I'd say that the imperfections (not the model itself, little spots of dust etc.) will say that it is indeed real and not Memorex !..

Nice find AO !... And damn good craftmanship !..

Looks pretty real to me. The images are obviously professionally taken, but overall I think the gorgeous little figure is hand machined.

I think it would take almost as much time and effort to photoshop something like that than it would be to machine it (well, maybe not quite as much)... but I'm convinced it's real... very cool

Its real, and certainly impressive - but they've been making these out of wood and selling them in 'artist supplies' stores for years!

This one looks way better and way more complicated than the wooden ones.

Fantastic find, all the little joints, etc are so amazing, and they look like they stand about 15-20" tall too, which is pretty cool

This guy has got the skills to pay the bills. Wish I could make things like that.

Could someone upload one of the pictures? I'm getting an error message on each of the pictures. It's probably my school's firewall.

Proof you don't need a special degree to make impressive money, and I'm not talking about being an artist. Machinists make a killing...

Good to see a creative mind at work. I'd love to sit next to him and watch him work.

My god, that man has skills. I'd love to try and make that for my culminating project in tech class, but I don't think I'd be skilled enough.

WOW!

At first I thought this was just a static model, but to see that it can move in it's joints and everything makes it 1000x better! Looking at the way it's balancing on one foot, is it conceivable that this thing is proportioned to the human body and evenly weighted/balanced etc.? That's how it can balance?

Very fine craftsmanship indeed. Even all the fingers move!

Wonder how much it weighs...

Yeah, that's what I was wondering, too. Is the thing perfectly balanced?

That's is so damn cool. It might become the foundation for which android technology is built. Hahahaha. Actually, I don't think they'd use something as inefficient as the human body for specific tasks.

I think all the paint pansies need to redefine "fine art". What do you call those things, anyway? A doll? Well it's just about perfect. His machines aren't computerized, either, so it really took some skill to machine those pieces so small. My dad's a machinist, and I think that sort of work is pretty cool.

Omnis
Hahahaha. Actually, I don't think they'd use something as inefficient as the human body for specific tasks.

That's why I wonder about all of those Honda ASTHMO robots or whatever they are. I just want to grab a buddy and kneel down behind one of those things and *push* there goes three million bucks like an overturned roach.

I saw the title and though oh great another thread about someone's BS they call "Art" but I was pleasantly surprised. That's a nice model! I could see that being a concept model for Ai (old movie). 👍
