Really loving the 320i, one of my all time favourite cars. I had to quote out the fur shader for the steering wheel, it's a real fps-killer, at least on my setup. It eats 70 fps alone. Other than that - spot on!

Steam / PC restart didn't do **** lol (and I don't have any overlays on, so...)

Only AC is affected btw. Perpetual beta innit.
Revert to any (recent) previous version for generating preview, then back to the latest.
Its a known bug that would be corrected on the next update acording to Discord
 
So automobile catalog decided to lock torque data behind a paywall. We can't have nice things for free anymore 😭
Price is actually reasonable but for the amount of cars I research monthly nowadays, it's not worth it. Served me well for the last couple of years but will have to rely on other sources from now on.
TBH it was never acurate, not one car. Only a representitive curve nearly always far from reality.
Over the years of doing actual mod engines, I used many sources but never that place because it was not even close to anything real.

You should be researching actual dyno-plots.
Google for your desired "car/engine + dyno" and you can find real dyno values forr most efforts.
You can also interpet basic values first from hp/tq at x rpm to start building your own plot.

Dyno plots are power at wheels through transmission loses, equipment calibration differences, employee competence settings and what not.

Using their torque data (inc. transmission loss) + weight (incl. driver) + gear ratios in combination, has given me pretty accurate acceleration results when compared to fastestlaps.com acceleration tests and it's something I've done and tested for hundreds of cars so i'd disagree with your statement of "it's not even close".

Nice work @Mike08, great to see this abandoned track getting the attention it deserves.
One bad asset that jumps out every lap is the low-fi fallen tree that looks like it's glued together from toothpicks.

Excuse me but is this Focus RS Mk1 mod released somewhere? The only mod I found of this car is the hilariously bad one from Pedro

why not test yourself?

So I've taken a look at it, and yeah, it's still not up to scratch for racing - or even hotlapping really.


The biggest problem is the road itself - it's severely bumpy and peaky, way too much in sector 1 and on the back straight - so much so that it's tossing and flipping cars around. I averaged about 3 or 4 spectacular AI crashes a lap in the RSS Huracan, a quality AI car - and in a few laps, over half of a 24 car field had retired.


It's also very, very inaccurate to the source track when it comes to elevation (or at least the GT3/4 rendition that I am so familiar with). It's terrible to drive, to be honest - violent and unpolished. To be expected for the alpha version it was abandoned in - but nowhere near ready for any kind of driving.


The AI is very poor and slow, although a lot of it has to do with the turbulent mesh - but I can tell it's not been done correctly, as the cars all fold towards the outside line at the start. This is generally due to the line being too far off center of the starting grid, so the stupid AC AI get confused and crawl towards where that line is. (EDIT: That's exactly what it is, the back half of the grid is outside of the line and have no idea what to do).


There are also still no track limits, as I mentioned in my last post about this. It is thus possible (although difficult) to cut the final chicane.

There is indeed no pit lane entry or exit line - so you can go as fast as you like in the pits, and the "pit lane" state is not logged in telemetry for apps like CrewChief. The boxes do seem to work, though they are misaligned.


Sector times seem to work properly, although the lap ends a hair late. But the Track Map does not - opening the app shows nothing but the arrow.



Hate to write things like this, but while I do like the visual flair quite a bit, this one is nowhere near ready for release. This Trial Mountain was in alpha for a reason when abandoned, and from an actual driving perspective, it very much still is.


I was going to offer to rewrite the AI, but in this state, it's not worth it. Mostly because the road surface and layout still needs lots of work. I'd recommend everyone simply stick with the PieZello version until further work on the track can be done, by Reboot or whoever is up to the task. The PieZello one is not perfect (and needs a modern facelift, as track textures and models seems to have problems with up-to-date CSP/Pure lighting), but the AI is passable and it's much more accurate to the original track.


Just my two cents.

every time i select SC it asks to restart the race from CM
I can't do all the work for you. So read the PDF in the Pro version (paid) if you have it, of course.....
At some point....

The PDF is very clear on how to implement it to work. I tested it on versions of Kunos circuits and more well-known modders, it works perfectly. The safety car selected at the start of the championship remains the same for the other races. However, it can still be improved on less used circuits.

Probably caused by some CSP setting.

Goto /Documents/Assetto Corsa/cfg/ rename the "extension" folder to something different.
Restart CM. It will create a new "extension" folder. You can restore it later.
Select Pure as weather style again in CSP weatherFX settings.

If its working with default CSP settings - you could copy back the single csp settings files from the backup folder and you see which modul it causes.

Also try with Kunos track and car, just to be sure its not caused by a mod...
