Woo just bought the Monaro! Black, so far only sports exhaust but it sounds awesome! Definite improvement over GT4. And it looks pretty good for a standard model, a little rough around the edges but much better than some others

I would like to see an Ozzy pack released with FPV, HSV, CSV, HDT, XY, XW GT HO etc.
Hopefully they release downloadable premium packs the you pay $15-$20 for...............

What would he be doing in GT5?

Got to say the amount of Aussie support is encouraging. If we keep it up hopefully PD will hear us.

When I was at the Sydney Motor Show I spoke to a magazine editor who met kazunori at TGS. Anyway he asked him if Bathurst was going to be included but he said that while he was aware of it, it wasn't well known enough in Japan and around the world. Apparently he did say that he would like to attend the race some day though which is good news because it would only take one visit to convince him how awesome the track is 👍

The only thing that worries me regarding the timeline and likeliness of DLC tracks is that we were led to believe that Hockenheim, Spa and a few others would be included but they're not. Not only that, but we haven't even heard anything about them being offered as DLC so we could be in for a wait. Maybe even GT6... Let's hope not

Is that your final answer? Sure you wanna lock that in??

Keep living in denial mate, how are those blue singlets & Bundaberg rums treating you?

You epitomise the problem with the Australian car market, uneducated consumers buying overpriced heaps of junk (read; Aussie cars) because they are brain washed into thinking they have quality….

lol @ ANCAP.....

Chill out mate. Probably not the best thread to turn up to and start ragging on Australian cars. I'm not about to argue that they are better quality than French or any other cars, but they're hardly overpriced.

Queenslander here. PSN: SC7HO

I'd happily pay for

Mt Panorama
Phillip Island
E49 Charger
E55 Charger
A9X Torana
GTR XU1 Torana
GTHO Phase III Falcon
GT Falcon Hardtop
Bill Bourke's 428 GT XW Falcon

TBH I would probably pay for every classic Aussie touring car that was available, the only issue I would have then is not being able to perform real world modifications like engine swaps in a AP6 Valiant. I'd love a valiant in the game even if it is a US model.

The problem I see with Aussie content being included is in a game that claimed to be a history of motoring is it doesn't include many of the most historic US muscle cars, why would they include Aussie muscle if they don't care about the more significant US history?

For those that don't know iRacing has Phillip Island and is getting Oran park and one of the most loved cars in iRacing is the Ford V8 supercar. RFactor has almost every Australian racetrack that has ever existed, it also has V8 Supercars, the Porsche Carrera Cup cars as well as the GTHO Phase III Falcon, GTR XU1 Torana and E49 Charger.

To the guys fighting about reliability/quality and what not. Take it to a private message, your fighting could end up flaming and get the whole thread locked, none of us want that.

Aussie cars are cheap. In both price and quality. You get what you pay for. Of course an Aussie car isn't as reliable of as well built as - say - a German car, but I can guarantee you an Aussie car is cheaper.

...and besides, none of us are arguing about the cars themselves, rather the fact that the history in cars/motorsport that Australia has had, only to not get any recognition in the game.

Because arguing over the internet is pointless, I won't.

You are still wrong, however.

Enjoy your Bundys in dream land mate...

and as for arguing? what argument? you would have to come up with a rebuttal or atleast some knowledge to formulate an argument :)

True, i would love to see some of the old group C cars running around Bathurst on GT5.... ahh the memories!

I hope no one minds, I feel like adding great Aussie vids and pics to the thread as I find them for anyone like me who loves this kind of thing and to help those who don't understand why us Aussies are so passionate about Aussie content.

Here is some Bathurst content to start off, the first is the Australian Touring Car Masters

This one is a SS Torana doing a lap around the mountain.

Love watching those old videos.

Let's face it though they're not going to include classic Aussie stuff because, as some people have mentioned, there are older and arguably more significant racing cultures around the world that should be included first.

I agree 110% that they should include Bathurst but if they do, it is likely (if anything) that they would only include current V8 Supercars because a) they are recognisable around the world, and b) it would mean less development because they would essentially only need to model 2 cars.

I would love it if they threw in a couple of road cars too, but I think Bathurst is the top of everybody's wishlist

Bathurst is licensed to codemasters until the end of this year, that's why we couldn't get it in iRacing either.
Would love to see the Gold Coast street circuit and Winton (15 mins away!) too!

hey guys.. i just got a ss commodore and the description on it is funny as

apparently "this car set a new touring record for completing 15k's in just 6 and a half days"

seriously... we get 3 cars and 1 of them is portrayed as a car that takes 6 and a half days to do 15k's!!!!? did the ford boys write this description or what?!

I now have a Monaro and a VY SS. I'm more of a Ford dude so if anyone is keen for swaps let me know. :)

Only one if they do the car of the future. Then if any new manufacturers come in they will only need to change the panel work and possible put in a slightly different torque curve. Lets face it V8 Supercars is Aussie Nascar, it's better because we don't race ovals but the Holden vs Ford thing is pretty much a joke now and will die out in the not to distant future.

And Ford are partners with iRacing so perhaps they will not allow their cars in GT5.

Here's a thought, instead of people hassling Kaz, email Ford and ask "Why can't I drive a new Falcon in GT5, Why should I consider buying a new Falcon if it isn't good enough for the ultimate driving simulation? You guys need to contact PD and help them model the XR6 and FPV range or are they really that bad?".

Yeah I know it's juvenile but it probably has more chance of getting a response.

That's a really good idea. I might email Holden too. Their new HSV is 317KW (drool lol)

ps.. holden fan here but I wouldn't mind new FPV either, they look mean as!

New FPV's are 335Kw...at least on the sticker. Un-officially around 370kw (rumored)👍

I want a Supercharged FG GT in GT5:guilty:

Aussie from Sydney here...
But..
I currently live in Japan..
It would have been nice to see the Bathurst track and 8hr race in the game with Aussie V8's to race..
*sigh*
