Assetto Corsa PC Mods General DiscussionPC

[Warren B]

A great person has already made it in the meantime, the beta was released yesterday... so I probably won't finish my own version. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/fiat-x1-9-1975.55364/

Please continue but converted into the Abarth. Would a shame to waste all that time and effort

[Wlynsan]

That can be fixed from the graphics settings, in the "mirror quality" option.

Even with high quality, it didn't solve it..thanks

This may be interesting for all track modders:

Today John5i4 posted detailed instructions on how to integrate the new 3d trees from the recent CSP update into your tracks:
https://github.com/John5i4/Shutoko-Revival-Project/wiki/CSP-3D-Trees
The outcome of his first tests already looks very promising:

I am quite late to the party, but I'm currently in the process of converting the track as it is one of my favourite fictional tracks ever! It has been a nightmare so far as I am not very experienced in trackbuilding and maya, and it will take some time.

Update: Finally managed to combine the meshes and got it running in ac, the trackmesh will need heavy improvement because it's way too low poly and I haven't done UVs and materials yet. Many new things to learn, this has been quite a steep learning curve !

[Friedhelm]

Even with high quality, it didn't solve it..thanks

"High quality" doesn't impact blurriness. It just makes it so transparencies are reflected, the mirror render distance is pushed out and there's anisotropic filtering in the reflection. To get a clear image, you need to pick a mirror resolution that isn't super low! Set it to something reasonable like 128x512.

If that doesn't help, see if it's the same in other cars or if this particular car is somehow borked.

If it's all cars, then, if you have the latest CSP, check out the new option under Smart Mirror called "Add MIPS to rear view mirrors". The description says "reduces aliasing in reflections". I suppose it's possible this could, if something goes wrong, introduce blurriness.

Mate, the Abarth is different.
A completely new 3D body should be built. There is a GTR2 version, but too low poly - can be used, but... so the Abarth would be a completely new project.

[Pfalzdriver]

can this problem be solved?

Didnt I already answer you a couple of days ago at RD?

Yes, it can be solved by changing the direction of the light source.

Fair enough. I don't know 3d stuff, I thought perhaps you could modify what you have already done, rather than start from scratch. At the end of the day, it's your call if you decide what work you've put into it is worth altering or throwing away.

I won't throw it away... maybe I'll modify it a bit and make it a rally version in the future.

... at the expense of a good bunch of fps, I fearfully suppose, isn't? (Sad emoji here).

I want Assetto Corsa 2, not CSP update or CSP update update and especially not CSP update update update.

[Warren B]

I want Assetto Corsa 2, not CSP update or CSP update update and especially not CSP update update update.

but surely, while we dont have AC2, isnt it better than having nothing updated? Imagine having AC and no mods or anything updated, and we're waiting, because we dont want update after update.. I think AC wouldnt be anything like it is today and no AC2 would be considered.

[Masscot]

I want Assetto Corsa 2, not CSP update or CSP update update and especially not CSP update update update.

One does not depend on the other.

[Peter Boese]

I want that, not that. If that is out: But i wanted that not that. And now we have that and that will never come.

Mate, I'm also a modder - I have no problem with mods or updates.
However, it is a problem if a certain mod "obligatory" be used if I want to use the others.

F1 2022 Ficitonal Skin For Hanoi Street Circuit by @shi

I know there is conversion from Codemasters but I love all works of @shi and so I thought about creating a skin for it.

I would like to ask you if someone could make a more competitive AI for this circuit.

SKIN: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/f1-2022-fictional-skin-for-hanoi-street-circuit.55382/
TRACK: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hanoi-street-circuit.32281/

I hope you like it!

Thanks

If AC2 means I have to start over installing new mods, and mods, and mods... leave me alone with my trusty vintage AC. And then y'all can start calling me The Grumpy Old Man on the Porch.

Not that I really care about this, but FYI hood and trunk immediately close very fast after opening.
What I do care about is that without reflections FX there's still no rear lights, blinkers, brake lights... only reverse light.
Just repeating this because there must be something 'wrong' since it's my only installed car with refraction lights where they don't work.
Could you please check ?

[_Bazza_]

Found screnshoots of both these cars: the Matra MS 630 and Lola T70 (first gen) converted for AC.

[..]

Currently Team WSC Legends is working on a mid and late 60's World Sports Car pack. The Lola T70 Mk3 GT is also part of that.

Release date: When it's done

I know about the animation with trunk and hood, but for me it's not really relevant to do new animation for these. But who really uses these animations ingame all day? In showroom they are working as they should.

I didn't get enough time to look at the refraction again, so for this update i didn't changed anything on the refractions. When I have a bit more time in the near future, i'll take a closer look at the problem with the refraction. I didn't want to delay the update any longer because of the refraction problem.

From what I've heard, it shouldn't impact FPS much at all.
But it's still early days, we'll soon know, I assume.

Hillclimb Los Marteles Gran Canaria - rain and grass and vao and so on...

Track can be found here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hillclimb-los-marteles-up-down.5134/

Not the most exciting track but but it's nice to travel up the hill on the island.

• You should be able to copy the files straight into you assetto corsa folder as long as you have the track installed. It will ask to override - backup your track if you want to keep the original files.

• If the new grass still won't show check your assetto corsa folder: extension/textures/grass_fx. You should have a "highlands.dds" file in there, otherwise no grassFX.

[MrHunt]

I want to look after the complete refraction
