Does anyone else get terrible connection stability in these lobbies? When I first hit the warmup screen I always have 4-5 bars, by the time I get to the race I'm bouncing between 1 and 3 bars, usually on 2. As you can imagine the lag and rubber banding is awful. Never had so much issue in GTS, I have two separate internet connections and get the same behavior on each one.

Getting crashes in Nations Cup lobby when checking assist settings, in which TCS is resetting to 3 - needs to be adjusted on track. Have reported the crashes anyway.

Insanely difficult kart race at Horse Thief Mile tonight, like the Nordschleife of karting in a way wow. Somehow got away with a P8 and 135 points (qualified P9). I took it and ran away 🏃 33 sec of the leader, some know how to drive there properly.

No idea how I kept P8 the last few laps with faster drivers chasing me. Also the chasers got a bit aggressive with the slight punting and got 2-3 sec penalties. If only they were more patient they had me beat (P10 instead?) 😅😅

Anyone got any links for a lap guide or general tips for this race? I was practicing last night and just laughed at myself at the sheer difficulty of these stupid karts and the track. I'm gonna practice more, I got a few hours til my slot, but I'm not looking forward to this.

Quite enjoyed this one and after securing some great finishes in the recent kart daily I was pretty confident heading in.

First attempt I started 6th and finished 6th, though was up to 4th at one point, the run was full of silly mistakes and I knew I had more in me after getting used to the rhythm needed for each corner.

Second attempt didn't go so well and from a 9th place start I was shunted off early and never recovered, my pace or my temper.

Cue an hour or so break and a jack daniels.

Returned more relaxed and ready to go, scored a 2nd place start and immediately the polesitter jumped the lights and I was through into first. Avoided all the drama which is significant here as people can barely control these things in a straight line. A german was the only one keeping up and he managed to barge his way past me around one of the hairpins while I picked up a 2 second penalty for what seemed like a nudge to me but you win some you lose some of these.

From there he had a good 3 and a half second lead, and I was about 10 seconds in front of 3rd, and that at least for us was how it finished. Lots of cursing and dirty driver talk in the post race chat, glad I missed out on all that fun

Time for a full kart DLC and the return of Kart Space IMO

Nice. How did you find the pace for this track? I had okay pace and consistency at Kyoto Miyabi kart race daily race a, even won one race there, but here I was in big trouble. G29 player myself, I had to increase controller sensitivity from 0 to 2, from my Miyabi settings, to get the kart to turn in.

I will say that it was my first time since GT6 to try out such a tough track with a kart, Lago Maggiore Centre or Kyoto Miyabi in GTS/GT7 perhaps not the "true" kart race tracks, in terms of difficulty.

Slot 1: Qualified 10th then drove like an idiot and finished 14th of 17.

Slot 2: "Unexpected error"

Slot 3: Qualified on pole by putting in a monster lap at the last possible opportunity, elevating myself from 4th...of 8 total competitors...
I didn't even get to lead into T1 before the 2nd place qualifier took the lead and slowly pulled away to win. I finished P2 for 239 points.

Kyoto only had the one braking zone though it wasn't too different to each turn here. I didn't have to adjust anything on the wheel but watching the top times I noticed that while it was tempting to get on the throttle right at the apex, they were turning in another touch before doing so, giving them a much better run off the turn, since they're not 'perfect' hairpins.

It was similar on turn in, braking and letting it drift for a tick before turning in gave a better angle.

(Terrible at explaining things sorry it's all feel for me)

Ok. Yeah I noticed it was like that tbf, maybe should have done it even a bit more. 🤔

Just ran slot 1 in Asia at Tokyo. Plugging some inters on the Jag it seemed to handle ok. Somehow found a rhythm and first lap dropped myself into p3 on the grid. Big gaps between all the spots. Race starts and the Ford GT behind me launches past into turn 1 and is very sketchy. I just take it easy and watch them bounce into the wall in the chicane and so motor on.

The lead 2 have some problems and I end up with the lead and stretch it to almost 2 seconds. But the rain increases and I have a little trouble with the final corner and so the 2 Porsches behind finally start gaining. I get passed but am shadowing patiently waiting for the long straight when the rain suddenly increases dramatically exiting the quick chicane and I clip the wall. 1.5 seconds penalty and trouble.

Next time down the straight I catch a puddle and do some 360s until I bounce off the wall twice and carry on. I manage to get the rhythm back and get back to p4 as another driver finds the same puddle and that's where I finish. My lobby was good clean racing but heard some sketchy stuff going on in others. Was a good race and good way to bow out of Manufacturer series. Pretty stressful and the fast time passage makes the changes in rain very sudden and dramatic. Be ready.

Good luck and clean driving

Anyone ducking in for wets or just inters all the way and watch out for puddles?

Did you run RH in Qualy?

I just ran inters the whole time. There was never enough of a drying line to run RH in the race. A bunch of people in the back ducked in for full wets. I found outside of the 1 sudden dramatic change in rain and finding the puddle by being on my line instead of the game racing line the only times full wets were needed. Just tried to be very smooth and gentle keeping a flowing line with no dramatic steering or throttle changes.

Cheers. don't know if there'll be differences in each session but I'll go with the same gameplan at least.

