Tried slot 1. Track was dry for qualy and my only lap in clear air was good enough for Q4.

The race started with 9% surface water and an ominous blob on the radar. I decided to start on softs and hope they held out until the rain. By lap 3 I was in the lead, but the rain was moving away from the track.

Lap 6 and my tyres were shot and the radar was clear. Came in for a new set of softs and rejoined DFL. (Warning, a single tyre over the pit line will give you a penalty).

In the end, I was the only idiot to pit and despite having the fastest lap (probably the fastest 4 laps) I finished p9.

I will probably go again later as I have really good pace here and should be a contender with the right strategy.

So a no stop would be hards or do you think mediums would last?

Was it all in daylight? I had a feeling the use of the 24hr layout would mean it finished in the dark.

Mediums is possible. The cars that finished p1 and p2 were on mediums. The rest of the field were on hards.

Softs are pretty bad after 6 laps in the DBR9.

Finished in bright sunshine. Time seems to move relatively slowly.

The weather is random right?
Maybe start on mediums and if it doesn’t rain make it to the end. By the end of the race the mediums should be a bit worn out but on my test race I made it work.

Finished round one with my highest score to date, 284 and had positivity oozing out of my ears, the Lambo was treating me right....then Spa.

First, I LOVE SPA. I've raced 2 hours stints there without misstepping, I've raced in the rain and ENJOYED it, my first top 5 in A+ was at Spa, I got my 15 clean races in a row trophy at Spa...LOVE IT.

I can't take T1 or the last chicane in the Lambo without flipping the car backwards? WTF? What am I doing wrong in the GR3 Lambo? TC doesn't help, ASM doesn't help.... I'm about to have to put Counter Steer Assist on...its insane. I haven't used assists in 5 years and I'm about to need CS assist just to survive a simple 90 degree corner in the dry. Quite frurstrating. Only way I can figure out to go through without spinning the car is to keep the brake on... but that's slow as heck. Losing all kinds of time out of T1 and the final chicane. I can't break a 1:19.xx. I can do that in the Gr4 Lambo, lol.

I swear them transmission cheats in gr4 manufacturers race really bothered me, i have the cars they were driving and no way you got that pp under 630 and had the speed, power, etc to be that fast & hv lap times on 1:25, i managed 4th in my scirocco only bc them fools were flying off road in sand but they top 3 were 7-8 secs ahead or more, that cheat needs to be fixed, like seriously

RAn slot 3 and PD have found a new way to screw up.Qualifying started on a very wet track but by the end was drying out a lot. Final laps were around 10 seconds quicker than the early ones. The pre-race weather said 10% surface water, so I put on mediums and when we get to the grid it’s raining heavily and the water bar is on the border of the second and third sections.

Come on man, this is just junk. As far as I can tell there’s actually no way to know which tyre to start on. If you guess wrong, race over.

What are you doing wrong? I know the answer: you picked Lamborghini as your Manufacturer.

But if the Gr3 Lambo is still a death trap, then the physics change didn't actually help.

I ended up adding a touch of throttle into braking zones to keep the Lambo somewhat stable last test season. Possible that doesn't work anymore.

I've only done one championship race before now. What's the deal with this one? Wets if it's raining, mediums and pray it doesn't rain and no-stop if it's dry?

I'm going Hards no-stop if it's dry myself, don't feel too confident later on with worn Mediums.

Maybe I'm just out of the loop since I've not done many championship races since GT7 launched, but I can't shake the feeling that Softs and Mediums have a hell of a lot less durability now relative to Hards than they did in GTS.

Well crud. Guess that explains why only 4 others in GT1 are in Lambo. There is a weight transfer/COG issue with this car. PD just needs to copy the McLaren suspension geometry/weight characteristics to the Lambo. They failed at whatever they tried to do.

Started on hards and it was wet. Pitted for inters five minutes later. Pitted for softs on lap 5. Ate chunks of time out of the rest of the field. The top 4 no-stopped on wets and I'm pretty sure if I'd started on wets and pitted when I did I would have won. If the people I unlapped myself from noticed how much faster I was and pitted they would have won. If I had any faith the weather would repeat itself I might run again and win myself but I don't and I'm hungry so nah.

They need to let you see the weather radar and the actual water gauge before these races.

This race is moronic. "Surface water 10%". Get into race and it's absolutely pissing it down while I'm on slicks. Does nobody at PD play these races and test and think "hmm, maybe this just... isn't fun?"
Sooo im assuming we Mericans need to use full wets or would intermediates work? I hate races like this, never know what tires to use

I switched to inters because my first lap was twice as long as it should have been, and I could see on the radar the rain was about to stop. Wets should be fine for the first ~5 laps before enough of a dry line appears and you can switch to slicks, assuming the conditions are the same.

If you just picked your manufacturer today, make sure you buy wet tyres for your car before the race.
Don't ask me how I know.

