This would make as much sense as adding a Ford Escort to War Thunder.

Why not just fly Airwolf in a... you know... flight simulator?

I mean, there is an airplane mod for AC that you can actually fly... Helicopter might be something cool to experiment with :lol: :D

stupid question, is it possible to make a model of "airwolf" for AC? :P

I'm a big fan of the series from the 80s.

Not sure that AC physics could support the use of a rotor-craft, though perhaps. We could probably better see this as one of those copters that are flying around the track. With CSP it could probably even shoot missiles or fireworks :D

I downloaded the 2016 version of Kyalami yesterday but when I tried to load it up, it just went back to the menu screen. Is this something I can fix?

As you're new to the PC version of AC, you may not know that lots of mod content these days requires 'Content Manager' & 'Custom Shaders Patch' to work. Kyalami 2016 is among them. Without CSP, it won't run.

If you want to learn about Custom Shaders Patch, you could start by watching the video linked below. This is the first of a three part tutorial on the same youtube channel. There are also a number of other youtube videos covering the same subject.

Content Manager (which is a new UI essentially) is found here:

To run 'Content Manager' & 'Customs Shaders Patch', it's also best to run the weather app/system called SOL, which you can download at Race Department:

Be aware, running CSP & SOL requires a lot of ongoing fiddling and adjustments, so if you're not up for that, you're better just running the standard AC package and skipping mods that require them.

So um, since my AC doesn't seem to like going a day without having issues, I'm getting crashes related to this now:

Yes, that's with CSP and SOL. No, I haven't been able to isolate which car/track causes this, although it's only been a problem for me so far with this group of cars:

Tried disabling smart shadows, that does not seem to be the problem.

It's strange because the game "crashes" but you can still get input from the car through the controller/wheel like the game's still running.

Either way the error code returns all of these things referencing shadows and rendering. Here it is in more detail:

Don't think I've seen a 3D model though.

I remember trying to drive the second one, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, around the Nordschleife in Gran Turismo. Everything was going great... well as good as it gets at 17mph. Then I started up the first hill... and immediately knew my attempt at a lap was futile. It just stopped moving.
 
Updated my U.S. Road Course database. If I have anything wrong or if there's something you feel should be added don't hesitate. This is just everything that I could find over a few years worth of mods and digging.



Thanks for this. 1,300+ tracks and many I don't have yet....1st one I tried was Gingerman and it is broken a lil....

It doesn't have an AI line so I did a dirty basic one to get it going. I also baked a VAO patch(not sure if it made a difference?)

The grass is horrendous. If anyone within the group here that can do grassfx, it could use it badly.

What drew me to it first was the cool timing tower in the picture for the track. There isn't one building structure around the whole track, so that could use a more advanced fix.

OK, I think I've figured out the cause of the crashes.

I'm on CSP v1.64 and SOL v.2.02 and it seems that being in the vicinity of a Kunos BMW Z4 E89 causes the crash. I've confirmed the crashes both in races with other cars and in just one-makes with the Z4. No other car in the group I specified above exhibited this same issue.

Now the question is, why is the Z4 the center of these crashes? Could it perhaps be another bad config released by CM like the 370Z with the disappearing headlights?

EDIT: Did some more testing, the Step 1 and Drift variants of the Z4 also have this issue. Well, they use the same model so no surprise there.

Surely this issue with the Z4 and CSP/SOL can't be unique to me? I'm running relatively recent versions of both so someone must have encountered this at some point.

One question, which likely has more to do with my settings than the Toyota S-FR Cup:
During replays - I don't have engine sound as the car approaches from a distance.
It kicks in suddenly (not gradually) as the car comes closer to the cam.
Have you or anyone experienced something like this? Any recommendations?
Only happens with this car at most tracks for some reason . . . again, in replay mode.

Further update to the Z4 shenanigans. Updating CSP to 1.70 from 1.64 seems to have fixed the issue for now.

I still find it strange that the CSP version I was on was supported by SOL, yet it was causing compatibility issues with Kunos content. Either way I'm just happy it's working now and boy, do I really hate CSP.

Further update to the Z4 shenanigans. Updating CSP to 1.70 from 1.64 seems to have fixed the issue for now.

I still find it strange that the CSP version I was on was supported by SOL, yet it was causing compatibility issues with Kunos content. Either way I'm just happy it's working now and boy, do I really hate CSP.
When that version of SoL came out 1.64 was the current CSP version. If you use a newer version of SoL (the betas can easily be found on the discord) they recommend using the latest CSP).
 
Hi guys, i am using the bmw m5 LPD version. The problem is that the wipers of this car cant remove the rain drops on the windows. I tried to add this lines to the extension (ext_config.ini) but no luck
[WIPERS_TRACE...]
SURFACE =INTERNAL_GLASS, WINDOWS
WIPERS =wiper_left_base, wiper_right_base, wiper_left_rubber, wiper_right_rubber. The wipers just moving through the raindrops without removing. Any help will be highly appreciated !

It happened to me some time ago, try to use a filter compatible with the version of Sol you are using. By doing this I fixed the crashes.
