My results for the second test season. I dropped a few places for the regional ranking, but I'm still happy with my performance.

Seriously. I absolutely love this game. No paying to win. Just pure skill. I use a pad and get a win once every 10 races which is good enough for me. Love watching the replays too.
Yep, that's also what I loved about GT Sport and now in GT7. The competition is extremely fun and challenging.
Once you're out of the depths of very bad (by this I mean unfair and dirty) drivers, it's really fun. Of course you'll still get the occasional meltdown of someone, but that's unavoidable. Plus it's not as niche as private leagues would be.

For todays Nations Cup at Kyoto, I used the Subaru with a tune I found online.
Had some practice laps before starting in third slot (EU), but not that much. No strategy required due to low amount of laps and both fuel and tire wear set to 1. Plus I hate hard sports tires, so I only went once.

In qualifying, I wasn't able to extract everything out so only managed P11 with a 1:48.6. Could have been a few tenths better here and there...

The race was just about surviving and not making an error on these tires. And it paid out. In the first lap, I gained three places in the first chicane as others crashed and made errors (hence the thumbnail :D )
At the end of the first lap down to P9, and then up to P8 again as another one messed up the aforementioned chicane in lap 2.
In lap 3 the car in front got a 1sec cut penalty in the same chicane again, so up to P7. At the end of lap 5 I gained another two places due to penalties, up to P5.
Stayed there for the end. Gained 6 places without making a single overtake
Gained 285 points. P1 got 342, which I think was the highest points ever given in a lobby I was part of.

In the end, this put me up to 31st in Europe and I believe 1st in Germany overall.
I know a lot of good drivers did not participate in many races in the Nations cup (which you can see from my rank despite having missed more than two races), but still very happy with this result!

Slot 1: Qualified 11th of 12, finished 9th. On the grid walk I noticed everyone running a ton of rake in the car, which I wasn't doing. Still, it was worth 215 points so I was considering just taking the points and calling it a season. For kicks I messed around with the rake, downforce, and camber in Free Practice after my race and found 0.8s of lap time relatively quickly. So I decided to go again...

Slot 2: Started and finished 5th...for 199 points...:banghead: 🤬

The GTWS Nations Cup has ended for me this was an experience I just bought GT Sport and GT7 when it came out I entered the series to test myself and that it did I'm a D/S rated driver but my championship rating somehow stayed S/S when i enter daily races now I seem to be with B and C drivers...cool makes me faster.
Anyway tonight i entered the Nations Cup Race 10pm slot est qualified 3rd driving the WRX tuned of course i finished 2nd I. Stoked....
This brings up a question about Race procedures when slower car make way should they move off the racing line or stay on there line and expect the faster cars to move off the line to pass?

The slower car is usually "forced" to drive on the racing line and the faster cars need to look out where they can overtake in a safe manner.
In reality, if I am the slower car, I try to make some space and let the faster guys through (in multiclass e.g.) as we both are loosing time, if we fight for position.

Congrats to all those finishing up. Missed the final Nations as I'm back at work after sick leave so time to play has vanished but have to say, usually this kind of schedule for Nations and Manu would be way too much but to have the chance at a fresh race every day while I've been off has given me a lot of enjoyment and distraction and it's more appreciated than I expected.

Nations has been a real mix of options and combos as well, we've had everything thrown at us and have worked our way through it and it seems like most people here have had a blast with it as well.

Here's to the next ones and for hopefully a more routine twice a week calendar to give everyone a chance to take part in each race, especially tinkering with tuning for a race like the last one which needs some testing time and practice.

And of course with all of this 'testing' for PD we'd like to see changes on the back of to server stability, lobby and chat options, a consistent 20 cars in a race and anything new feature wise they're looking to add.

There's no "procedure", but its the responsibility of the faster car to make a clean pass. As long as they're driving cleanly, not weaving or blocking, the slower car can take whatever line they like. Unless the slower car is being lapped, which is of course completely different.

Racing for Subaru. Ran 3 slots at Daytona and enjoyed them all. Finished 4th in the first two.

