I watched most of the last Targa Tasmania. Except for all the roadside dangers (mostly tres, gullys, etc :sick:) that looks like the most fun you can have outside a bedroom.

There was a great stage up on the domain in Hobart but they took it out as there was a bad crash. I think someone may of died either in a car or a spectator. It would of been a great stage for GT5. Too dangerous in real life though.

I must say, I was really pissed when I found out that FPV had removed themself from the franchise, and that there weren't any new Ford (AU) or Holden cars! At least put in the Vauxhaul VXR8! More people might know what that is as apposed the the HSV version :p

Although this is about GT5, I noticed that NeedforSpeed Shift2 will have Bathurst in it - and possibly V8 Supercars! Check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLj_uhFFQ-M

From 0:18 seconds onwards, it's an R35 GTR going down "The Mountain". The R35 is from the European GT3 championship (or maybe it's GT2 championship, not sure).

Looks like Shift 2 sales might be higher than expected in AUS compared to GT5...
 
It would be good if there was a V8 supercar special event similar to NASCAR and someone like Mark Winterbottom can be the host =]

Pity the physics and track models suck. From the esses to Forrest's elbow is about twice as wide as it should be and not nearly steep enough.

I do like the look of the game as an arcade racer though and GT1 cars is a welcome addition.

Now if only we had Bathurst in GT5...
 
Have to say.. was pretty damn chuffed when I saw the SS in the UCD last night. I had to pinch myself. I think I'm over 900 game days.. its taken THAT long to show up.
 
I'm not Australian but i do like the V8 supercars series. I was surprised at the lack of Australian cars, and i was really surprised that with the amount of Nascars in the game they didn't put any V8 supercars or even ASCAR in.
 
I still haven't seen it. I've seen the monaro at least 3 times, but to be honest I probably wouldn't buy the SS if it popped up. It's mechanically the same as the Monaro but doesn't look half as good. Plus I think the monaro is modelled a bit better

Was gutted when no bathurst was available......

Definately need more supercars, and some of the old classics like A9X and phase 3 - 4 GTHO,s.

Gotta admit as much as I hate Falcomodores/Wogamadores I wouldnt have minded seeing an XR6-T/XR8, VE HSV range. Would have been nice to run them into the chicane wall halfway down mulssane straight.

Like many here, I do hope PD pay bit more attention on Australian motoring, whether it be tracks or cars.
Kind of sad looking at how they managed to premium model a VW '40s car but not a V8 supercar =\
 
Shift 2 looks like it will be a great game. I recently bought Shift so i could get used to the handling before Shift 2 comes out.

I would love to have Bathurst in GT5 though, but I'm pretty disapointed with the sound in the game. The sounds in Shift are much much better.
 
I loved the sounds in shift, but as much as I tried to like the game (And that dreadful Ferrari Challenge), I just couldnt do it... I hope Shift2 is better, but honestly cannot see myself buying it

Bathurst is licensed to codemasters until the end of this year, that's why we couldn't get it in iRacing either.
Would love to see the Gold Coast street circuit and Winton (15 mins away!) too!

If that is indeed true,then there is really nothing to stop PD from making their own version of bathurst and calling it a different name just like they did with the Monaco GP track to get it into GT4/5. ;)

I think they would need the licence in order to model it faithfully though. Cote d'azur isn't the best rendition of the Monaco GP circuit.

Without proper GPS data Bathurst would be a pretty difficult track to get right

If you want to get used to the handling you could always just play Mario Kart, its cheaper :)
 
Yeah you guys get the sharp end of the stick a lot of times down under. Its like PD completely forgot there's a big ol' country down there.

The two most boring looking Holdens on earth and you can't change them to look any different. I would have said Walkinshaw and Clubsport. I would have thought they would at least put the Holden race car in to match the Ford.
Just hope they release a "Bathurst" DLC.

If you are talking about the new one I'm going to have to agree to disagree. The new Monaro wouldn't even be in my top 10. But that's just my opinion.
