Borrowing setups is also a part of real-life motorsports. Drivers copy teammates' setups all the time, and every time a team revisits a track, they use a previous setup as a baseline, so if a driver is new to a team they'll effectively be borrowing someone else's setup as well. In real life, teams have even less time to practice for a race, so they're not going to all go to each track with the car set to "stock" values (if those are even a thing IRL) and start from scratch every race. I can guarantee you no driver or team ever feels "dirty" copying setups.I don't have the time either. But I'd rather slowly see what's best for me than shortcut by copying someone else's hard work. The game tells you what it all does so it's a case of learning over time what works best for you, the car and the track.
I would agree that the races should be a test of driving skill. However setups are a thing in racing and should be part of that. I just don't like the fact that copying someone else gets you results over putting in some work.
I definitely don't understand how it's cheating anyway when we all have access to the exact same resources. If someone posts a tune online that anyone can copy, no one has an advantage or disadvantage.
