I'll post my "mini-review" here as well in case some people don't go to the other thread (which seems to be the case as it has only garnered one response, and that was from me!)
I saw it Saturday night. It was pretty funny, but not on par with South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut by any means. Some of the humour was over the top, particularly an oral sex scene before the climax of the film that lost the audience a bit.
As usual, though, the songs are some of the best parts of the movie. Well, that and the super-racism to be found throughout. Kim Jong-Il (sp?) is one of those characters depicted with such a flagrant prejudiced and racist attitude that it actually becomes funny, to a degree.
Overall it's worth seeing, but I don't think it will ever become a classic or even achieve the status of South Park. It's also rated 18A in Canada, so teenagers need an over-18-year-old to get in.
Of all the songs, besides "America, **** Yeah!" (obviously) my favourite was the "Montage" song, and the one that goes, "Pearl Harbour sucked"...I think it was called something like "I Need You (Like Ben Affleck Needs Acting School)."
The songs weren't as good as the South Park ones, but still catchy. I only saw the movie once and all week I've been singing "Freedom isn't fre, it costs fols like you and me..." and "America, **** yeah! So lick my a$$ and suck on..." well, you get the picture.
