Personally, I say the less I have to tinker with files the better because I've already had things go wrong from altering something in a .ini file or whatnot. I currently have a brand-new T300RS wheels that's basically non-functional on the PC and I suspect it was due to some file that was tinkered with (wheel works fine on the PS3). I'm going to attempt re-installing Windows and starting over from scratch tonight, and I plan to not alter any kind of files unless absolutely necessary (this is presuming the reload fixes the wheel issue). That's the one huge downfall of PC gaming, it's fine until something goes wrong, and it seems like things go wrong a LOT more than on the console, and unless you're a computer wiz it can be very difficult/frustrating getting things working again.
