Enjoyed Daytona so much I rushed to my Alt account to open up multiplayer just in time to qualify second, yees. Race strarts and I'm in the wrong car, a Subaru, my Jag is 5 places ahead rudderless and going off at T1.F.

That penalty zone is a nightmare and cause loads of issues in my races. Anyone serving a 3 second penalty ends up causing a accident at T1. Your doing 120mph while car behind comes flying in at 160mph.

Finally got a decent result after 3 attempts.
Attempt 1 & 2 was awful. Decent quals for both but races I was picking up penalties for unavoidable stuff. Tried to fuel save in race 1 & 2 and if it wasn’t for the penalties I could have made it work I think. Had decent pace but race 2 got held up by a M6 that was slow in the turns but quick on the straight. I’d get past in the twist but then overtaken on the back straight.

Race 3 was good. Q8 and jumped P7 at T1. Rest of the race was ran on mix1 flat out. Ran in P3 and was in a 3 way with P2 & P4. Made an error at the chicane and got a track limits. Decided to pit asap to not lose too much time. Over fuelled by maybe a lap and half so I could run mix1 all race. Made the undercut work and popped out P3. P4 was catching but couldn’t hold out. M6 was too good for the Aston Martin Vantage down the straights.

I like Daytona Road Course but after tonights horrible races I’m done on that track now a bit.

I only tried Daytona once today, and got a decent result on. Albeit with some ridiculous penalties.
In the GR Supra I was able to qualify in P7 with a 1:47.2

Stayed in P7 at first, until lap 2 when Levitius in front spun out. Couldn't avoid hitting him, but luckily I did not get a penalty and that hit managed to help him survive. Another one lost control in the bus stop and thus I was now in P5.
At the beginning of lap 4 I messed up turn 1 and fell down to P7 behind aforementioned driver Levitius.
I stayed behind him and bump drafted him, so we could catch up and overtake cars in front. That got us up to P3 and P4 and getting closer to P2 each lap.

Unfortunately for me, in lap 11 the legendarily flawed GT penalty system kicked in and I got a 2 second penalty for bump drafting. I have no idea why, the bump wasn't even that hard.
That penalty got me down to P7 once again... :banghead:

I then profited of one error and another penalty to get back up to P5, where I stayed until the end of the race. Was really close with fuel too... But 243 points is a decent enough result so I did not go again.

So, it turns out I stink at the Daytona Road Course. So, I had no expectations going into the final round tonight. Once again I enter the first 21:00 slot and and I just want to get this race done. I qualify P13 which is where I thought I would be. The race starts and chaos for the first lap as people are everywhere and I go to P9. That would last until the next lap where someone went off track and rejoined and hit my rear quarter panel that sends me flying in the West Horseshoe turn (T5). So I fall to last and stay there the rest of the race. A few penalties from cutting the track coming out of the bus stop and a few turns I go way deep doesn't help my situation. I almost hit the wall head on from missing my brake point going into turn 1 while adjusting my fuel map. I finish P13 in the end.

Speaking of fuel maps, I did manage to pull off a no stop race with myself crossing the finish line with 0% fuel again. I considered stopping, but I wanted to see of I could do it. Plus, it was good practice for any future fuel saving races.

Overall, I had a good experience with this season. I'm not a top GT2 driver, but I still think I did OK for my skill level. Any opportunity to test my skills is a welcome one, and getting more experience is always a good thing. I do think I will move on from Aston Martin for the next season as I want to try something else. I haven't decided on what though.

Well, that was, uh...something.

Slot 1: Qualified 7th, which became 5th at the end of the opening lap when someone ahead was punted off, and the punter got a penalty that they served at the end of the lap. After that I was in a train for several laps with a Citroen GT just in front and a 4C just behind me. We eventually caught a GT-R who I then passed after they served a bus stop cut penalty, moving me up into 4th. Then on Lap 6 for some reason the 2nd curb at the bus stop grabbed my car and sent it spinning into the median, costing me the spot to the 4C and dropping me back to 5th. the GT-R I'd passed earlier after they served their short cut penalty then nearly got past me as I got back up to speed, but I held the spot into T1. I stayed there for another couple laps and was pulling away from the GT-R when I got a short cut penalty at the bus stop, finally losing the spot to the GT-R, dropping me back to 6th. The WRX that had been punted off in front of me on Lap 1 then caught and passed me at the West Horseshoe and put me back down to where I started in 7th. I got by the GT-R again on the banking, and caught and went by the Subaru just before T1, only I'd only just barely cleared him before braking, and I braked earlier than he was expecting, so he accidentally punted me wide and dumped me back to 7th...