2nd slot at Tokyo. Failed to set a qualy lap. Tried to get 1 flyer on RH but it was too wet by halfway through. Jumped back into the pits for inters and then back out again for 2 flying laps. Word of warning, the penalty zone is in a spot that ruins 2 consecutive flying laps. Tapped a wall on my first which cost me a chunk of time on my second as well. Didn’t really matter as I hit the wall again on my second flyer. Started DFL.

First lap was looking promising. I put on full wets and figured I’d sit at the back and pick off the mistakes as it got wetter. Unfortunately as I can into the fast left hander after the esses, the car in front hit the wall and bounced across in front of me. I clipped his rear and spun into the wall. 6 second penalty and facing the wrong way in a section too narrow to turn around. By the time I got going again I was 23 seconds adrift of second last.

The rest of the race was a boring parade at the back. Just a dissatisfying combo as my race was utterly ruined by someone else’s mistake.

Got a good result in my first race tonight hahaha. Started in 4th and just save fuel and tyres for the majority of the race. Overtook the GTR ahead of me with fuel advantage. Finished in 3rd at the end.

The weather was quite rainy in this race compared to the previous slots I saw so don’t compare your lap times with others in different lobbies, focus on yours, save the tyres, and the race will go to your way.

And btw the Peugeot VGT is really fast… like a rocket at the straights lol

Into the Manufacturers tonight and not being the biggest fan of Tokyo Expressway from Sport I wasn't expecting much but I have to say, if these test series are a sign of the variety and experiences we're going to get when the official championships start, I'm very excited about it.

It makes the world of difference seeing a grey Tokyo descend into darkness under the rain as the lights and illuminations come on and the whole place takes on a different vibe and challenge. PD have nailed this part of the game and just visually it was a treat, never mind the rain driving is miles better and more enjoyable but still dangerous if you're not careful. I also realise it's not working right for everyone but I've had very few connection issues lately either for myself or the lobby generally, all cars have been making it through Qualy and to the Grid.

I did mess up that part though, even though I knew, I knew! I was doing it I had to be cocky and try a RH for the first fast lap and it did not work Shock so I put in a terrible time, 17th, pitted for inters and prayed I'd make it back around to start a fresh lap, I did not.

So 17th it was but I raced very well here, only a couple of barrier collision penalties, one stupid crossing the pitlane lines penalty and a back and forth with a frenchman who eventually span out slowed me down. Dodging the spinners, guys on wrong tires and penalty servers I managed to bring it home in 4th and if you had asked me even before Quaiy if I'd take that, I'd have snapped your hand off so happy days here and enjoy the racing everyone! It's the best it's ever been IMO.

Really enjoyed that race!
Quali I tried RH but track was too wet by the time I crossed the line so switched to inters.
Q in P6.
Race was crazy at the start. One or two cars were rapid on the straight so lost out to one and then the car the same as me seemed to rapid too. Made a small mistake and hit the barrier so got a penalty, and then lap 2 a car ahead lost control and was slow but cut infront of me so got a collision penalty and then trying to catch up I spun. Decided on at the end of lap 2 to pit for fuel and get some clear track so I can just pump in decent lap times and jump them in the pits. A few cars pits mid race and a few more lap 9 for fuel and wets. Lap 12 I was up to P8 and fighting with 4 cars. Few cars started to get dirty on that last lap and the hairpin was crazy. One went too deep, and two ran out fuel. Overall I went down to P20 and worked back up P6 so I’m happy with that race. Im not sure if fuel saving is the quickest way?

I think it's pretty bad that I have to spend 28,000 CR on IM tires for this one. Will I still have them if I purchase the same Gr. 3 car (Jag) or will I have to buy them for that car as well?

Anyway, looking forward to Tokyo in the rain. I've done well here on GTS in both dailies and FIA races. It will be only my 2nd race in either series in this season 2. Hoping for no disconnects and one and done in slot 1. Famous last words.

Are you seriously concerned about 28,000 credits?

You have to buy them for every individual car you buy.

The thing is, you could buy a duplicate of your current manufacturer series car and not lose the tires. But yeah, 28000 cr is no issue. You get more than 28 000 cr by doing a 4-4,5 min rally at sardegna windmills.

Not sure why you think I'm 'concerned' about 28,000 CR. Just asking a question about a new aspect of the game. Good luck to those yet to race in Manufacturers.

After some days off online racing (did the 8 1-hour races instead), I tried the manufacturer's race twice today.
I didn't watch anyone else racing, but my races were both constant light-rain, so intermediate throughout.
Except for the first quali lap, which was possible with dry tires.

On my first run, I messed up the first quali lap as I touched the barrier and got a 1.5 sec penalty... Started P17 I believe.
Then I got spun around as the car behind was too stupid to use the brakes in lap 1. Was able to catch up to the field and profited from some other binning it, so I actually ended up in P9.

Next race was way better.
In quali, I got a lap in with the dry tires which helped me qualifying in P9.
In the race, I was behind a McLaren, and I bump drafted him on the straight while saving fuel, and together we gained some places from other peoples mistakes.
Actually ended up in P3 for 281 points, very happy with that!
