Are there hidden assists in GT6?

Is having Force Feedback on a wheel turned down, and / or using increased steering sensitivity hidden assists that cannot be filtered online?

How would turning down force feedback help (as in assist)? If anything, it helps to turn it up.

But to answer your question, no.

Would less resistance in the wheel not make tight corners / chicanes easier? Would it not also make fast straights easier if bumps didn't jerk the drivers hands around? If steering sensitivity doesn't make it easier, why do people increase it?

You realize that when you are reducing FFB, you're reducing the amount of steering feel, right? Reducing the sensitivity reduces detail in the FFB.

A wheel without FFB puts you at a serious disadvantage. You don't feel the ground, air coming off of other cars, etc. Ffb to 10, sensitively to 7 @ 670 degree lock.

If yij can't turn the wheel fast enough or it needs to have less resistance, unless you habe some sort of disability regarding muscle tissues/coordination...you need to get out of the game chair and eat a little meat, dude.

Having everything cranked up, makes you feel what is going on. Turning it down, is only going to out you at a disadvantage. Steering wheels don't quite magnetize in place at high speeds, either...

Would power steering assist and three different levels of player ability be able to be selected, if it were an aid that dropped time? All that stuff dumbs the game down and slows you.

I use a 450 degree lock setting, which is an option on the g27. But, 670 feels very good as well. 670 is awesome for road cars with little to no downforce on tap. Quicker cars in the game with higher downforce levels, I prefer 450, as you can make quicker transition, which are require at higher speeds. Knocking the lock degree values down to some extent can shave seconds off of laps. Some people don't catch themselves turning to full lock, though and end up cooking front tires. Just something to be mindful of. Anyone who has a g27 needs to check out the how to on changing lock settings. The 450/670 lock settings really make the g27 and transform it into a much better wheel. It's a mere matter of holding three buttons down at the same time and it is not permanent. Every time you shut the wheel off or exit a game, it resets to 900 by itself.

Just to add to what @332i said, it's about being smooth. You need to feel what's going on or else you'll be moving the wheel all over the place (trying to correct) and possibly transferring too much weight while doing so. While holding a wheel, you need the resistance or else you'll be fighting your own muscles - stiffening your own arms to keep straight rather than letting the wheel stiffen up.

Just unplug the power cord to your wheel and try driving it with no motor. It is terrible. You will quickly plug the power back up.

The steering sensitivity only works for DS3s. I've tested this on my T500RS, it doesn't work like that.

The steering ratio can also be adjusted on a T500RS.

No. There's no ratio option in-game but the G27 has the ability to be set in different lock settings itself.

Edit: I realize this is not the same thing but when you set it in a less than 900° mode it does adjust the ratio accordingly.

F1 2012 and F1 2013 are examples of games where you benefit from a lower force feedback setting (not turning it off completely however). Having FFB higher is usually better, but it's not always the case.

You can adjust lock on the t500 on the wheel itself. They just don't get the 450 and 670 degree locks. They have 270, 360, 540, 900, 1080. We have a little better "in between" settings with the 450 and 670 (I have a g27 as well). Although, a 550 or 525 would be nice in some cases. We have 240, 450, 670, and 900. They have to punch it in with buttons just like us.
