Anyone Else Find The Seasonal Events Easy?

I think seasonal events dificulty is now about right. They offer more challenge generally than A-spec events and try to push you to actually tune car suspension for easier victories.

try the time trial, i dont think you will even be close top 50. the first 4-6 hours.

I see them pretty much as Mission Races from GT4 and I like them. Best thing is that we'll be getting constant updates every 15 days (B-Spec is next probably, since all of these are A-Spec only).

Agree and hope you are correct on the updates. They act as a break from the usual 'career' mode and the recent ones were very well put together.

To the OP: there are two ways of doing things; throw everything including the kitchen sink at it, or take a bit more time trying to use skills and tuning techniques to get gold. End result in the same, it is just a different route that people take.

I liked SS5 the most because I used a bit of everything; skill/experience, upgrades (I could have bought more) and tuning (suspension and TSD) - plus the spread out AI was much more interesting and fun.

Hi, this is my first post so please forgive me for any facepalm moments.
I've been reading on this forum for a long time though
I've been reading about people struggling with the Seasonal Events.
Personally I found these ridiculously easy and finished all of them at my first attempt (apart from the Dodge Challenger one, had to quit to change gearing to a higher top speed).
I've even read about people having trouble with the Fiat 500 race!
All I did was left all the fine tuning as it was (apart from the Dodge Challenger gearing) and bought the best parts possible. Such as all tuning parts with max BHP and min kg in mind. Add on some aero parts and there you go. For many of the races I had the lead by lap 3 or 4.
I don't see what the problem is, or is it just that people are reluctant to spend money?

Pretty arrogant for a first post . Fact is many people play the game with different levels of experience and skill. Some use DS3 and some have a wheel. These events can be much harder on DS3 as throttle control and steering are much more prone to error. 5 perfect laps in a row is thought with the smaller amount of wiggle room the controller gives you. I am sure It can be done with the controller, but I am getting silver and bronzes with it. I do not see a reason for you to make a new post about how much better you are than people who can't seem to complete this "easy" challenge; there is already a post about the seasonal races.

These along with the special events are by far the best thing in GT5. I only use he DS3, and a lot of wheel people seem to think that's cheating, and yet others think its a handicap.
Everyone races as they see fit, and if you race faster with a wheel or DS3, whats the diff?

These challenges were really good, its a shame we have to wait a few weeks to get some new ones tho.

Tuning isn't necessary for these events, as installing the Fully adjustable suspension will already alter the effects of the car, you don't need to change it more.

Smooth driving will win 8 of 10 times. However, the R32 wont win the Skyline race

won the first 5 events with some nice driving. Imo they add a little extra to the game but saying, use this car and don't push the power of the car up. So in order to get a gold medal (for some easy, for others hard) you have to tune the handling...

In this forum there are many people with a wide variation of skill levels. That's all there's to it. I personally have no qualms admitting that I found them challenging. Polyphony can't and shouldn't design events only for the "pros" out there, frustrating the vast majority of their playerbase, which is made by car porn lovers most of which don't even have a wheel.

guess im really horrible then, 2nd on the fiat, 2nd on the cr-z(all stock) and only tried once, it did seem easier than the fiat race.

the rx7 took me 2 laps to pass one car just cuz the thing handles like poo and wouldnt stay on the track. then again i havent played gt in about 5 years either. oh well im content with the 2nd place payouts and experience.

Make sure you put the race transmission in there, and up to top speed to around 165ish. I didn't have too much trouble with just the transmission upgrade, but still took about three or four tries I think.

I had a lot of room for error on the last corner, just felt nice and smooth.

Opposite for me, the Challenger race and RX7 were mind numbingly easy, the others took a few tries, and I can't place higher than 2nd on the Fiat 500 one.

I bought the Challenger...changed the oil and went over the HP limit. Worst of all I realized this after I bought all the other non-power parts such as suspension, tranny etc.

Buy the race suspension and transmission, that should do the trick.

I did the Fiat 500 one second try, golded CRX first go, silver in RX-7 after 1 go but only 2 tenths off gold.. the Skyline one I've also only tried once and got bronze but was still like 20 seconds off gold.. I think this is the only one that will be a real challenge

after trying the skyline challenge a few times i managed silver but was off 1st place by 12 sec. That was with the R34, guess I'll buy a '09 and try again.

Only had 3 goes so far and all aids turned off. Might but the aero parts as you suggested.

Well, I only achieved one GOLD.. the Muscle Cars with the Challenger R/T. I managed Silver in all other events.


