Wrong.

The Limited run W427 used the LS7 rated at 375kW?

The current HSV range used the 6.2L LS3 rated at either 317 clubby or 325kW senator/GTS.

My 2006 Senator uses a 6.0L LS2 rated at 307kw.

Jan 1 2006 the LS2 was introduced to the HSV range in the Z series (due to Euro4 emissions),

Before that both holden and hsv used LS1 motor (except for some of the 300kW GTS's etc which used the C4B motor).

So jan 1 HSV started using the LS2 and holden moved the the L76 (which was a L98 with the DOD removed (displacement on demand (cylinder deactivation)).

Then the E series was released later that year, HSV kept the LS2 and Holden moved to the L98 (6.0L).

HSV introduced the LS3 (6.2L) with the E2 in 2009.
I said most HSV's run the LS3, In 2010 Holden introduced the L77 (6.0L) with there VE series II update. (HSV introduced the E3 range but kept the LS3 motor).

This completes your LS1+ HSV/Holden Lesson!

How the hell am i wrong? Did you not read my post at all?
Obviously i am referring to the current HSV's, as HSV's have been around for more than 40 years so the majority won't run LS3's. The current HSV's do run LS3's and the W427 runs a LS7.

Get your eyes checked out mate.

The silly thing is, A few of you are comparing an Evo, With the Top of the range, 80+ thousand dollar Holden SPECIAL vehicles..
That cant be fair? right?

All i said is my car beats most 6.0l V8's in other words.. the SS commodore, i never claimed to beat 317kw R8 HSV's You fanboys just jumped in and said they would stomp me, Which they would.. Lets see them Take a corner though ;)

But lets see a 317 R8, go up against.. hmm lets say, the FQ400 EVO X? You know.. that's the top of the range Evo, 400 horsepower in a little 4banger from factory?

Lets see you take a corner with a bigger smile on your face then me in a v8 taking the same corner.. it cant be done...... anyway, cool man, lets get over this whole evo thing... tbh comparing the 2 makes me sick to the core

After driving in some Australian tracks in ToCA 3, I can only say three words...

...must-have-BATHURST.

How about this for a prototype that should be in GT6?

Reminds me of the Dome Zero concept mixed with a C3 Corvette Stingray but better looking than both.

Greetings from Perth, West Oz.
Id love to see some early 70s aussie muscle, xy/xa-b falcons and monaros. Peter Brocks marlboro commodore racing car would be sweet too 👍

Greets from Sydney. Definately need Bathurst, over skyline and then down conrod strait, sweet :)

Should allow the Winfield livery for the R32, some texaco sierra's so we can disqualify them and of course moffat and his rotors.

Need some proper cars too. Not just Falcons and Commies, bring out the old legends. And add Adelaide, Sydney, Symmons and Bathurst too!

HiHi All,
Sydney sider here.
I'm lucky enough to have all 3 Aussie cars in GT5 and the Ford is a beast.
It sounds like a V8, it has the pull of a V8 and the thing is so easy to handle (I was able to stay with a Mclaren F1 full modded with ease and pulled out a better time), It's by far my fav race car in the game (maybe because I drive a XR6?).
IF you want one PM, I dont mind sharing the love but there is quite a waiting list.

I totally Agree with having aussie DLC. Heck if they released a DLC that had the top 4 V8 Super Cars, some FPV's and Bathurst, I would pay $40 for the thing!

As for getting Kaz out here, I think we might have to push Sony Australia into getting him here. If Sony Australia were smart and marketed this correctly almost all Aussie GT5 players and future GT5 players (maybe Xbox fan boi's?) would be buying it. That means more GT5 Sales, more ps3 sales and more Wheel sales and Sony could make quite a lot.

I've been looking forever for the Ford to pop up in the UCD...I just want it to so I can buy it.

The only Australian car I've seen is the Monaro so far...I have two now, one to tune, the other to keep stock.

I waited ages for it, got it...didn't see it again for a couple of weeks (real time lol), then all of a sudden, It's popping up in every second updated UCD.

If someone told Kaz Bathurst had a corner called skyline it would be in the game next week.
I would love to see an fg xr6 turbo ute in this game, partly because the truck series is a bit of a joke and partly because I own one. (in white with the roll bar if you're listening pd)

A little bit off topic, but I would just like to wish everyone up in QLD and surrounding areas the best of luck with the flooding happening at the moment. We are all hoping the rain subsides and everyone can get back to normal.