Slot 3 - qualified 4th. Gained a spot on lap 2 then back into 4th the following lap. Stayed there until passing a Mazda on lap 8. Back into 4th on lap 10 after being passed by a VW. The flying VW and long time leading Jag pitted on lap 10 promoting me to 2nd. I was able to cling to the back of the leading Viper, saving fuel all the time, until exiting the bus stop on the final lap and used the extra juice to squeeze into the lead. The Jag who had earlier pitted was gaining on me but not enough, and finished .3 behind. Very exciting finish and incredibly rare victory for me! 158 points. Only entered one other race but thoroughly enjoy the Subaru

Ahhh the often misunderstood "Blue Flag" conditions. I learned on GTS and GT7 that the slower car maintains a SOLID racing line and the faster cars will find a way around you. I personally take corners a little deeper to give the faster cars the cleaner apex.

Now if you move over to other sims (like ACC) people expect you to get the heck out of their way quickly even at the cost of you wrecking just to yield the blue flag to them. Not sure where this came up since I can find this practice in no reference book or race I have ever watched.

Nations was fun last night, big thanks to Mistah_MCA for his subaru tune! it worked a treat.
Race 1 was average, start 5th and finished 6th after picking up a penalty whilst 3rd
Race 2 started 4th and moved upto 1st by lap 3... took home the win, so as you can guess i was finished

Didnt manage to start the season , but i managed some both Manu and Nations... and the results are in...

Haha blue flags. They are a few different rules for this.

Formula 1 - any racers been lapped msit move out of the way and off the racing line to let the lead car through. Or if on a straight they will sometimes stay on the racing line but slow down to allow the car past easily

Le Mans/GT racing - At Le Mans, any cars been lapped are allowed to stay on the racing line and carry on racing. The lead cars have to navigate past these when they can. This where the flashing of headlights comes into play as faster cars will alert the lapped cars a faster and lead car is coming through. (I assume this is the same rule in GT class racing)

When playing GT7 so far I’ve had no issues with racers been lapped. All have pretty much moved of the racing line, and slow down.

My issue I do have is people taking penalties. They stick to racing line and then start to block whilst still in ghost mode. Just causes more issues as the faster car approaching doesn’t know when the car will un ghost. I’d like to see them implemented a penalty lane. Whilst serving a penalty the car has to drive between dedicated white lines, a bit like the pit lane lines. Any car that ignores the penalty zone or cross the white line should get an extra second added to the time.

First time finishing inside the Top 10 in Nation's (or any championship)! Yes, my ranking was largely influenced by the lack of participation, and yes I did finish 134 points behind 7th place, but this'll almost definitely be the highest I ever rank in any standings so I'm very happy.

Rankings for my GT2 EMEA Championships.

Not bad for test seasons where due to the nature of the timings I missed a fair few and was hamstrung by the Gr4 issues. Plus I found my lobbies dirtier than usual so was usually coming back from issues.
Hopefully the next season (proper?) will be more the traditional setup and I can make more races.
Randomising for the next manu will begin!

Yeah, I (think) I was doing GT2 races by the end of te season but with GT3 payouts, though I might be wrong

This is something else that needs to be addressed. Loaner cars should include all tire compounds and be immune to the GT Auto maintenance mini-game (oil changes, chassis softening, etc...).
Tyres I can get behind but we should still have to maintain our cars as that is part of the game.

If you started in GT3 you will be doing GT3 races until the season ends even if all the participants have made it to DR B.

I think tyres should be bought but when you buy tyres for a specific car they should be then unlocked for any future cars. I had two AM V12 Gr3 cars in my garage, 1 loaner and 1 I bought before I signed the contract with AM. I don’t like the fact I had to buy soft tyres twice yet they are exactly the same car and the tyres aren’t interchangeable between the two.

Oil changes and maintenance should be included. I just wish they was an easier way to see information.

We have Test Season 3.

They seem to be experimenting with tire rules/mandatory stops. And a BoP race in Manufacturers. This should be a test for the "fixed" PP system.

Awesome. Looks like these could be some decent races.