If folks, who have achieved GOLD... could post their setups and tweaking points for the harder one... that would be Great for me.

for the fiat race, i put suspension and a full cos. tranny on.
tweaked some with the front camber so it turns a bit better en tranny reasonably low. also aero parts (look great on the 500!) Won by a 5sec lead

GT Auto. Then go to the Aero/Body parts section. You can add front and rear skirting and also a rear wing.

I found that most of them were interesting but not overly hard. The Challenger and the CRZ were the easiest for me winning both on the first try. The Fiat and the RX7 each took 2 trys to get gold and I am having some issue on the GTR race. Perhaps I picked the wrong car and this is not one of my better tracks as of yet but after running it twice I have finished 8th on the first try and 4th on the second.

Either I need a different car or more practice on this track, or both.

This is my first real post on this site after sayiny introducing myself.

I have found the new races good but the first one with the Fiat I have only still got silver. Then went and made the mistake of changing the oil and hsving 1bhp to much. the rest I had to make few changes to the cars nothing major except the gear ratio on the Challenger R/T. The GTR race I tried to use my R32 gtr (Standard version) and was shown the door by most of the other cars to only come 5th at best. I baught a GTR 09 model tuned up as much as I could with all areo parts and 1st time round was an easy 2nd only getting beat by few seconds. After a little time I got it.

HBR-Roadhog- I hope what I done on GTR race might help you out as I know how much of a pain in the ass it can be to get stuck.

If anyoe knows the secret to getting 1bhp off your car and any hints with the Fiat race it would be very much appreciated.

I cannot figure out the RX-7 event. To me it feels like using the Countach for the Historic Racing Cup, a tail happy car that eats tires and understeers badly. I eventually used the '69 RM Camaro to beat the Histoic Racing Cup cause the Countach did not suit my driving style.

How can I get the RX-7 through the corners faster without eating tires? It understeers so I throw the rear end out which eats the tires, yet then cannot power out of the corner without spinning. I have the suspension and aero mods applied, probably just need a better tune.

I am using the GT-R V spec with the highest HP allowed for the challenge with the maximum weight reductions and the best I can do is 4th. I am also using the DS3 to race. I second this. I ran the Fiat race 3 times. I ran 3rd, 2nd,2nd. I only added hp to get me the max allowed and did the max weight reduction. This shaved off 6 seconds to get me into second twice. But I wouldn't say that the Seasonal Races are easy. There are a lot of casual hardcore GT fans (such as myself) that play GT. I would considered myself average or slightly above it. When the cars are pretty even in specs, it makes it very challenging for us. It requires several attempts to improve positioning. I haven't raced them all but I have only managed 2nd place so far for the first two races with the methods I have tried. Hats off to you all that can get gold within 3 runs.

I did not notice tire wear even being on in that event.

I lowered the car, set the camber to.5 front and rear and found it to be enough to do. Just be careful in the corners. 1st race I finished 2nd second race I took 1st with one lap to go.

Never knew it could take the last corner flat out!

Leading by 3rd lap in Fiat? I took the first place on the last corner of 5th lap... Can you upload your replay? It seems that my racing line needs a lot of improvement.

For me, I decided to see how close to stock I could keep the cars and still win. There are only five events and they're there for 2 weeks so didn't see the point in upgrading straight away and blasting through them

After many goes on the Fiat one, I eventually had to upgrade with air filter and light windows to get the win. The second one was slightly disappointingly easy after that as it was an easy win on 1st attempt with no upgrades. The RX-7 one was a nice challenge and took a good few attempts but I won it with no upgrades. Really enjoyed it as the car does like to slide around quite a bit. The 4th one was also fun and only needed the gearbox upgrade. Still took a fair few goes to win it as I struggled to stop the car understeering wide. Satisfying when it all came together though. And the last one, I'm going to try tonight. I've already had quite a bit of challenging and very enjoyable gameplay by doing it this way and there's still a bit more to come.

That's not to criticise others for doing it others ways of course. Each to their own and all that.

Hopefully with some non-power mods and some practice I can get the Gold tonight.

I had problems with SSR5.
Until I put Sports Soft on instead of Medium. 💡

But what do you want? If it was easy for you, that means your good. Pretty darn good.
If they make it harder, we'll have to read 37 threads about "I can only finish 6th".
And then we'll have to listen to diehards tell more casual/less talented players to shove it, cause they want GT to be all about the best 5% of players playing.

Put the best parts possible if you want.
Including flywheels etc.
Add aero parts too.

Leading by 3rd lap in Fiat? I took the first place on the last corner of 5th lap... Can you upload your replay? It seems that my racing line needs a lot of improvement.

As someone said before, you may not know that you can take the last corner flat out.
