Anyone else having trouble with the BMW M3 E30 time trial event at Magionne in the career mode? I keep getting so close to gold and just can't pull it off and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong..

Jav
The sound itself is pretty good, what breaks it for me is how they are mixing an exaggerated drivetrain noise with it... Not only is extremely exaggerated in the way it just overpowers engine noise, but the wY they are tying it to engine RPM is pretty stupid to be honest...

I'm going to check that again when I can play AC. But (some) GT3 cars in general have some pretty mental gear whine, so you may think it's exaggerated, but in the end it might be realistic. But anyways, I gotta check it again, because I just remember the sound and not the gear whine.

But wouldn't that also be possible to mod?

Yeah, so far I won every event (career progress at about 40%) but that one, only silver. Strange because it is one of the first events lol.

I just golded it with 6600ish points. The trick is to start slowly, and keep going a little faster. Time trial is about improving by at least 1s per lap, and the more laps you run the more points you get.

In this specific case I slowed down on the straights for the first 3-4 laps and managed to go through the timing point never better than a few seconds before time ran out.

What I cant figure out is, why in the 4 race championship I got 3 first place finishes and 1 second place finish yet I am only third in the points. Im just not sure how that's possible.

Every car with Straight Cut gears have that same whine, what really makes a difference in the videos you see on Youtube all the time is camera mounting/quality. When you simply mount a GoPro directly to the roll cage you are going to pick up a lot of vibration and noise that otherwise you wouldn't hear.
Anyhow, you're right it is something that can be modded in the future, I just wish it was done properly out the box...

Loving the RC 1.0 so far. I have a few gripes with the onscreen widgets though. Does anyone know how to remove the big car damage indicator that stays and shows damage in red? It isn't an option in widget selector on the right side of the screen.

If you haven't done so already you can turn this off by going into documents/assetto corsa/cfg and opening up the gameplay.ini file and changing the [DAMAGE_DISPLAYER] to 0. It annoyed the hell out of me as well.

I've seen no indication that the DLC pack won't come this year, did you read otherwise Sele?

No but since the 1.0 is still not released, I cant imagine they will release 1.0 and 2 weeks later they announce an DLC. Only EA can do this. I only said I dont see it coming.

I was only sharing my emotions but it is a huge problem here to do this.

They have to. Project Cars has already delayed their release date due in part to the competition of this holiday season with AC and iRacing announced their own 'ring, in no small part due to the hype surrounding AC and its first properly scanned version of the track. They can't afford to lose this momentum because they'd lose money. Let's not forget there's still two months left in the year.

As far as i know the plan was to announce the dream DLC as soon as the game exits early access, with a discount for those who bought the game during early access.

👍 👍 would be great to get it soon. Just got my transducers and figuring out to setup simvibe properly. Its a whole new dimension/immersion and I cant wait to check it out on the Nordschleife.

Was suprised about the new 252MB patch. But I see, nothing mindblowing:

1.0.6 RC
- Launcher default theme: fix for opponent skin selection method
- Launcher default theme: fix for special event opponent level
- updated FMod project for modders (in SDK\Audio folder). Please use Fmod 1.05.03 - pipeline still WIP
- exposed MAX_CHANNELS parameter in assetto_corsa.ini. Lower to 32 ONLY IF you experience stuttering/missing audio during gameplay
- fixed missing backfires for some cars
- optimized FMod thread occupancy
- Lotus 98T qualifying turbo and engine rev damage balancing

I've been playing iracing since DK2 support came out. Just played AC again. If you set your IPD correctly, and get 75hz low persistence mode to engage, this really is far and away the best racing game for VR. Was kind of hoping my memory was being faulty, but man this game is awesome.

1.0.7 RC
- Updated FMOD project (SDK\Audio folder)
- Fixed Fmod error handle caused huge log file (and stuttering in some cases)
- Improved overall volume balance
- Fixed opponents volume and attenuation during gameplay. Situational awareness much improved
- Optimized average number of channels used in FMod with many opponents
- Balance adjustments on BMW Z4 GT3 performance
- Balance adjustments on Ferrari 458 GT2, Mercedes SLS GT3 and Formula Abarth fuel consumption
- Mercedes SLS GT3 Traction Control and ABS levels corrections

That's some weird lighting / bloom effect... o.o

The track itself looks awesome though!

That's showing laser scanned data. Look closer and you see it's all small dots. That's the data they get from laser scanning ;)

Just a Q, did those Forza dev showed any proof of making of Forza 5's nord? Cause for some reason I don't believe a single thing that those devs spit out of their mouth. They have a history of lying, so I don't trust a single thing they say.

The problem with Forza 5 is that Turn 10 seems to only laser scan the track that is within the white lines, not the kerbs or the surrounding terrain, also IMO the scan they made is not comparable to GT6, AC or iRacing level of detail, yes the general shape of the track is correct, but it lacks the finer details.

Gran Turismos version of NS is still the best version for me. Did not played the FM5 one. But I am sure the AC one will finally be the best version of the NS out there after the GT version. Looks like it is not that far away anymore.

I am!

edit: saw the Spa video, if you edit the lighting ini in the Spa folder and put something like 30 or 35 for sun pitch and around 280 for track orientation (don't remember the exact name) the sun and shadow direction will be more or less like they are in GT5 or iRacing Spa between 10am and 12am. You can do this for Monza too (although i don't remenber what value i used for track orientation) to make the sun and shadows direction similar to GT5 between 1pm to 2pm.
