So DK2 support definitely gets a failing grade at this point. Really, they would have been better off listening to people cry about lack of support, because what they've included wasn't ready in the least bit.
Paul, did the DK2 patch that came yesterday fix the issues you had?

But good lord, how awesome is the 458 GT2 @spa? Really an mindblowing experience it was.
It cannot be described in words. But I'm pretty sure my face was :D the whole time.

The 5.1 sound is bugged and is rendered as mono. Check this for a quick workaround that involves editing some ini files. They are working on it, of course. After applying the fix I noticed quite a difference.
Aha, so that's why the sounds were somewhat tamed house cat-ish instead of angry lion-ish. Good info, thanks. 👍
Edit: Talking about the volume and richness of course, not the quality of the samples.

Carear is limited to 10 laps until pit stops are integrated into single player. AI can't handle them yet. And tires only last so long.

Well thats a let down. I wish they would have waited with the release of the career mode until the AI pit stops would have been finished. Instead of getting a 1/4 experience, I´ll prefer to wait a bit longer. I was all hyped for the career mode but 10 lap races suck. And as I can see, there are also no practice and qualifying laps in the career mode. That remembers me too much at Gran Turismo. Start last, become first in x laps.

Glad that SMS delayed Pcars another 5 months so the game only can get better.

Oh, yeah. It's still not ideal the way it's made primary, but they've fixed that as best they can given the current system.

The actual racing is now my new benchmark for VR. I always thought the X-Bow was a bit of a mutt in the looks department, but I raced that thing on Trento Bondone and was stunned by its beauty. I was craning my head all over the place examining the cockpit of that thing. And then to see the life-size shocks through the hood as you raced, just an exquisite automobile.

DK2 is still rough around the edges and doesn't make the greatest first impression, but if you give it time and adapt to it, it's an experience that completely sells you. There's no going back for me. I can't even imagine how much CV1 is going to blow my mind, because I'm already reeled in with DK2.

Mine is fine too, using latest (1.1 I think). Although even before the update, I would occasionally experience the Nordschleife glitching out completely - in that suddenly I have no control and the throttle is stuck wide open so the car just pinballs all over the place for 30-60 seconds before I can get it to snap out of it. (I'm usually madly mashing the keyboard to get it to wake up.) Last time it did it for about 2 minutes and I was tempted to Ctrl-alt-del when it finally released control back to me. Very weird. Hasn't done it yet with the AC 1.0.0 RC but I didn't play that long last night. Just about to now so... let's hope that's a thing of the past.

I held about an hour and a bit on the ring yesterday and it seemed to be A-OK. So I think it may be a thing of the past like you have said.

In terms of sounds, I do hear improvements, but not much of them. I think they have mostly been rebalanced not actually resampled yet!

If that's true then I feel the opposite. Bummer!
Was really looking forward to it, especially since I was too late to buy into the early access / beta or whatever it's called.

I would suggest instead to wait for a sale.
Probably, at that time some patches has arrived in the meanwhile, meaning it's a better product...

I was also totally looking forward to it but even the latest build videos were not looking good. Believe it or not, I was even counting the days till November. But anyway I prefer a better balanced game in March 2015 instead of an beta in November.

Yeah sounds are somewhat tamer, I noticed that too. Maybe I should just bump up the volume a bit and tweak the eq on my sound system...

Unfortunately the weird glitching at the 'Ring happened again last night (as of 1.0.1 RC). And it often seems to be my *second* session of the night (e.g. I play around 7pm, then turn off the machine, then again around 10pm turn it back on and back into AC which is often when it will do the glitch about 10 minutes into the session). I'm almost wondering if it is somehow related to Steam... Anyway once it gives control back to me, I can go on playing and often there are no more problems for that session.

At least I am used to the feel now - on my DFGT wheel the difference is pretty amazing. More/better FFB but it somehow made me slower ;) Almost there now...

Hey guys! Loving this update, but having a couple of gripes with the sounds... The GT3 Merc and the GT-2 Ferrari seem a bit muted, most of the GT cars do in fact and the Z4 GT-3 the sound itself is amazing, but it just annyoys the hell out of me that they tie the transmission whine directly to engine RPM when in reality that's consecuent to drivetrain RPM...
Any suggestions on how to get around this? Maybe some line of code to rise the engine volume?

Do you have any automatic scans or updates enabled? If its happening around the same time always it could be something like that causing the usb to freeze. If not maybe try a different usb.

But one other cool thing is the career mode is completely modable. You can make your own and championships and it will get more attention from the devs. This is very new to sims!

They know that all the cool stuff like tire wear, damage, etc has a dependency on a means to fix it all in pitstops so it should be a priority.

Edit: was pcars recently delayed? Or was that in the past? I would not be surprised if they delay again. It would be a shame due to all the PR but it doesn't seem ready for consoles...

I thinks its because only a few cars are using the new sounds at the moment. Only the BMW in that group is updated.

Anybody else having problems assigning the g27 buttons since the update?

I can see the buttons being recognised in the bottom left hand corner but it won't actually assign the button. So I can't glance left/right, change view etc

Makes sense, gonna try removing the gear whine all together from the sounds folder and see how it goes...

You have to click the left field not the smaller right one and it should work.

Yes I know the career mode is customizable and some guys on the AC forum are already working on some mods :)
But somehow there will be a lack of motivation because there will be no achievements or trophys. That was at least something that I was motivated for. In GT you get cars what is a satisfaction too. Lets see what the future brings.

Hmmm, I may test that one. I did a few sessions today on the ring and it seemed okay. On my last one, I broke the WR time for the Zonda R! 6:44.672! BOOYAH!

Oh man, that's a massive delay... Just skipped the whole holiday. WMD are learning what so many others have, console development and PC are worlds apart...

Hate to say it but I wasn't looking forward to AC and Pcars fighting for my time... I just hope Kronus don't relax because of this... And I'm glad we have RC1 prior to this pcars delay.

It got a 65MB update today. Can't seem to find what the change log is though.

Gotta agree on the 458 GT2, but the the SLS AMG GT3 is okay, but that Z4 Sound is SPOT ON. It is orgasmic!

Just tried the new patch, a few things stood out

1. Sounds - Oh my, things took a turn for the awesome!
2. BMW M3 E30 - Physics updates awesome, you can get those rears spinning and that back end out now! I might be late on this one but I remember this car having too much traction and being hard to get sideways.

I can't get over how much of an improvement the sounds are in replays, and even in the car. There are still some strange bugs at certain times but it's such an improvement overall I love it. Why can't Gran Turismo get this treatment?

Man how these 5 second penalties suck! They must do something about it! I mean, mostly, when you get off the track, you lose time anyway. So there is no need for an extra 5 seconds penalty. I fear to go to my limits only because of this 5 secons penalty. They should add some penalties to the parts of the track where you can shortcut but not to the complete track.

Shame the Z4's gearwhine seems to be a part of the engine sound and not separate though.

Edit: Ooops. It was just mentioned I see.

I have to agree, that is one thing that kind of ruins the experience for me at times.