Then the same lap, the Subaru inexplicably completely missed the bus stop and tried to rejoin near the exit, killing the momentum of all 3 of us and earning himself a 2s penalty. By now, a Peugeot VGT that had been rapidly catching us was now on our collective tails. Me and the GT-R both moved around the outside of the Subaru to overtake it, and the VGT tried to go between us and the WRX, while I'd also begun moving down to try to overtake the GT-R. Our lines converged and the VGT got squeezed between me and the WRX, but somehow the WRX got the worst of it and wound up being speared into the outside wall right as it had begun serving its penalty. Now I was back up to 6th...actually, 5th because someone ahead pitted! Then, someone else ahead spun at the exit of the West Horseshoe and promoted me back up to 4th!

I overtook the GT-R...again...headed into the bus stop to put myself on the provisional podium, before the VGT from earlier blew by me on the run from the bus stop to T1, putting me back into 4th. For the rest of the race (this was Lap 12), I just sat in the VGT's slipstream and took the opportunity to save a bit of fuel and hopefully attack at the end.

My chance came exiting the bus stop for the final time, with only a banked turn between us and the finish line. The VGT messed up the exit of the chicane, which allowed me to pull alongside, but the VGT easily accelerated ahead of me again in spite of his poor exit. At the same time, ANOTHER Peugeot VGT that had been between 1 and 1.5s behind me for several laps apparently had the best run that was physically possible through the bus stop because he was all over both of us and poised to easily pass and take 3rd. At the same time, I moved back to the inside of the first VGT to try anything to keep whatever position I could. At the same I moved over, the VGT that had been in 3rd ran out of fuel, causing me to make contact with his left rear, which sent him into the other VGT on the outside before eventually spinning. Feeling terrible because I thought I caused the wreck (I didn't know he had run out of fuel and was unexpectedly slowing as a result), I tried to slow down before crossing the finish line, and in fact the VGT that was about to overtake us both did finish ahead of me on track for what should've still been 3rd, but he picked up a penalty for being hit by the other VGT as it was spinning and finished 6th. That meant I finished 3rd, the VGT that was originally in 3rd finished 4th, and the VGT that SHOULD'VE had 3rd finished 6th.

This was the scene at the finish:

The order on screen is actually 6th, 3rd (me), and 4th.

After a couple of practice sessions in the Vantage it was very clear it would be wildly uncompetitive here. It is so slow in a straight line.

I was expecting to skip it until I had an epiphany this morning. Why not buy the DBR9 and see if it’s quicker. Within 6 practice laps I had turned a high 48 into a mid 46.
Now that is interesting.

I am happy to be corrected on this but I was under the impression that you had to drive the cars delivered to you when you signed the manufacturer contract.

From your report, this appears not to be the case in GT7.

Has anyone else come across this before and is this a feature or a bug?

what a wild ride!!!

My night:

Z4M GT3 cause I wasn't about to drive that M6 GT3.

I qualified 3rd with a 1:47.xx. 1st place guy spun at T3, and 2nd place guy spun at T5 on the first lap. Since the rest of the room was a little slower, I started to walk away and managed to fiddle between FM6, and FM3 on the straights and FM2 in the infield for no pit strategy. I almost messed up the exit to bus stop on the last lap but luckily kept it together to the end. This one was a tough one for me but not as tough as Fuji Speedway.

Interesting Daytona race for me, 23:00 slot GT1 A/S lobby. I did a practice race beforehand and found I could do a no stopper by short shifting the Corvette. I picked up a penalty on my flying lap in qualifying and had to settle for P9. The race starts and I watch the carnage unfold ahead of me in T1 as I make it through unharmed. Lots of people leaning on each other and banging around early on, and I move up to P6. Around the halfway point a Genesis turns me off track at T2, I thought I was done. I get back on track and keep running, to my surprise the majority of the field starts making pit stops. After a brief battle with a WRX and a few more spinners I find myself P4 on the final lap. Coming to the checkers the WRX ahead of me runs out of fuel in the tri-oval and I go sailing by at wide open throttle to finish P3 on 1% fuel remaining. I was pretty pleased to come back from the incident and finish on the podium, 6 positions gained, clean race bonus, and 166 points.

You seem to have the choice of what you have in the garage (provided it's the right class and manu) with the loaners being provided in case you don't.

No reason to think it's a bug at this time.

Did 2 races on my main European account on the Mclaren. First race with no warmup qualified p6 and finished p7 after 2 very rough first laps where the pack was rubbing on each other like crazy people. Did one stop and was on fm1 the whole race.

The 2nd race I qualified p8 with a better time than the first race. Went off track on the first lap, recovered to p7 and went off track again so I decided to try a no stop. Had to go full fm6 on the last 2 laps to make it and finished 12 out of 13 left.

