Who did these skins? i know it was somebody on here..........

i am looking for your PSD or PDN file...........its going to save me doing the blue pattern again basically i am looking for the skin without AO so i can modify it for the bathurst 1000

all i can get is the stickers with the bit of black in the centre the rest of the skin is stripped of from Cyrils OG skin (see last picture)

I have fixed plenty of things on their F1 2003 mod. When I adjusted the car data I noticed they're based on VS 1998 cars physics. Those cars also had an issue with the rear being way too slippery, especially the Ferrari. It was like a drift car. Fixed that. It was actually not bad on RaceProject mod (user driving wise) but AI cars didn't stay on track in circuits like Hockenheim. They took a lot of "power slides" and went to the gravel.

Those cars didn't also work on any Monaco track as their front tires didn't turn enough in the Loews hairpin and they drove straight to the wall. Fixed that too. There are some performance issues too, like Renault and McLaren being slower than Minardis when you set them AI controlled. Well I have fixed that too (or fixing it right now).

They sound good and look really good too. Driver equipment is superbly made. And after my adjustments they drive good too (I think they're Virtua Simulazione car base). Hopefully my fixes help. I'm not a car modder but I can do some basic stuff. You'd think you'd check this kind of things out before asking money for it, huh?

Edit: They don't have it on sale on their Patreon. I guess it's a free mod then, huh? Or did they take it off?

The package I have is 2003 5.0. Does anyone have any clue where this mod is available?

Well I'm happy to have 2003 season. It was one amazing season in real F1. These four gentlemen created a few years of superb enterntainment.

It might have been the absolute PEAK of F1. At least very close to that. I will release that season and car fixes later today.

from what i recall it was on patreon, but Sim Dream filled a DMCA takedown to take the 2003 mod down from patreon hence why you don't see it

Yeah. Either way I made the fixes. Increased rear wheel traction was a must to avoid AI cars powesliding off the track. I also fixed the steering rod ratio so that the race at Monaco is now safe and possible. Actually the 1998 Monaco was the only one that could be used. It races great. I'm not a good car modder so if you find a way to improve them more, please send me the fixes.

Now because of increased rear traction I had to make the cars slower by increasing CD gain to 1.1. That makes the cars a bit too fast on tracks Melbourne and Interlagos where the traction plays bigger role. On the other hand they're very accurate or even a tad too slow on Monza, Suzuka and Indy. Melbourne and Interlagos times are off 2 seconds (too fast) and Indy times are about 1-2 seconds too slow. But hey... at least the races are safe and challenging now.

I really dislike these pay mods but I wanted a 2003 season to play. To be fair these drive quite well as the physics have been taken from Virtua Simulazione 1998 cars (at least a lot of the car data is identical).

I made all correct sponsors for 2003 circuits. That was the biggest job. People actually play these with modern track sponsors which to me looks 100% FAKE and stupid. TV graphics was relatively easy as I already did 1998, 2002 etc. I used those as a base. At least it looks decent. Enjoy.

PS: SimDream filled a DMCA takedown? They have a copyright to F1? Wow. I think I'm going to copyright the air I'm breathing.

PS2: I might have the RaceProject mod link if someone wants to ask.

I'm in the process of de-RaceProjecting whatever the hell they did lol

And guess what ? They look absolutely the same when you race lmao. Plastering 4 and 8k on a 2006 mod won't suddenly make it look better than a newish one.

And also using Kunos physics ? Tsss tsss.

(also, duplicate car for obvs reasons)

that's a great tool to analyze the model, where can we get it? Thanks.
Its in CM. Need to be in Dev Mode (click on the build version on the About page) then go to Settings, Content Manager, Dev then tick the box "while analyzing, check some extra cars' details". When you have done that, go to a car and at the bottom where the showroom, preview and setups buttons are there should be a button called Analyze

Big job to repack all 8k textures, so You liked the mod?
I did help with this mod. And i tried to convince the author not to use 8k textures.
Most of my help was with physics, so i can assure that it is not kunos physics. Just some cars uses suspension geometry from kunos Ferrari as it is really good f1 geometry.

Is it this? In that case, I just used Cyril's original skin as a base. It might have some transparency that I don't quite understand, so I just stripped away the alpha layer altogether.

kn5join.exe was changed a bit to better keep parented objects, seems like that's broken now...
Will fix!

