To be honest PD has done quite well with the cars. People complain about all the Skylines. Even in the premium department, but they have one Skyline from R32, R33 and R34, and the GTR, people complain. But look at other manufacturers. Premium Dodge, Viper GTS and SRT-10, one from each main Viper generation. Chevy Corvette, one C1 (the Art Morrison is a C1 if I'm correct), C3, C5, and C6. You see what I mean. So in my opinion they've done well. Then there's the old Volkswagens and things. They're just in there for fun, doing silly things that we all can't deny that we've done in previous GT's, get bored and have a demolition derby, or crash out of randomness or go into 2P and smash a Formula 1 into a Fiat 500. Now we have premium ones to do that with. That's the point of these in my opinion, FUN, NOT SPEED. However, this is just my opininon, for reading all of that.

And that's just another opinion we don't share, a high-performance version of a station wagon or estate (or even the regular version) is just so much cooler to me since it isn't the obvious choice.
Fully tuned the RS6 even becomes a hyper-estate, the ultimate Q-car or 'sleeper', the fact it's the estate version only adds to the understated looks and classy appeal.

I can understand that in reality, especially where the extra space is useful in reality. But not in a game that has a very restrictive complement of premium cars. Once again I'll say if they had a Premium RS4 or the saloon RS6 in the game AND the Avant I'd be happy with the Avant to test and fart about in to try.

Also I like my cars to look good ;) IMO Estates do not. I'm the same with bikes, I love fully faired sportsbikes and would never sit astride a naked bike. Yes it's an opinion and no doubt we disagree there too! I'll state that neither of us are wrong (apart from PD not having enough premium cars!) ;)

That's all well and good if you want the "fun" of driving the really slow stuff. But it's not a black and white thing...it's not just that people want MEGA fast cars instead of the slow stuff. There's a huge grey area in between.

PD should have added "fun" stuff AFTER they had a good spread of cars as premiums. The spread is NOT good.

It's all about the issue of time and resources. PD had limited amounts of each, which makes it irritating when they did the "fun" cars at the expense of motoring historically important cars.

I think the problem is that there aren't enough Premium cars of each category, except SuperGT and Nascar ones. However in those cases they should have really made them as racing modifications of existing models (although I understand they're so radically different that they aren't really the same cars anymore. But in GT2 one could race modify the Ford Taurus - if I'm not wrong - to NASCAR specs). I also agree with CarBastard in that they should have followed the following "algorithm":

CarBastard
What about following the following model for including cars:
-Car X
*Prototype.
Generation #X:
*Base model.
*Highest trim/performance stock model.
*Odd or remarkable factory model (Say, a limited, and noticeably limited, edition or concept car)

In addition to this, in my opinion they should have included at least 8-16 cars from the same categories (enough to fill up a grid with competing models).

to little to choice from en to outdated

Fate is... Kaz is always japanese biased.. Always has and always will... Kinda suprised theres no supra-RZ interior or bugatti interior... I was expecting gt5 to feature a LOT more exotics in the game but hey... Im not complaining with the ones we have now... I mean, if sony didnt force PD to sell gt5 for the christmas holiday, kaz would have been working on gt5 for another 2 years so, Just my 2 cents...
Cheers !

NO. :yuck:

PD has no taste at all... :grumpy:

Oh c'mon it has atleast some taste, the old LM cars(besides GT40), Ferrari premiums including the F40, lamborghini's, not too mention the Citroen GT concept. Not too mention the JGTC, the shelby cobra, AM DB9, NSX, GT-R '07, Ford GT, some classic muscles, including the Challenger, and camaro. For premiums it has more than Shift 2, its just that other games have decided to go with different cars(hyper cars), wereas PD try to balance it, and try to het historical cars in.

I just wish, that PD couod have invested more money into it, and hire more staff.

Every car should be premium in GT6. Problem solved. :D

I think they should add the old Midget, Auto Union, at least for GT6. And don't forget the FPV's.

Exactly my thoughts. Racing modifications were a huge part of GT1 and GT2 because they helped cover the gap of "Uh...boring car" and "OMFG BECAUSE RACECAR!!!".

Take for example the Peugeot 405.

It's a bland, lame, ugly and above all, french, piece of commuter-car crap. You'd have to own one or be really odd to desire driving it in a game where you can drive full-bore thoroughbred machines. But hey, to each their own. So, PD included this:

Peugeot_406_13_g.jpg

But if you're like me, and the apparent majority of people, you don't want a common and beige boring car. You want thrills, you want to do something you can't do on real life. So PD included this:

btcc406.gif

And they were not two separate cars. Interestingly enough, the one in the second picture (A fire breathing, slick-tyre wearing, BTCC running full on racing machine) is made when the one in the first picture (A bland and slow piece of FWD crap) is taken to GT auto. They look as they're basically the same 3D model if you don't take in account the paintjob and the exterior modifications on the racing car. Of course, the interior would've to be modelled again for the racing car. But you see, this is a way of shooting down two birds in 1.5 shots and leaving everyone happy. Like crap-boxes? Alright, drive one. Like fast cars? RM the crap boxes. Problem solved.

Also, if PD included enough cars of one category it'd be the end of the era of an uber-fast and out of place car in the grids, and of the vintage Vettes in the Supercar Festival. That's what they should do to provide an amazing game experience, develop their car list together with their events list.

I am satisfied with it. 200 cars is more then enough. If they just had the premium cars and did not include the standards then I would be fine with that also. I think it is the 800 or so standard cars that make the number of premiums seem low.

