Aston Martin DB9-R?

I believe it's called the DBR9, and they missed it out, like they did with the Corvette C6R.

And you can't RM a regular DB9.

But you could tune up a DB9 up enough to make it near enough the same spec as one. Thats what I did with the F430.

It's nowhere near GT1 specifications, even when fully modded. Too heavy, and it still has it's road going interior trim. Also, it has limited bodywork specs.

However it's a nice attempt at emulating the DBR9. I did the same for a lot of cars and even stablished a set of rules and categories for GT race car replicas in GT5, if you browse my thread creation list you'll find it 👍.

Back on topic, yeah, there's no premium Aston Martin in GT5 beyond the DB9. Don't ask me why, but those idiots at PD prefer modelling three premium Miatas, a Nissan Micra, and some Daihatsus instead of some proper pieces of joy and engineering.

Welcome to the gang

and they screwed the pooch on a lot of cars not getting them in the game, I would have waited another year to have everything I would have waited another year plus to have it all....

hope this makes sense

Au contraire, I'd say. They made it just for the personal taste and expectations of the select few people that think a 60HP Suzuki shoe-box is more exciting than a Koenigsegg, or an LMP car, or a big lot of other cars 👎.

They should make it to cater a wide variety of tastes, which means a little of everything, and just not a big huge slice of all-Japan cars that only truly JDM-obsessed guys can fathom one version from another. Throw in a bit of everything for everyone. Both new and old. Both stock and racey.

Seriously, I think I can do a much better car list with the licenses PD currently has. And having a much better and wider car list results also in a wider and deeper A-Spec/Career mode, with more types and categories of races. Sadly, PD doesn't listen to this :guilty:.

One or two miatas/roadsters models would have been nice instead we get 10000 years worth of the same car, sorry rant

Thanks for the welcome guys. Been playin GT since PS1 and the goal for me personally was getting to the Le Manns series cars. Also, GT used to be year current with the different models actually a year ahead of what was currently out on the road. Now instead there are so many useless old classics and I don't mean the muscle cars. I'm sorry but I have no use for a '62 Fiat in a "racing" game. Call me Ricky Bobby, I wanna go fast! Just my opinion tho.

That's the one. Also the green one. And I'm not complaining that the game wasn't tailored for my own personal tastes. More so that the game has always had the most popular Le Manns cars from all classes as the years progressed but GT5 has definitely left out a few I thought would've been no brainers. Thanks for my '69 Nissan.. not. Lol

You can't remove enough weight from the car, if i remember, with all 3 stages, it still weighs over 1300

Whats the point of having premium Miatas and Daihatsu in the game? Instead of making these ******** premium, they should add more premium supercar. And i can't believe a Diahatsu Midget beat a Veyron in becoming a premium.

Increase its power? So that it will have the same power to weight ratio to a DBR9. I can understand that it will not corner as well compared to the DBR9 due to its weight. But at least you should have decent acceleration in straight that can be compare to DBR9.

There is no Premium Midget.

It sounds to me that you're upset over how GT5 lacks the cars you deem important, which is merely your personal taste. I, along with some others here, love all those classic cars and random Japanese 'crap' cars. And I honestly hope for more of these ordinary cars to be premium rather than to have more premium race cars.

Don't get me wrong here though, there's nothing wrong with being upset that your favorite cars are in the game, its only natural.

It is kind of sad that it's not even a race mod, why did they offer race mod and then only make 17 cars race modifiable? There's roughly 850 cars in the game that aren't "Race car" "Prototype" "Rally Car" "Touring Car" or "Concept" and only 2% of those are race modifiable. Meh.. for the record the DBS isn't in it either, and while you can modify a DB9 Coupe '06 to have the exact same specs, it doesn't look like a DBS :( only in my imagination.

What sums up PD is that they choose to model super gt before DTM, GT1 or GT3 as they had plans to put these in. Now I understand that super gt is in there country but seriously it concerns one country, now GT3 and GT1 are the whole of europe and even americans like watching it and DTM is full of ex F1 drivers.

This thread sums up my incomprehension of some of the directions GT5 took. I really wish Kaz would go down the Sports car route, LMS, ALMS, DTM, GT racing etc, I mean the latter links PERFECTLY with the name of the game! Instead of this we get (as mentioned) TWO Suzuki Swifts.....TWO Suzuki cappuccinos (three including the RM)...I mean COME ON!! Suzuki make excellent motorbikes but are not one of the best car manufacturers. Ask most petrol heads to name their top 20 car marques and I'd bet a large sum of money that Suzuki would not get a mention!

The mistake PD made was making japanese cars and interesting cars premium whereas what they should have done is make current/popular cars and legends premium.

If you look at the number of japanese cars compared to any other nationality of car they outnumber them 100x over, fair enough PD are from Japan so they would favour their own manufacturers but its slightly ridiculous. Games like Shift are not as good as GT imo but they feature some better cars. Gamers want to drive classics and the rest but they also what the LATEST cars.

to be honest, max tuning the DB9 will get you a DBRS9-the GT3 version, but still, i would love to see a Gulf coloured DBR9 in the game

Nope, i think it just goes over 600 bhp...