EDIT: for now you could just use kn5Join\kn5join.exe (complete folder) from previous version...

seems like that error is in previous versions too :(
I found a workaround solution. I made a separate KN5 file for the grandstands and another one for the other objects.
I still had to extract the KN5 and regenerate it with KsEditor.
Now at least I can see the crowd.

I have another question. Do the CM "Update map" work correctly?
I've got only transparent png files, even if the fast_lane.ai exists.

did you make most of the pattern up? or use the original? if you used the original pattern i would love to know how to extract it because i cannot at all

unfortunately i'm not sure what "alpha layer" means

That would be great Sam i would like to get this car as accurate as i can purely due to you being here i may aswell if i am able to

Thanks for the explanation i was looking at the car when i was skinning it thinking "how the hell did that happen" and now i know

do you still do motor racing now? or are you still in and around the track at all?

Final update to the red ovlov https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/down...00-volvo-850-saloon-cyril-cherry.7239/updates
Have sent you a link to a PSD via DM, and thank you for your generous work.

I sold my final race car in 2016, and picked up a sim rig a few years later - sim only now, and I enjoy the variety of cars and tracks and mixing up both realistic combinations, and the many high-end fictional tracks and finding a good car/category to combine with them.

I've dabbled a little in reproducing the skins of some of my real-world cars, but miraculously hadn't done this one - some examples below in chronological order (happy to share the actual skins if anyone is interested).

Yeah they have a copyright to a rfactor mod they have converted without authorization and monetized it.

Sim dream always have been doofus when it came to using dmca, which is what made them go through their demise in 2021 when they DMCA striked youtube video of a popular simracer youtuber that called them out of their practice.

Only them are allowed to monetize patreons mod. no one else

Oh my bad ! Yeah, physics-wise they're good, pretty good even ! Better than whatever ACFL's.

I wish I knew this before I started doing the improvements. I wouldn't want to promote any SD stuff but hey it's the only 2003 available and after the tweaks it's not all that bad (as the cars are basically VS cars).

I have managed to collect absolutely GREAT package of the 2004 season, by using only 100% FREE 100% Kunos F2004. All skins, full 20 car grid. Helmets, gloves, suits, everything for every driver. Made some of my own additions and it will be amazing.

Ironically when the season is based on only one base car (and driver skins) you will get ultra realistic results. My 2002, 1998 and 1990 seasons are great examples. Also VRC 2005 and 2007... I absolutely love them... so competitive and actually they mimic the real F1 seasons (results wise) so well. Of course you're missing the individual sounds and all that. But you can only play one car.

I love how your 2008 cars drive and I have to play that season through next. And although they're different cars I've managed to create very realistic results. Many of these multi-car packs are tough to get perform well. I tried a 1989 car package and Senna and Prost were slower than Minardis in the qualifying (with driver skills at 100). Same issue with RSS 1986. Lotus98T skin based 1986 season is so accurate. Eyecandy for me is useless if the peformance doesn't mimic the real car performance differences in the seasons. It's very easy to adjust all that with skin only based F1 seasons.

But no more Patreon based seasons for me.

Get stuck into ASR f1 mods, they are the best cars in AC of f1 cars 1980s - mid 1990s. ACFL has improved a bit lately, but still far behind ASR, which are as good as RSS and VRC.

Thanks for the DM Mr Mumbo i would like the skins if your up for uploading them, also where did you get that car in the first picture from?

cheers Sam

Tried (with 590.26 driver) and....nope no double FPS. However, performance is very good (better than all after 566.36 actually). 566.36 remains as my back should 590.26 disappoint as some stage (Latter installed few minutes back).
DLSS will not work in AC as a member here did explain, maybe only if a real .dll genius can dive deep in this. Did hope Ilya and his team, could implement DLSS and XeSS ( and DX12ultimate) , but it appears he is more into the smaller things.
Maybe I’m reading this wrong but then you should have first DLSS in AC?

Im trying to find a website I once used that has a massive list of AC championships to download. I thought I had it bookmarked but can't seem to find it anywhere.
Anyone know what I am talking about?
Has everything from F1, BTCC, DTM, Ginetta, Carrera Cup, etc

I think you mean the french guy which is or was also member here.
Unfortunately I’ve also forgotten his nickname but maybe someone do remember.

Glad You liked it. As per 8k textures if You having performance slowdowns because of full vram usage, than I found a solution. There is some options in cm that loads shared texture only one time. And in 2006 there's many similar textures, so that option greatly reduces vram usage and there is decent fps even with 8k textures. If You interested let me know ill try to remember whats the name of that options.
