Anyone Else Find The Seasonal Events Easy?

Hi, this is my first post so please forgive me for any facepalm moments.
I've been reading on this forum for a long time though :)
I've been reading about people struggling with the Seasonal Events.
Personally I found these ridiculously easy and finished all of them at my first attempt (apart from the Dodge Challenger one, had to quit to change gearing to a higher top speed).
I've even read about people having trouble with the Fiat 500 race!
All I did was left all the fine tuning as it was (apart from the Dodge Challenger gearing) and bought the best parts possible. Such as all tuning parts with max BHP and min kg in mind. Add on some aero parts and there you go. For many of the races I had the lead by lap 3 or 4.
I don't see what the problem is, or is it just that people are reluctant to spend money?
 
it's because you're good and we're not.

Or possibly that we insist on winning without adding parts.
 
i found them all pretty easy, but i can't get better than silver on the fiat race :P

Only had 3 goes so far and all aids turned off. Might but the aero parts as you suggested.

But wouldn't it be better to get Gold on it whilst it's still there before challenging yourself by using an underdog?
 
Yeah, but maybe they will get harder over time...the Fiat 500 was quite tough to me, took me about 10 times then finished all 1st place in about 4-5 hours after the patch ;)

Hopefully the rewards will be greater too!

Yeh, you're right.

But I like to keep cars the way they are. I only add HP, reduce weight of those little japanese cars I never heard of.
A Fiat 500 with 200+ HP doesn't feel like a fiat 500 anymore.

I could use the money tho. :(

They will be there for a while yet, and winning with and underdog is infinitely more satisfying. Any old pleb can win in some monstrosity with every part.
 
First time I ran the Fiat 500 race I got Silver, and was a good 2 or 3 seconds behind first place. Did the upgrades that were aloud (Aero pack, window weight reduction) and ran it again and won by 2 seconds. It's a close race no matter what you do, and there's no room for mistakes. Having said that it's quite slow moving so relativley easy to do with out making a mistake.

Moving onto some of the other races tonight, so will see what they are like.
 
I did the Fiat 500 one second try, golded CRX first go, silver in RX-7 after 1 go but only 2 tenths off gold.. the Skyline one I've also only tried once and got bronze but was still like 20 seconds off gold.. I think this is the only one that will be a real challenge

If all the cars were the same, then yeah, I wouldn't change the car.
But one of the reasons I immediately gave my car the best of the best was because I though that they would be much harder than the Special Events after I looked at some of the rewards.

I was leading the race by lap 3 for those ones, I had a lot of fun in the Fiat though :D
Never knew it could take the last corner flat out!

I think this is why so many people are finding it hard
 
The skyline challenge is very much a challenge, i tried it with an R32 and was 8 seconds off the lead, just too slow. Jump into the standard GTR'09 and no problems at all. Fiat race was easy and confused why people have trouble with it

Maybe buying aero parts helped me?
I had a lot of room for error on the last corner, just felt nice and smooth.

Yeah, I got a GTR '09 and tuned it to the max, it was my first seasonal event too and I Won it by 3 seconds.
Won it first attempt.

As long as you get the tuning right, its easy in the '09 GT-R. Max weight reductions and definitely change the torque distribution to about 45/55 (you get great traction out of the corners then)
 
no tuning needed, added the parts and didnt change any settings.

I didn't touch the tuning, I got great enough traction as it is.

But for people struggling with this one, its a definite way of making it a bit easier...

Do you drive with all of the aids off?

I leave everything as default.
I drive without TCS sometimes.
I've read on here about turning ABS off.
People have said that when ABS is off, the brakes are unrealistic and that when you touch the brake pedal the car locks up too easily.
So as a result they said ABS 1 in GT5 = ABS 0 in real life.

For some of these events (especially the slower, very understeery ones!) turning the anti skid thing on makes them so much easier. I prefer the challenge though!

I know it sounded like I'm bragging and I apologise for that.
But this forum has a lot of Gran Turismo nuts, which makes me wonder why they struggled with the Fiat 500 race. There are even some real life racers here.

In the Fiat 500 race I Personally think you would have to be in the Alien leauge to be able to get into first by the end of the 3rd lap if it's indeed possible at all. I consider myself a reasonable GT5 driver and had the lead going into the first hairpin on lap 5.
 
I got silver in them all, and wasn't really close to challenging for gold in any of them :s using DS3 and I did put all the parts on. Skid recovery off as well....

Now I know I didn't give them much time, and that my driving isn't going to be perfect, but I see NO way of being in the lead before lap 5, or at best only taking the lead towards the end of lap 4.... Otherwise I am missing a BIG trick with these events somewhere!

They're as easy as you make them. Obviously, if you buy all the non-power and non-weight reducing mods, then you will find it easy.

Try and do them in a car as close to stock as you can manage, then they're not so easy.
 
Not that easy. Just a good challenge. Each one has been fun!
