At What point will you concede?

KY letting the cat out of the bag this week and the 30th November date being widely reported makes me believe Sony will get their **** together this weekend and make an announcement early next week.

Too much misinformation is out there to let this drag on any longer especially as people are well into Christmas planning.

I think it's mostly a matter of just because we have the time, doesn't mean the amount of time it takes to read a post should be longer because other people are too lazy to type properly. I type the same way no matter if it's for a paper for school or on a forum, just because it comes naturally. Text speak doesn't. The only exception is the chat room, where I tend to not capitalize.

Like people have said countless times though, if people have a problem that the board asks you meet certain grammatical standards, then don't join. Simple as that. I've seen the official PlayStation forums though, and I'm glad Jordan saw fit to include it in the AUP.

I agree with your post but the problem is when it is corected for everyone to see, its wastes more time going through all of the posts of people arguing than it does to just read through the one that was cited in the first place. I come into a thread seeing that a whole new page was added just to see that it was all just a bunch of bickering. :indiff:

So it's been nearly a week since Sony said they would update us.
Groan.

Agreed, bickering about it clogs the site down (ironically by posting this, I'm doing that ;)), but that usually happens because after the person (let's say, as an example, Neal) politely reminds the poster about the AUP and the importance of proper spelling and grammar, that poster, or another coming in to white-knight, complains about how "it shouldn't be a big deal", instead of just correcting and following the AUP. Then it devolves into a Jerry Springer episode. It could all be avoided if people just chose to follow the rules from the get-go.

On-topic: Spag-man, it looks like the Madrid release party may be back on for the end of the month. Some people are taking that as a sign... I'm still on the fence.

Cheers Slippy, my ticket on the hype train is in my back pocket at the moment.
Sony could atleast have confirmed Jalopniks report that would have been seen as positive.
They haven't actually denied it either, which is good.

Psychological warfare lol.

Ditto!👍

May the Force be with you,us,in that one...;)

So let me get this straight, IVORBIGUN, I'm in a thread called "At what point will you concede?", meaning when is the latest "you" think we can wait without a release date before realizing it won't be out this year. You obviously completely misunderstand the reasoning for this thread and are a lot more upset about it the delay you care to "concede." Don't attack people for voicing their opinions, especially when all I did was answer the threads question which is more relevant to this topic than you were. Also as of now the whole its being pressed thing is pure speculation so let's use some common sense here.
If thats the case then what else could Kaz had been suggesting with his hands?

As for your other comments and to be honest I would of thought this thread was now finished. We have heard from Kaz that GT5 has gone gold and is now being produced hence the action with his hands. Sorry if my remark was harsh but I thought your post was silly. Like I said why would Sony intentionally miss out on the busiest shopping period in the year by keeping the GT5 copies in a warehouse.

Prior to Kaz comments I feared the worst. I thought GT5 was delayed because of some major development problem. Thankfully that isn't the case and now all we have to wait for is when Sony decide to release GT5. Now some might ask why the delay? but maybe when kaz made his comments GT5 had only just gone Gold. Maybe Sony are waiting to see how production is going before giving a definate date.

Like I said im 99.9% sure GT5 will be released this year. I feel it could be either late Nov, early Dec. Im also 99.9% sure it won't be 2011 because this would be utter madness by Sony. This game is Sonys little gem and will be relying on this to sell PS3 consoles+3DTVs.

Seems the 30/11/10 is being bandied about more and more, not that I am about to hold my breath!
Just can't help myself getting exited all over again.:)👍

I think if where still waiting around for a release date by the middle of November, then that probably the past point of no return for making Christmas. At that point, at least for me I'm thinking a 2011 release. Question what's the shortest time between the date a games release date is announced & the date it's released?. I think typically there's at least a month on the short end.

Apology accepted. See folks that's how you do it. I do get your point of view as well, but you never know what sony is gonna do, they would be stupid to miss the holidays but you have to look at who we are dealing with here. I'm just tired of getting my hopes up when we have no official word on anything yet. The disc pressing may be true, but we ont know how long that takes, when they started, how long it takes to ship and distribute to stores. Guess I'm a glass half empty kinda guy, or the glass is too big.

Sure they would be stupid to miss the holidays, but they have done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot over this, I fully expect them to reach for a bigger gun and do it all over again

Probably looking at around 3-4 weeks for production although like you say we have no idea when this begun.

I do agree Sony have made some big mistakes. If I was in charge I wouldn't of bothered with GT PSP until GT5 was finished. I also think Sony have missed a great opportunity for increasing the sales of playstation plus. I would of produced a demo for playstation plus members only. This would of been like selling GT5 twice for Sony. Just imagine how many people would of purchased playstation plus just to play a GT5 demo.

...it's slightly amazing that people complain about the cash grabs other companies pull, but then others present an idea like this?

I know I definitely wouldn't pay for PSN+ just because of one demo. That reeks of a shameless cash grab. We already paid for one demo, anyways, I just want the full game.

Agreed. I would have to be a complete idiot to get PSN+ for a demo. Others may be able to justify it in their minds, but it's already a big scam (PSN+); and for me to sign on to the scam for a demo... no thanks.

People will only get dissapointed if they have expectations..I guess its about time to lower mine."sigh":indiff:

When will i concede, NEVER! Or maybe when i'm dead and buried, but will still have to think about it.:grumpy:

Well considering Sony haven't done this then I don't know what your moaning about. Im just saying what I would of done. The video game industry is just as competitive as any other industry and making the most of your product is what its all about.

I do laugh though because I can guarantee that those who are saying "I wouldn't of purchased PSN+ for a GT5 demo" would of done.

Oh, agreed... but look at how many people balk at the idea of how T10 has dealt with DLC and the new Ultimate Collection. It's odd how a degree of bias can change an outlook on a sound business practice (because, in theory, I agree it's best to get all the money you can out of a product, I just wouldn't buy into it as a customer in this situation).

You can guarantee this? Colour me impressed. I already paid for one GT demo, I sure wouldn't pay for what I see as a useless service (for me) just to play another, most likely smaller demo for a few months before release.