Races were fun and had no issues with connecting. Are people still having issues?

Didn’t do any races on my US account where I signed for bmw. The first one was at 2am.

I’m ready for next seasons.

Racing in GT3 C/S

Nations Cup Rd. 8 Suzuka was a bit stressful. Qualifyings went well with P5 and P2 in the Atenza, but punting and shoving everywhere and my inability to make 10+ Laps in Suzuka without throwing it away at least once made it hard to get a good result.
Called it a day after P8 result in the second race. (after P11 in the first.)

Daytona in the Mazda was a breeze. The car needs only one lap worth of fuel-saving. Short shifting and a bit of coasting before the chicane and T1 in FM1 does the trick. Qualified in P2 and prepared for an intense race as in GT3 nobody does fuel saving.
The race started surprisingly civilised. I kept P2 until the Pole Setting Ferrari!!! binned his car in the Infield on Lap 2.
The cars behind me fought the whole race for positions as if is was the last lap so I could run my race in solitude and coast to an easy win for a whooping 48 Points. :D

Gotta love the Black Screen of Death. Now waiting for Slot 1's qualifying to start for the final Nations Cup race.

Edit Well Slot 1 was a non starter. Track simply refused to load and let us go out and qualify.

Hoping for better luck in Slot 2.

Here are my final results for Manu. A good season in GT1 with some good DR building and 583 points scored. Still have been on the podium in every GT7 Manu race not counting the disconnect. Once again the wording of the results and the leaderboards do not coincide. 1st in Iowa, the only one. That rank I believe is isolated to your Manufacturer, not all players in Iowa. 5th in USA is also Manufacturer-specific. 175th in North America really means 175th in N. and S. America across all players. My lobbies have been paying more and more points so hopefully I am on the cusp of something better, maybe becoming a high A or low A+ player.

Time to fix the connection issues, PD.

I will continue with Subaru no matter what. Got a real WRX being delivered in two weeks to sit by the Outback and Crosstrek in the garage so I wouldn't have it any other way. Remember everyone that there will likely be BoP adjustments soon so don't judge the cars by the first two season performances. I suspect a nerf incoming for the Subarus.

It's weird that only the top 3 results count, that's not a lot...
That's why my rank is worse than Nations Cup despite having missed more races there...

GTWS Manufacturers Cup Test Season 2 - Round 9
McLaren GR. 3 - Daytona Infield
GT1 League - A+/S room

Slot 1
- A complete disaster. Lap 1 I got pushed into another car in turn 3 and received a 4 second penalty. Then missed my braking a few laps later and killed someone, waited on them, a few laps later I hit the invisible wall. Last place.

Slot 2 - I’m in the McLaren so there is the losing strategy and the losing fun strategy. I chose losing fun! One stopper. Qualify in 7th with a 1:46.7xx and kept the football on the pedal. Hammer down! I was bumper to bumper with two Alfas and a Jag for 12 laps. They had really good pace so despite not saving fuel, I couldn’t make a move stick. The racing and car placement was intense though. Twelve intense laps later, I pit. Dropped back from p5 to p11. Chase down p10 and then p9 dies coming out of the last turn before the straight. Finish p8, barely holding off a hard charging p9. As good as a win, made a fun race out of what would’ve been a slow fall towards last.

Finished 6th for McLaren, very pleased with that!

After my best result of the season at Daytona, I jumped from 114th to 83rd in the standings, meeting one of my goals of finishing in the Top 100. Even though my 2 favorite tracks were Gr.4 races, all of my counted results (and all of my 200+ point scores) were in Gr.3 because the Gr.4 Corvette is just so awful compared to everything else.

My result also catapulted me up from 7th in the Chevy rankings to a tie for 2nd. Now hopefully the Gr.4 BoP gets an update so the Corvette is no longer a turd...again...

Checked my final results for the Manu. Cup today to find out that the sudden disconnection from my second run of RD.9 erased all of my first run points (which was 96 points from my last place finish). I would like to stick with Ford weirdly enough.

Yes, it would. Only your last entry in each round counts, and if your last entry was a 0 through disconnecting...

Fairly certain this is a loophole that will eventually close. It's clear as day how a huge advantage this gives certain Manus.

I did trot out the Gr3 Lambo one last time at Daytona. Surprisingly drivable except at the bus stop where I had to overlay brake and throttle going in while using Map 3 on exit for stability. Even so, the car is so slow on a straight that a Genesis that spun past the bus stop got back going and we were nose to nose going the same speed at the line. Naturally, I ended up dead last about an entire minute behind the leader.

Basically, Lamborghini is a good pick if you only want to do rain Gr4 races in something different. That's it.
