There are usually too many cheats online. With the absence of patches to make up for cheating, online play is not something I'm looking forward to.

If the collision-physics of GT4 are like GT3, any GT on-line race will need very disciplined racers, or an arbitrary.

And this guy (the arbitrary) will have a lot of work.

There's almost no track where you're not faster if you use the walls.

Sure I'll play online. I've got this network adapter sitting around doing nothing, anyways.

Sure, maybe public server players will cause trouble, but we can still hold regular GTP matches, where we'll know no one will cause trouble.

Play Online will make the longevity of GT4 even better and a more fulfilling exprience to play against all the members of GTP and the rest of the world, hopefully!

It has potential, and I know PD will deliver... :D

i just dont want to play online, i'd rather have them working on the game itself rather than waste time making it online....online gaming is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo overated:rolleyes:

Online gaming isn't overrated aslong as you know what your doing & your got the decent hardware & games to back it up with.

Dunno whether I'll bother with GT4 online I'd have to buy both the Network Adapter & a new ADSL modem if I wanted to play :( doubt it'd go straight into my hub.

GT, why is online gaming overrated, I think thats the best part of most games I get, theres no better game feeling than outwitting another guy in competition be it a FPS shooter or racing game.

my ps2 goes straight into my hub and it works perfectly. so i dont think setting it up will be a problem for anyone just as long as they have a broadband conection to begin with.
but ya, im gonna play online. you dont neccesarily have to play with strangers who cheat. you can play with your friends. ive always to have an ilink party, just so i could play my friends, but since it never happened cuz it would be too difficult, this is the next best thing. But ya, cheaters ruined SOCOM pretty hardcore. i wish sony would have never authorized those gameshark products.

Probably not, mainly because I have a feeling that it will be full of Jackasses.

Although it would be nice to race one on one with some of the members here.

the only game ive really played online so far are socom, and automodellista. i havnt touched AM for a loong while, but when i was playing it, there werent any gameshark people. how is it for the other online games? you guys play any of them?

How was Automodelista online?
The Pal version that I have doesn't have online play, but I heard that most people just rode the walls to win.

Online was so so. since the game itself wasnt that great to begin with, online couldnt be that great. as for wall bouncing, yes, alot of people did it sooo much. it dominated for many of the courses that had walls to bounce off of. i stayed on the mountain courses tho, and thats only 2 courses. 1 of them allowed wall bouncing, and the other didnt. not too many people online tho, so not too many people to race.

I'm looking forward to online play. I hope that the GT4 AI will be much improved over GT3, but if not, what better AI than actual human beings? I hope cheaters don't ruin it, but PD will probably institute some sort of anti-cheating program like EA did with Madden '04. At any rate, common sense would dictate that everybody withold judgement of online play until they have tried it.

I'm not sure on the online racing. I have a LAN in the house, but nowhere near the PS2. If they came out with a wireless network adapter for the PS2, I would deffo buy it though, and then you'd see me online racing. :)

I'm sure it will. I read about this "Black Flag" penalty system. It slows your car down to 50 MPH for a few seconds when you commit an offense. This might be in the regular game play as well. Still no official word yet on how it's going to work.