It seems like all the races do dry out. Its just how heavy the rain is and how long it lasts that varies, and there's basically no way of knowing until your sat on the grid.

Thank you, dont knw why they just dont make the race either wet or dry or semi-wet, now i know i will definitely get rammed in my beetle today, alot of gt3 drivers are bad and will wreck you if you are winning & not far ahead , the rain makes it all the worse

I have had me wets for beetl since last couple manufacturers series, so i knew this track would be wet or kinda wet

I have noticed the fastest times of top 10 are all done with no rain & on soft tires, so they picking practice races when weather is clear & no rain on 1st or 2nd lap

Was “10%” Surface water in my race too so started on mediums. Was actually fully wet. Stayed on mediums the whole race (dry after lap 6 or so) but couldn’t make up for my spins on the first lap. The winner started on RS and no stopped it, amazing driving tbh.

More than one person in my qualifying noted they also knew what you know.

The embarrassing thing I have to admit is I DID know I'd need wet tyres, but had just forgotten that cars don't come with them automatically. I somehow had remembered to buy all the slick compounds.
Basically, I was an idiot.

Warmup was only slightly wet track without more rain so I started Qualifying on Softs and got Pole.

Used Mediums for the race. Started also slightly wet and dried completely fast.
Had quite a llonely race on P1.
P2 no stopped on Softs and pushed me at the end of the race on his completely shot tyres.
He was using Controller with all driving aids. Probably the aids counteract the tyre depletion.

My race didn't exactly go to plan. Qualified P6 with a 2:15.748 which I was pleased about, but it all came crashing down less than 40 seconds in.

My mindset on the tyres and not wanting to play Russian Roulette with dying Mediums was clearly not shared by the BMW starting behind me, who did a no-stop on Softs. I've often found it to be pure death whenever the car behind is starting 2 compounds softer. :indiff: Looking at the state of those on lap 12 when checking the replay, just... wow. I was a bit squirrely going into Les Combes on the (presumably cold?) Hards with a slightly damp track, and then received a fatal tap from the BMW through Malmedy as he went past, sending me into the gravel.

I rejoined in P12 but with my tyres now dirty, I had no grip whatsoever through Bruxelles and Rivage and just kept sliding wide, putting me all the way back to P15. Things then got really awkward; the McLaren that started P16 had immediately fallen off the back due to a horrible start... but was rapidly gaining due to starting on Softs. They definitely made rolling race starts better with this new layout, unless you're in P15 or P16. They both start on/turning into La Source respectively.

We kind of ended up in this weird stalemate situation where I can tell he's on a softer compound and try to let him past because I don't want to end up fighting, knowing I won't be able to maintain a gap. I figured I'd just go for an opportunity as his tyres give up (which they did on lap 6 as he opted to pit), but he was extremely hesitant to actually make a move to get past me as well. Really awkward!

Some rage quits and mistakes from others ended up helping me secure P10, but that was not enjoyable. If races at Spa 24H are just going to be a case of running the softest compound into the ground and praying for dear life at the end because the harder compounds are too slow at the beginning and the pit loss is far too long to justify stopping, I can't say I'm looking forward to the next one. Having to fight to survive with tyres like this is not my idea of fun:

Slot 1 and a dry qualy I ended up starting 6th. I went RH for the race to be safe and boy did it feel slow, was getting passed a bunch and under pressure a lot when I'd assumed this would be most peoples strategy, well that was wrong. Finished 8th and knew I could do a lot better.

Came back for slot 2, again dry qualy and race (despite some weather on the radar it seemingly passed by, do love that system) and started 4th. Decided this time to put the hammer down and do RS/RS with a stop but changed my mind about halfway in as I noted few others seemed to be stopping. Ended up just running it out for a no-stop and though I was super slow by the end, had made enough of a gap to comfortably hold that 4th position.

Not much to expand upon in either race as I largely ran alone on track, the different strategy choices contributed to big distances between cars it seems, at least where I was.

I managed to get P1 because I started my last qualifying lap with 1 second left which meant I did my lap on a dry track.

The race started with 10% wet surface and raining. Track started to dry by lap 4. Until then IM tyres were king. Did the whole race on RM but both P1 and P2 pitted to change IM to slicks (I’m guessing softs).

Finished P5. The race was meh. Had no connection issues and this was my first GTWS on ps5.

Qualified on pole and a lot of people doing the same thing -wait towards the end of qualifing to get your flying lap in and track is dry. I raced on wets for the first 7 lap - had a healthy lead but one by one everyone was pitting behind me. Noticed in lap 8 my wets were really starting to wear so headed in for softs. 2nd place overtook me but presumably still on his wets / inters. I gained about 15 seconds on him in one lap on softs and he eventually pitted. Stayed out and finished 30 secs ahead of P2.
