And that is a good thing. It learns to drive clean laps.

The 67 Lotus on Spa, can't get enough of it.

It reminds me of GP legends :)
You know I haven't driven that car in forever, thanks for the idea. :cheers: Its gonna be a good day. :gtpflag:

The little things are now becoming bigger things... I agree with the feedback from the patches, the audio is now in 5.1 but it's as if all the channels are going through all the speakers at the same time, and that's making the song be feel flat? It has lost the kick in the butt, even if it's still better than most other games.

The visuals are also a bit darker, sure, you can turn off PP but the reason for pp is more range, not less. It's like your wearing sunglasses... The ambient dynamic lights (sun) needs a big boost.

The smaller things like not being able to assign commands to the wheel (why?!) and wind screen breaking if you rub door handles is a bit dramatic.

Cars feel strange, perhaps it's FF, maybe I just need more laps? But getting a car to consistently behave predictably is a real challenge. The fact that I can't place better than 3rd (so far) in the novice 500 race might be telling of my lack of skill in AC...

It's a great beta package, still has a ways to go for an RC. Though all the features are there, they aren't tuned or working in harmony. When you go to play it you have to accept some form of compromise that otherwise more complete games you don't, it's more a matter of opinion. So I'm more looking forward to the updates coming than playing what's there if that makes sense.

Anyone having any crashing issues?
I keep getting AC launcher error from windows at the end of a race or when exiting the game.

How do you disable that 5 sec penalty for a dedi server? I am running a dedi server for a league we don't need that obnoxious 5 sec thing

In the server launcher, go to the Rules tab and set "allowed tires out" to 4.

Loving the RC 1.0 so far. I have a few gripes with the onscreen widgets though. Does anyone know how to remove the big car damage indicator that stays and shows damage in red? It isn't an option in widget selector on the right side of the screen.

I didn't get rid of it, but I did make it much smaller and moved it so it isn't in the way so much.

(bad quality phone pic, sorry. and taken in 3rd person to show scale)

To do this, go to your "assettocorsa/content/texture/damage" folder and resize each pic to 188 x 188. Make a backup of the original files first in case you don't like it. Also, make sure you're saving them in the original format, which is png. Having software that can batch resize images saves a lot of time here.

Then to move it, navigate to assettocorsa/system/cfg and open the "damage_displayer.ini"

Change these parameters to match the numbers below and save.

POSITION_X=-40
DISTANCE_FROM_CENTER_Y=350

Please note that these parameters may be dependent on what resolution you use. These worked for me but if they don't for you, just keep changing them until you're happy.

Edit: If you really want to get rid of it all together, just remove the damage folder I mentioned. Make a backup of it first though in case you want it back.

This is what I love about games like Assetto Corsa. You can adjust everything to your personal preference. Most of the game's features are openly available and are simple to edit. No need to go through and try to decrypt the whole game.

I hope this doesn't mean that the top 1,000 in the online world leader boards are the ones that hacked their way from .ini hacked file car adjustments

Personally I think most things are pretty much bang on, apart from the sounds as you say. When enabling 5.1 (emulated through my Astro Mixamp) the engine sounds are much too low on most cars. Luca, the poor sound engineer, is working on it though. :) Also, yes the dark areas are a little too dark when using most of the PPs. But it's nothing I can't live with. Btw, did you try Xpadder or JoytoKey for assigning commands to the wheel?

Thanks the the excellent unbiased feedback.

When playing career yesterday some of the engine sounds were so low that when driving next to other cars I actually had to look at the RPM indicator to know when to change gears. It's borderline unplayable as it is right now, at least hugely distracting. I hope they sort this out soon.

Was it really necessary to post (spam) this into multiple threads?

With all due respect, I posted this onto two threads where it was directly relevant, not in any other thread. I would not consider that spamming; however if you do consider it spamming, than I do apologise for causing you a bother!

I ask again. What about a fun racing meeting of people from GTP?? :P

I would setup a server but my PC isn't good enough for me to do it.

Some GT2 or GT3 races. Or Abarth 500 Stage 1 to start at something slower to get closer racing.

Anyone up for it?? And to host it??

I wouldn't call it spamming mate, all good :)

If you are monetized on youtube; could not posting linked videos here be seen as a form of advertising?

I don't get why you have such a problem with ECGadget posting videos, there are plenty of other members who do the exact same thing. This is a community, it's good to share stuff! If someone gets a few bucks from advertising on the videos they post then good on them, I'd do it too. It's not hard to press "Skip Ad".

I do not believe so, since the majority of videos on youtube are monetised. Though I am not ashamed in saying right now that they do not actually make money. Which is annoying, since I want to make better videos of course!

@Punknoodle Thank you very much!

Also, I think perhaps we should not let this get too off topic; if the mods of this forum (@Wardez it's you isn't it?) feel that my videos should not be here, then please do remove them! No harm done or offense taken! Either way, let's get back on topic!

I noticed a new bug; I tried to access the tyre tester from the dev tools and it seems to completely crash the game. Anyone else had this? I wonder if it is something to do with the updated tyre model...

What you're doing isn't spam, don't worry. An occasional video in the general discussion thread here is fine, but as a general rule of thumb I'm trying to keep it to two videos per page at the most. Don't post here if you see multiple videos already posted. We want to keep this thread more focused on self-stimulating discussion instead of just link1-discusslink1-link2-stilldiscussinglink1," etc.

Trying to get more attention by dropping video links here along with the other threads isn't the best way to do things. Ideally, you would post a video in the video thread then start up a discussion here about it, such as, " Hey guys, just posted our review in the video thread, let me know what you think."

So if anyone wants to continue to post video links here, by all means, do it, but the forum posters know the rules and may be annoyed seeing them in the wrong places. This could lead to your videos possibly being ignored or, if bad habits prevail, your reputation taking a dive with certain people, which I don't want.

Yup, I get that too.

No one it seems :(

Sunday November 3 my league is running a gt3 race. We're using all stock AC content for this race and we'll use mods in the future including the Corvette DP and eventually do multiclass races.

It'll be around a 1 hour race, starts 16.00 gmt

the server is up, look for VSCR our website is www.virtualsportscarracing.com