Good luck from the rest of us Aussies!

Haha, that was a bloody good post. And yes, thoughts go out to those in Queensland.

Good to see this thread is still alive

In the past 2 days I've spent 5-6 hours all up looking for the Ford, is there anyone willing to send me one tonight for a car of mine. Like maybe an X2010 or a Ferrari F2007/F10 or even a Mazda 787B. I have way more cars than that so just PM me

Australian cars don't belong in GT, It brings shame upon the series. IMHO.

i'm guessing by your name you are a supra fan, thats fair enough they are a great car but i would put my ve ssv ute up against one any day track or strip
:sly: or any other aussie muscle car/ute even a ford

In your opinion sure, however if Australian cars bring shame, then what about all the pick up trucks, hybrids, Corsa comfort 1.4, Lupo 1.4 not to mention the numerous Japanese cars that non-Japanese players couldn't care less about. Its a Japanese game after all with B spec reminding me of an RPG.

If the above mentioned cars get a chance in GT then (lisencing issues aside) why would you deny 'Performance derivatives' of the most common cars in Australia?

I do think that the XR8 race car is lonely in the game without its arch nemesis the Commodore race car.

Another Aussie here, but currently based in EU.

Would love to see some more Aussie tracks (Bathurst, Adelaide, Albert Park, Philip Island, Eastern Creek, Gold Coast Indy) & cars (current and old Falcons, Commodores, Toranas, V8 Utes, GTHO).. any or all would be sweet, and I'd be happy to pay for them, but reckon chances are slim at best.

By all means, add me as a friend, but lag might be an issue.

Cheers,
Dog

That "Skyline on Bathurst will convince Kaz" is a legend comment.

I was sorely disappointed when (before release) I read that not only would GT5 have no new Aussie content, but they were dropping the FPV's. I thought for sure they'd have bathurst this time, but no, they even dropped my favorite track, El Capitan.

My favorite memories of GT4 was putting a stock F6 Typhoon up against the best tuned cars available in Motegi 8Hr, despite having to pit twice as often. It was a close race and I re-did it a couple of times with different opponents because of the close racing fun.

But I did question the cars in-game properties. I was quicker in the GT, even though it's well known (in the motoring community here) that the F6 is the faster Falcon due to it's lighter weight and plateau-like torque curve (before GT335 obviously).

In fact, I also ran the 5.7 GTO Coupe vs. SS vs. Monaro on the 8Hour and I got the quickest time with the GTO by a couple of seconds despite the three having near-identical stats.

I also put my stock AU XR8 Supercar in the Suzuka 1000 but won by 10 laps. I'll have to try against the DTM Touring Cars to see if that's a challenge. But that's a bit off topic...

I can only reiterate what others have said. At the minimum, please give us Bathurst. The old muscle cars (Falcon GTHOIII, Torana XU-1, Charger) would be sweet. I'm not hoping for much though.

As a big, unrealistic wish list, I'd love to see every Aussie car and track that's been mentioned in this thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you first stated most HSV's sport the 7.0L (yes, we realise you mistakenly said ZR-1 instead of Z06 C6). Only the W427 (approx. 200 of them) had the dry-sumped N/A 7.0L.

And also, didn't HSV celebrate their 20th anniversary only a couple of years ago?

Wrong.

kayman is spot on. I don't know where you get your facts from (magazine, Simon McNamara, whatever) but they are way off reality.

My comment did help. It showed people what 3 and a half bottles of milk looks like.

That cracked me up. 👍

Hey Boys,

Great thread I agree would be much better with more Aussie content. I am from Hobart, Tassie and we have the best tarmac rally in the world with some of the best roads. And you can use all sorts of cars in this event not just Fords and Holdens. Would of been great to see some of this content in GT5.

I watched most of the last Targa Tasmania. Except for all the roadside dangers (mostly tres, gullys, etc ) that looks like the most fun you can have outside a bedroom.

Hey fellas,

Been floating around these forums for a couple of months now, and finally got aroud to becoming a member with my GTP PSN ID and all. Saw this thread and had to jump in.

Now, I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of Aussie cars in the game. I would love to see the current roster of Fords and Holdens but some of the older ones too would be nice.
The addition of Baturst and Adelaide Street Circuit (My home town and would love to race around the track I visit every year) is a must in either upcoming DLC or in GT6.