I would be happy too with that quantity if they had chosen more european beautiful cars and they had had better taste: the countach; Zonda tricolore, Roadster, Cinque (be aware that with less work you can make 3 "different" fantastic cars), not waste the time in 3 cars such as the 370z chassis [nissans and amuse {two are enough}], S2000 [honda & amuse], Crz (Honda & Spoon],Skyline [Nissans, Infinity, High End Performance, Blitz!], Nsx (Honda and Acura), GTRs... It is endless.

I am talking about cars such as the Mazda Autozam, Rx(*), eunos...; Skylines, Silvia, March...; Daihatsus; Hondas Integra, Civic...; Toyota Prius, ..., Suzuki Capuccino, Cervo... to mention a few.

All that instead of more actual and classic beautiful cars. Not to mention the lack of Porsche.

I totally aggree with you. Kaz and his crew must stop to troll us with such cars. They totally waste time with modelling this cars! Yes, I know, this post gets raped now by 10 guys who say "I like everyday cars!", but the majority of people who play this game would definitly prefer a premium RUF, premium group C cars or cars from awesome racing series like FIA GT.

And yes, when GT6 is announced and its car list is released, I won`t buy it when the premium car list is full of soccer mom vehicles or trucks.

Edit: Im not saying "Oh stop modelling such cars and only add Ferraris etc".

Imo its only about driving. Take a stock Prius to the Ring and then do the same with a stock 512BBi or F40 in this game. Or a Yellow Bird.
I think almost everyone here aggrees with me, that a premium 190E Evo II (+ RM) would be epic. Such cars should be in this game! Or maybe more RM`s. No Kübelwagen, no Schwimmwagen, but please, just give us a RM for a 430/458/C63/etc... This game has alot of Ferraris, but not a single modern Ferrari race car (the F1 cars don`t count because PD trolled us with them). Eventhough the 430 challenge is 4-5 years old?

Sort of.

It's not horrible, but it could be better, ie: Lamborghini Countach, Jaguar XJF (or whatever it is), Jaguar XJ220, Lancia Delta rally car, etc.

Hopefully we get updates that turn standards into premiums, or at least premium DLC. As long as I have my preium Ferrari's, I'm happy.

Edit: Don't understand why everyone hates the Kubelwagon, etc. Sure, they're slow, but that doesn't mean they should be disgraced. Should I rant on why Lamboghini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Alfa Romeo suck and should be premiums?

If you're limiting the premium car list to roughly 200, at least make them 200 different cars. For example: all of the Toyota NASCAR, Ford NASCAR, and Chevrolet NASCAR are the exact same car save for livery. Same goes for all of the JGTC/Super GT, Citroen GT, and Suzuki Swift.

But then you realize they have a standard Ford GT, Ford GT LM Test Car, Amemiya Asparadrink RX-7, Honda S2000's, Mazda Miatas, Skylines, and normal RX-7's, all of which would use the exact same vehicle modeling as premium.

Then consider the duplicate models that standard cars share. My point is they really screwed us on both standard (which there should be a lot less of), and premium. Wouldn't it have used up less disk space to share the same premium model with a few of the standards than make entirely different standard models?

And considering when all is said and done, the premiums typically aren't really that good. Yes, I'll admit the exteriors on a few of them are indistinguishable from real life, but the interiors really are quite bad on most. Even some of the premium exteriors are bad... has anyone looked at the Blitz ER34 Skyline with scrutiny? Some of the vinyls on that thing are laughable.

Pleased? Yes. A lot of my favorites are Premiums.

Completely Satisfied? No. Still think the Bugatti Veyron and even the Formula Gran Turismo should be Premium along with others.

It looks like in the end, excluding slight variations or duplicates, speaking of premium content GT5 really ended up having "170+ cars, 20+ tracks" , as rumored since year 2008 (if we remove tracks added at the last moment* which are clearly GT4 HD conversions - they do look that bad at times - even that track number still makes sense).

* Cote D'Azur, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Laguna Seca, Autumn Ring and La Sarthe 2005 (but this one doesn't count as a completely new track).

they should've added some older german cars as premium....
IMO they should've just had 400-500 premiums and not have any standard...it's harder to appreciate them and GT5 as a whole compared to an encyclopedia when almost 4/5 cars are GT4 quality.

One of more thing that actually bothers me more...only 16 cars can be RM'd...seriously...that's a joke considering there's 1031 cars and 200+ premiums.

I personally don't like the whole standard/premium format. I think I should be able to paint and change wheels on any car I choose. I mainly use cars I can actually afford. I really don't have that much interest in super cars and exotics.

Anyway I can understand a couple of prototypes here and there but the GTR black mask is a joke. Same thing with the Citroen GT concept which is basically the same of a "normal" Citroen GT. And I wonder how they could let the Koenigsegg CCX out of the game, such a famous car. And what about RM models? 17 cars on "200" premiums..

What winds me up is the fact that the audi r8 is premium so therfore the r8 lms should ahve been made premium as it shares common body panels and would be quicker to model that a whole new premium, its the same with all the ford lm spec cars they should all be premium.

Definetly not happy with the premium selection. What happened to some great cars from GT5: Prologue like the Tuning cars? Then there is a Prius, but not the iconic Supra? Not a single Porsche/Ruf also. Suzuki Swift and some Kei cars, seriously?

Most of the cars a quite good, but it doesnt represent a nice variety of cars and is certainly not a good mix. Some iconic cars arent Premium, but some really useless peaces are.

Other games have a more equal mix of nice cars, even with less with 200 cars!

Yeah! The R8 LMS should be the RM model of a premium R8 and the white Ford LM is basically the same of the Black spec II but the white one is standard, this-mean-L-A-Z-I-N-E-S-S by PD.

those cars i like the most and they are standard so im not happy :

toyota Supra RZ

viper team orica

corvette C5-R

viper GTS-R concept

NSX castrol

Tuareg ain't nothing compared to this beauty from the North.
