RMi you da real MVP :bowdown: Finally we will have almost all the fictional tracks from GRID1-3 in AC. The only ones missing are Detroit Demolition and Miami. The latter unfortunately is only in GRID 2 so I don't know if you have the source files for that.




The latest GRID game (technically GRID 4, but the official name is GRID 2019) also adds Havana and Shanghai, but who knows when that will become rip-able.

Hello guys!

I share my Escort RS 1600 turbo BTCC class1.

Made from EarthWormJim one with his permision.

It needs some tweaks:
It has a kind of blue neon light in the ford logos when lights are on, for example.

the template for skinning is a pain in the ass 'cause has several parts.
I made the the Datapost one.

Inside the rar you will find templates and old photos of liveries.. SO skins are nedeed!! :)

The car is very fun to drive and it matches quite well with the AE86 ATCC. both compete each otger back then!

This is my first mod for the community and not the last one.

But you shouldn't use capitals in the car folder name. It prevents CM from recording driven distance and top speed.
EWJ90_ESCORT_RST_86_ostss --> ewj90_escort_rst_86_ostss will work fine.

WIP Action/Scenic replay cams

If you've been driving this track on @FileMissing's online server, then you may enjoy and appreciate these replay cams... I've spent lots of editing time trying to vividly accentuate the driver's experience on those tight-turns, and road-edges - all whilst (attempting) to go ballistic - and in some form of control.



On the flipside, and as a bonus, the static-cams provide glimpses of the beautiful landscape, moving boats, ascending air-balloons, etc... For the racer-at-heart, you'll enjoy the action-cam positions, viewing your laps being driven to the max and on edge at all times... In the meantime, enjoy the video - to be released in a few days. Just finalising the timings and FOV for best results...

Note: save your best-time-replays for now, and then watch them post-cam installation.

Rusty is part of the dev team. Iija obviously likes to have him as a spokes person. He may have grown up reading how devs treat the customers with other titles and is simply projecting what he thinks is the correct behaviour...

Like it or lump it they developed AC 2.0 and want encryption to b a part of that... i doubt anything will change that.
We are already in a position that they ultimately control a lot of what makes AC still used so much today...

Means nothing mate - if Kunos pull the trigger and release an update to 'kill' 'AC 2.0' (lol) what are they gonna do ? Oh yeah, nothing. Kunos still controls AC, not some raggedy mod team.

Don't be too hard, this is the first time I change a car physic.

I need some help to "to place the car back over its wheels", I try advices provide by GZeroD on his Legion's blog, but don't be able to save my changes made in CM showroom, so if someone could finish the car without changing the physics, I really like the way it drive.

This Auto Union is drivable and in term of lap's time, seems believable.
I watch a lot of video footage about it, old and recent and the actual car, in contrary of the one in AC, seems to be able to drive in straight line at 50 Km/h :)
Old's car were not undrivable, it is something to drive it, something else to make the time lap of old racers.

For the moment, try it on track, you will see, it is fun to drive then when the graphical part of this mod will be made, we could enjoy it in replay too.

Nobody should share mods like RSS, URD, etc... But simdream? Really? Whatever, if it isn't allowed nobody must do it. (Apart from csrinru which i do not care about).

Edit: By the way why would anyone want those mods, i don't understand it. Still, personal preference i guess :confused:.

OK not to be too pedantic, Ilyja has developed AC into what it is today, if someone says they don't use CM etc then they are looked at like crazy people.

Therefore my point stands, if he wants encryption to be apart of that, then nothing anyone says or does will change it. Its like moaning about PCars 3, SMS won't change it, if you don't like their direction then really you have one other choice.

Encryption is here to stay as i can't see it being reversed. If you take a look at what they say about this thread on the CM discord even if they wanted to get rid of it they would keep it just to annoy some vocal people..... Maybe a better approach would of been to try to discuss the issues around it rather than winding up the dev team.

Again, wrong.

Kunos still own the rights to this game. If a modder makes a decision that would potentially affect the money that Kunos makes from AC (and making all mods encrypted could potentially do this) then Kunos would slap that modder with a Cease And Desist so fast that it would make their head spin!

Race Department are well aware of this which is exactly why they won't allow encrypted mods on their website.

The power of encrypted or encrypted paid mods is that people are willing to pay for or use encrypted mods. if we/you/I stay away from them by stop using them or paying for them then they lose their power.

Thank God AC is full of mods, actually more than the ones that we are using for casual gaming/simracing.

Do you want to buy a mod? Buy from the pros. Do you want to buy an encrypted paid mod? Buy a finished one.

That simple.

Ilyja knows better - it's not, never was and will never be 'his' game, no matter how many things he's done to it.
It's a Kunos IP, not some dorks on Discord crying their tits out because some people are vocal about changes made to... A property they have no legal claims over ? Cry me a river mate.

I love what AC has become, I truly do, but that know-it-all attitude is tiring. If you're so great why don't you work on a game from the ground-up ? Surely something you could do, right ? Oh, yeah. Money. Le nerf de la guerre.

They're modders in the end, not Kunos employees - and some people with their inflated ego and immense sense of self-worth quickly forgot that.

It's like people encrypting other games' properties, justifying it by 'but I've worked on it therefore it's mine' !, the thing we've talked at length yesterday - you're porting stuff ripped illegally from another game and you're mad because people have been either modifying it or decrypting it ? Jesus.

How can we run two different version of AC on the same PC, my worry is about the assetto corsa folder in the documents folder.

Now that we have the Reboot Team's version of Lime Rock, would any capable person be willing to create the missing two chicane -layout for it? (And maybe even the one without first chicane but with the second chicane, this was maybe available in Forza 7..?) Lovely track, very nice, but it's one of those all-right-turn/left-tire-killer -tracks, and the second chicane would be a very welcome variation.

it looks like the car is floating in the air due to the wrong radius of the wheels
Radius should be ok I have use the one of the original car, it is just the finish process:

"Use CM showroom, align using data, and fiddle with 'GRAPHICS_OFFSET=' inside car.ini to place the car back over its wheels.
Use CM showroom, align using data, and fiddle with 'TRACK=' inside suspensions.ini along with [GRAPHICS_OFFSETS] to fine tune the wheel's positions. Note that CM doesn't handle the offsets properly and you will need to check these ingame, using the dev suspensions app. (Enable Dev apps in CM, activate ingame and use numpad 1,2,3,4 to show the wheels.)

Cannot do these, I change everything and I cannot save my changes...
If someone know how to do it, I would really appreciate some help, I think it is a 5 min fix

I have created a very simple skin for the Valencia circuit. As the version of assetto corsa was not up to date, I decided to improve it with my little skill in modding. If my skin needs any improvements, please improve it, you are free to do so. I hope you like it :)
