I once wrote tenth-rate, self-loathing "poetry" about getting speeding tickets and wore Chuck Taylor All-Stars, but not at the same time.

I find it more than a bit strange that some people are forming an opinion on a genre that was at its height before they were out of kindergarten.

Scenester, emo, whatever... the average music elitist (howdy Pitchfork) is just as annoying. Nearly all genres produce some catchy music, too. Hell... maybe emos play into the stereotype these days because it's what they want you to think. Conspiracy!

I have cut myself a lot before though, just not on the wrist. Not because of depression, or angst, just too much rage and nowhere to put it. I also have done it just for the feeling a few times. I stopped because the source of anger has died down a bit, and i want the scars on my thigh to go away.

I guess you could say that I used to be. I have a horrible anxiety issue, which used to make me extremely depressed most of the time. I used to cut, but I managed to drop that after thearapy and stuff. As recently as May I was writing poems that I guess you'd call self-loathing, but they were entirely driven by frustration with a certain relationship I had and still have with someone. Anyway, now I really realize that it's good to be happy. I rarely get lonely anymore though I do prefer to be alone. I am usually mellow, yet content now. It is very good to be happy, and even better to be cool.

My school is a clean school, but the occasional emo always gives us a bad image.

Who? Assnyne? If So, we actually only used a single mic to record most of those tracks, and I did most of the editing afterwards to try and even out the drum to everything else ratio, but yeah it still sucks (recording-wise).
