Only just tried out online today and ended up in a M3 DTM @ Spa room. Caught up to some random guy in practice who then stuck me for a few laps, and we were both dishing it out until I ran out fuel. I then went back out and we did it all over again. :D Haven't had as much fun since the GT5 online days.

A quick run down of events for me this evening:
1. Downloaded and installed RSR live timing for Assetto Corsa.
2. Ran some laps around Spa.
3. Uninstalled RSR live timing for Assetto Corsa.

It's simply demoralising when a lap time you think is actually quite good turns out to be utter garbage.

 same here. When you do 100s of laps on a track with the same car and the gap is still 2 seconds to #1, thats insane.

That's what I really enjoy the most. Just bare in mind that if you look at the date on some of these lap times they're more than 6-7 months old so the physics of the car is different from what you're now driving.

More like 2 secs per sector for me. But hey, gives me a reason to keep practicing whenever I can so that I can improve. Don't give up @Punknoodle 👍

Lol cheers guys! I won't be giving up on my racing that's for sure, not with my CSWv2 due any time now. To be honest I'm not all that competitive, just do it for the feeling of racing awesome cars around tracks I'll never drive in person, but it would be nice to know I'm at least in the ballpark.

Like I have put quite a few laps around Silverstone GP in the Lotus Evora GTC with all assists off and when I watch the replays they look fast and smooth and I'm bang on the racing line but I'm still like 6 seconds off the pace. It's crazy.

I've tried trail braking in a few places with good results but I'm not consistent with it yet. I'll keep trying :)

Just need more seat time.

Fellas, fellas, if you showed up at the real track for a weekend and was within 2 seconds of the top pilots you'd be pretty happy right? Heck I don't have RSR yes but I'd be happy being within 2 seconds of the best of the best for sure:P
By the way, does RSR account for driving aids or tires in any way or is it one car/track combo and it's assumed you'll use whatever is available to be as fast as possible?

git gud skrub

Yeah, but I know that feeling. I feel like that I could keep up pretty well on the Nordschleife, but I don't it's supported yet? Anyways, for the official tracks I suck terribly compared to some of the others

I hope they have a skin with Shummy's name on it

The Pro Rank requiires all aids to be off.
But when comparing times on the website you can see the settings other people used

Made my first excursions onto Assetto Corsa yesterday, after a couple of days struggling to get the hardware recognised and properly installed. Finally yesterday afternoon at 4:30 I actually got to drive a car on a track, the first time for me and a 'true' sim. All I can say is WOW, over and over...I am so happy I could weep tears of joy, really! I've basically been waiting to see something like this since the very first NFS Hot Pursuit on my old 486 PC and voodoo card. I haven't altered any settings yet for the FFB and yet for me at least I cannot believe how utterly real the feeling is. All the frustrations I used to get with GT/F1/Other racing games where you cannot control the car properly because it doesn't feel right has gone. I felt like a duck in water, the feeling of different cars even seeming so natural made it such a joy to just take cars out and give them a go. So I cannot thank the developers enough for producing such a superb simulation of the driving experience, thankyou thankyou thankyou.

Now all I need is a couple of good long p2p runs like the twisty hill climb which for the first time with any FFB wheel, I felt like I was actually driving a car and letting the wheel self-center through the steering wheels (i.e. the two front wheels) geometry and toe-in. Wonderful, truly wonderful. I am such a happy bunny.

Welcome to the darkside:cheers:

I finally got around to purchase the United Racing Design pack for AC. Curious on how these cars are driving.

They are great. The only problem I have with them is that being payware, it's hard to find online servers with them, and the few that exist are mostly empty.

I sometimes race the AI, but AI in Assetto Corsa is IMO still not finished. Too many crashes between cars and too many weird behavior on track.

Another problem I have is that I can't find any good setups for them online. And I suck at setting up cars :S

Yeah, it's rather unfortunate really. And to be honest, not to understate their efforts, but 9,80€ is WAY too high in my honest opinion. They're great cars, I'm sure they've put a lot of work into it, however there are some other mods out there with similar quality (the Ginetta G55, Sierra Cosworth, Zakspeed Ford Escort, the Miura, etc.) which are all on a similar level (maybe not as high as URD pack, but close) and they're free. :indiff:

@HKS racer: Maybe you should remove "Imminent" from the thread title? :)

I notices at 3am CST, i was installing mods and it asked me to install an update, looked online and I seen the above!! Congrats on the official release.

Super stoked for them! Such a great game, and I hope it'll thrive even more and I'm really looking forward to the RUF Yellowbird, which is going to be released at the end of this month/year.

Assetto Corsa 1.0 is out now!

Assetto Corsa 1.0 is now available for download on Steam [Assetto Corsa Steam page].
Version 1.0 signifies not just the long-term achievement but also a new start. The hugely successful Early Access program is now complete thanks to the contribution of hundreds of thousands of gamers. If you have joined the Early Access program, we are pleased to announce that version 1.0 is available for you as free upgrade.

With the completion of our version 1.0 milestone, Assetto Corsa is now leaving Early Access status, and is available from Steam right now [Assetto Corsa Steam page].

The new version includes an extended career with fully blown championship series’, new features, improved gameplay, new sound sets and sound effects, new and improved post-processing effects as well as several optimizations, including some important refinements in the physics department, an updated tyre model and force feedback guaranteeing an even better driving experience. Assetto Corsa 1.0 introduces also the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta 2014 Launch Edition, available as free bonus content and the sought after Ruf Yellowbird which will be available once again as free bonus content by the end of the year; when available, the game will be updated automatically on Steam.

One journey ends, another begins ; version 1.0 by no means indicates the end Assetto Corsa development, on the contrary, this is now just the beginning of a long journey. The development team is already working on new cars, tracks, features and content that will improve the Assetto Corsa experience even more. As a preview of what to expect, take 50 of the most highly anticipated sport cars and five new tracks, all produced and released as official licensed content in 2015, either in DLC packs or as free bonus content.

What are you waiting for? See you on track!

Once again, we would like to thank our fans and Early Access contributors for your support.

Sometimes they release mini-patch for fixes, so I'm gonna wait 'till tomorrow before try this new version, which seems that it improved the gameplay and physic.
