamic wheater, great damage system, career coop, main race (with pit stop and strategy) and quick race and dynamic goal to achieve, Assetto Corsa has some category here and there but you can't do anything with them, anything! Only single races with mixed random categories without points, strategies, box...nothing... it really shameful that a game so old win so easily compared to a 2016 game SHAMEFUL!!!

The biggest fault is ours, of the gamers, because nowdays we tollerate so many bull***t and lack of features whereas some times ago it was not like this... we were more severe and selective!!!

like it plays 100% like an arcade in 3rd person view

Well, 3rd person view is an arcade view.

it seems this game on PS4 and on PC are two completely different games.

From what I've seen, not really. AC has always been bare bones on PC and has received plenty of criticism for that. There are a few things and a few options missing from the console build at the moment, but it's not drastically different from what we have on PC. It was never going to have as many options or features as PCars and I don't think anyone ever claimed it would (quite the opposite in fact).

The thing I find quite disturbing is the removal of content from the PC version, to be sold as DLC later on. Kunos said before the game came out that it would be released with all current PC DLC in the vanilla console game, which it clearly doesn't.

Didn't they say that when the game was still planned to be released in May, before the Japanese Pack and Red Pack were released? So, for the most part they stuck to their word and other than the pre-order cars it released with all the content that was available at the time of that statement.

so sad to hear its got so many console players disenchanted, i really thought ac would blow people away with its accurate physics feel and online play. I have the PC version on a g27 and play online, LAN, and hotlap and i spend way too much time on it! I saw the console addition as a way to help the team build the game into a better sim version of a GT or forza with all the money that it would add.....

I hope, at least, in a good amount of patches and adds in this current year... because in this state the game is so... meh... :(

This is one of the worst use of the word arcade, sorry if I'm being frank. I often find people use the word sim and arcade to get their point across, but most of the time they misused the word and twisted it's meaning. Simulator also allows what can't be done in real life ( from planned scenarios, parameter/value testing, to training with different condition ) viewing options is one of them, that does not make it less realistic ( the word that I would use ). What if the cockpit view have the 3D polygons removed, and left you with just the road as if you are floating, does that means it's arcade view now ? Simply because the dash/windscreen/hood is not there ?

I won't even start with people using the word simcade :grumpy:, dumbest word ever invented ( IMO ) -

I think the biggest difference in experience will come from mods, plugins, etc. All PC players use these to enhance their experience (it's one of the big plus points of the PC version). Console players get none of that and are thus stuck with the bare bones game. Another thing to consider is that eventually, console and PC versions will be on-par feature wise, but there's no timeline to be given here...

You could be right, I don't remember when I read the interview. If that's the case, perhaps they should have corrected that statement when they decided they wouldn't be releasing it with all the up to date DLC built in.

Don't think it would have made much difference, people still would have whinged.

What are you DS4 settings? I tried with a few and always felt like the car was on drift mode. Also the 3rd person view from PC is amazing.

Don't know, I use a CSW V2 with cockpit view. I think the only other view I've ever used is the new dash view, and that was only for a lap or two.

To be fair to Kunos, they did explain why the Japanese and Red packs weren't included from day 1 on consoles. They simply didn't have enough time to transfer them before the game went gold. Those two packs were only released on 14th July for PC.

I just hope they get the online part sorted so we can get some good racing.

I've never cared much for the career or campaign options.

I just cant get the motivation to sit down and play for hours on end against fake AI. Give me real people and proper battles.

The game is the best I have ever driven on console and if we can get some decent turn outs in the lobbies with online time comparisons / setups I'll be very happy.

Marco said months ago that the console version would launch with all current PC DLC content in the vanilla game. Of course it's fair to the PC crowd, they've had the game for ages. They paid for the content when it came out, and have been able to enjoy it for a while now. It's like saying it's unfair that PC gamers can get AC much cheaper than console gamers can.

The same argument could be had for people who wait a year to buy "complete editions". The players who enjoyed the game from day one and bought all the DLC aren't getting ripped off by the company selling the title with all DLC at a reduced cost a year later, just the same as PC owners aren't losing out from console owners getting all the current up to date content for the full price of the game.

Besides, I somehow doubt Kunos removed that content out of some desire to create fairness, or to not upset the PC crowd. They've done it in a blatant attempt to get as much cash out of the console crowd as possible.
We've got dream pack 1, 2 and 3. Those other packs were part of dlc plans for after console release in april. In fact those other 2 packs are not even ready for console as they are still being ported. So there was no removal of content. Except for the drag strip which I'm pretty pissed about. Has anyone come across an explanation for that? I'm also finding the ds4 works perfectly so don't understand people saying it's crap. I'm finding online good except for lack of options of course. Not sure why people were expecting an arcade experience with sim physics when it's always been known what it was. I bet there wouldn't even be a career if it were not for people asking for it.

It's mixed. When I got in the 458 and took it around Monza, it blew me away. When I was in the Yellowbird at Brand Hatch, I was disappointed. Driving the Ferraris have been the best experience so far.

What was it about the YB at BH that disappointed you? Are you able to turn up the turbo boost to 100% on console?

Let me try that tonight and see if it helps. Felt lifeless driving. The car's model looked dated and the track graphics as well.

I meant arcade experience as in video game, a gamey experience.

I think to be fair Kunos adding a mode where a timer counts down is so arcade its untrue, that's basically back to OutRun or SuperHangOn!
I was half expecting having floating gates to go through at one point.

How can having some gameplay depth be somehow twisted around to be "arcade experience". Games that are lacking gameplay depth are basically glorified tech demos. That's just making excuses for Kunos releasing a half finished game for full price.

The ironic thing about that claim, is that they actually chucked in a game mode that was in all the traditional arcade racing games back in the 90s.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly 👍

FFB feels GREAT (using a T150/T3PA Pro setup)
Have FFB set to 50% overall and it feels excellent to me.
Graphics are plenty good enough for me, although I have noticed some of the tearing people are talking about.

Stock setups have been good for the most part, but I've just been hot lapping so far.

I've only played a couple of hours so far, but have tried a lot of car/track combos and for the most part they all felt great. Very pleased so far. Hopefully the online lobby situation will get better with patches/more people playing the game.

While I do agree that the game is underwhelming and incomplete, no-one seems to be mentioning its genius usage of 5.1 surround sound. I was absolutely floored by the startup video, and placing each tire's squeal put to its respective speaker was quite clever! The glitch where music sometimes plays through one speaker is pretty weird, though...

I hope someone can answer this for me.

In career mode on PS4, how do I know how many laps the race is going to be and how do I know how much fuel I need to put in the car beforehand? It seems a bit silly to have to start the race just see how many laps there are then to go to the pits and guess how much fuel to put in to then restart.

I am sick of running out of fuel. I put fuel in for a 6 lap race only to have it start and it is a 20 lapper. I think I just have enough but run out 2 laps (or last lap!!!) from the end.

So I picked up my pre-order earlier, they never called me to pick it up yesterday. Popped it in, drove the Abarth 500, and some other cars....

I'll be honest, between the delay news of GTS and then playing this craptastic thing...this is me right now:

I just wished we'd moved further along from "must finish in top 3 to progress" or a ticking timer running down with magic gates to start timer again, it has the DNA within of finishing 4th and it saying "GAME OVER....please insert coin to continue"
It can't get much more arcade. It's like somewhere along the line Kunos were misinformed about what gamers want in 2016 and like PCars never exsited, hell even Codies are starting to work it out again now!
