Do you use the GTP tag infront of your name

I have my GTP tag, but recently I stop using it because I will wait for PRIVATE rooms to kick in, and when I am more competitive.

No I am not, I registered online before I got onto GTP, and then read about the GTP_ tag. I did not want to start my game over from scratch so I am using eg6_axle. I just raced against gtp_kartracer though. Good race I must say

Unlike PC games, the one PSN account I used for gaming is an account that applies to all my games. I simply will not and cannot create a new account for every single game I own and for every forum I visited just so I can participate in each forums "tag only" events; otherwise I will have to have many many different PSN accounts.

I have a few accounts. One is for Gran Turismo only. As long as youv'e got an external memory devise, you can copy multiple times onto different accounts. What needs to be stopped is these muppets that can download game save files without having to complete the game.

I did recently create an account with the "GTP_" tag. I never use it, because I never play the game. I did play CoD4 with this new name, a little bit. I thought I'd be awesome, starting all over, but I still sucked.

I recently received a PM about this "qualify" I must enter, so I can submit my time to Sphinx. That, will be the first time I use the tag on a Gran Turismo game!

No here!

Don't find the need to :) I don't want to be known as a clean racer for the tag I carry, I will race it out cleanly and whether you remember me or not does not bother me :D

well I just started using it since downloadable version can be used by other users on the PS3

Whenever i see a GTP tag i even drive more carefully to make sure i wont make contact with him.
Your racing behaviour should be the same wether or not you encounter a GTP driver. No need to drive less careful when they're not around. ;)

Is the GTP_ tag like the opposite of a yellow Star of David?
Please explain to me how a way of letting know that you somehow belong together (like a football shirt, or a livestrong bracelet, or team colors, etc. etc.) relates in any way to a sign that was used to involuntarily tag an ethnic group for extermination by an oppressing regime in the period 1933-1945, because frankly, I fail to see any relation between the two at all and I am really curious to how you could. 👎

there's been reports that using the tag can get you punted more.
Even more?!? Impossible! :sly:

Why? I certainly don't care about it the day we get private rooms or another way to restrict who you're racing with. I would find it pretty handy if my save would get corrupted or lost. Backups are always too late you know. ;) :p

EDIT: forgot to reply due to all the quoting. :p

I have no tag since I haven't needed one (yet). I might get one in the future if there will be GTP events.

TAG is a statement - 'I drive clean' If I see a tag behind me I know I won't get punted (at least not intentionally) If I see one in front I know he won't slam the door on me half way through an overtake (again - at least not intentionally)

If I see a full grid of tags I know I'm in for an awesome race.

Hopefully non-tagged, clean drivers will start to get this picture too.

I like it cause I'm representing the forum I use, not to mention representing the most Elite driving force online.

word! :) couldnt have summed it up better 👍

no for me, i still quit events sometimes (when pisst right off) and wouldn't want my behaviour to tarnish your good name. ;)

Did do, but found myself being too much of a target, almost like getting a kill, 'I took out a GTP'er today', so for the interim I've dropped it for casual online racing. As soon as the private rooms starts I'll start using it again.

And why should that be stopped? I don't have the time anymore to complete the full game, so I just got a game save after about I beat about 60% of the Prologue events, merely so I could finally enjoy all the cars.

The problem is not people like yourself, with a legitimate reason to download a gamesave. The problem is it gives idiots who have no business being in the pro events the opportunity to be in the pro events.

While the single player events may not be the best test of ones abilities they would serve as a BS-filter nonetheless and limit the trully talentless to the beginners events where they belong.

Downloading save games is not the problem. The real problem is we don't have a way to control who we race against (e.g. private rooms , leagues, whatever PD can come up with) online. Getting rid of downloadable save games will not get rid of a-holes online. I personally don't give a hoot if noobs or punters race online in Expert events, just as long as I don't have to race them. ;)

+1 👍

Hopefully you should not only be able to race the same, but even closer than you normally do - door to door, wheel to wheel, nose to tail, and be able to trust those people that you're racing with to allow you to do that. For me, that's why I signed up for the GTP tag. Bring on private rooms :)

I have a GTP account that I was using last when i actually played the game online. Im not going to play online anymore until we get private rooms, but that is another story.

When we get private rooms I am in doubt if i will use my GTP tag, or just my regular PSN ID.

The things is when GT 5 is going to support trophy's they will be locked to your PSN account so if you race with a GTP account those trophy's you gain will not add up with trophy's you have on your normal PSN account.

Just wanted to state what I ment with driving more carefully when I see GTP tags, like others stated its nice to know you wont get punted off, I allways drive clean as possible, tag or not, but its nice to see a GTP tag in your mirror so you don't have to make a weird move to prevent him from bumping you in the back when you try to brake for your corner.

Also I really dont think im a good driver cause I got a tag, just want to show everyone im trying to race and i wont punt you off the track! (and ofcourse support the community)

Also you dont have to start over with 0 cars, you can copy the savegame.

Is it easy to change your tag?

It takes about 5 minutes. You make a new user on your playstation, go to sign in on the playstation network and make a new psn account with the GTP_ infront of your name. Once done, copy your savegame from your old playstation account to the new one, and your set to go!

Well Said 👍

I use it always now cause it puts the GTP tag on the boards and represents GTP online.

I think everyone putting in an effort on GT5P should be proud of being able to have the GTP_Tag and to show that they are part of an elite group of racers.
