Hopefully now that GT cars are allowed in the 12 Hours, Kaz might even come down and experience the track.

They are? They finally let them back in? What? I never heard about this!

Got a link to a news article or something?

Count me in on the petition, never raced on-line though.

Here is an article about GT cars racing in the 12 hour next year.
http://www.bathurst12hour.com.au/australian-gt-at-2011-armor-all-bathurst-12-hour/

For the people that think Mt Panorama looks steep in videos, it's nothing like driving it.

Awesome! Reading around that site (and the AustGT site) ... I wanna go to Sandown. The race is on in a couple weeks :) ... How does it work? You just turn up and buy tickets at the gate?

As much as I think PD are doing really well with the GT series I do also feel that (providing licensing is not a problem) they should include at least Bathurst!;)👍
My reasons are simple;
1. It is a track with a fantastic history of Motorsport!
2. It is possibly the most highly regarded/ (deffinitely top 3) track in the southern hemisphere.
3. It has inspired top class Manufacturer's from not just Australia to name one of there Sports Cars after the track (Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Vauxhall etc).
4. It is host to the most highly anticipated greatest Motorsport race in Australia!
5. Also atracts other very popular Motorsport events (Bathurst 12 Hour!).
6. Mount Panarama is a truly fantastic race track that has all the elements of a trying, testing and fear-inspiring track (Australia's Nurburgring).:D
7. Do you really need a seventh reason?
Here's the latest and greatest lap of the Mountain by Craig Lowndes!
Listen to those revs over Skyline!:dopey:👍

R*

I got a 7th reason for you, it's essentially a street circuit on the side of a mountain.

mrdinosaw94 of SA here... i understand the reasoning behind the lack of aussie stuff (22 million ppl here compared to more than that in NY alone) bt australia has achievd some awesome feats with cars... the 265 hemi & F6 motor are two of 3 of the best 6 cylinders in the world (street machine magazine's oppinion) the other bieng the skyline engine... we also turned pickup trucks into luxury-performance beasts and innovated the in car race camera (bathurst in 60's) We also export some of these beasts to the world, giving less creative markets a better, cheaper vehicle with more power... and to top it off in GTPSP of all things it was stated that "Australia's V8 supercar racing is some of the most exciting in the world"... All i want are 3 important holden cars (68 GTS, Torana, Efijy) 3 Important fords (XY GTHO, BF F6 & an XF ute :) ) and two important chryslers (charger & pacer)... while PD are here give us a commy SS, ute & wagon, a new GTS & the latest FPV GT & F6, bathurst and a ford & holden V8 supercar thx

Nees Surfers Paradise in the game too.. that would be heaps fun online, specially with weather and the normal chicane disasters :D

Looking at the video of Bathurst I can see why it wasn't included...
Americans would find it too hard with turning right as well as left

But in all seriousness you all realise that Europe has more impact than America with GT sales.
We need to stop making the Americans seem like the bad guys (even though it's easy to do ) when in reality it's those Europeans making it harder for us to race around Bathurst in Ford's and Holden's that aren't re-branded for the UK and the USA.

It would be nice to see some non-Australians in here giving their opinion on Bathurst. :)

Do want!

I felt terribly sad when I saw that there were no FPV's in the car list. Mostly because I remember that one thread arised that wanted more australian cars, and when some news of GT5 regarding Australia came up, I thought it was certain you guys would get more cars. I completely understand how you feel. I too would be pissed if cars from my country were removed from one game to another. I would only want two cars, though:

you can pretty much bank on this being due to codemasters I reckon hell Bathurst in grid was a joke...

and I was quite pissy even if they were Ford's when importing from the psp version the only too bloody cars not too import were the BA F6 & GT...

always keen for more Aussie's on my FL feel free to add ;)

OH MY GOD! I AM SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

I was just swapping to my Commodore and was looking at both it and my Monaro in my Favourites list... Then I noticed something... The Commodore has 342HP/5500rpm and weighs 1658kg... The Monaro has 342HP/5500rpm and weighs 1658kg...

YEP. THEY'RE NOT EVEN UNIQUE. THEY HAVE THE EXACT SAME PHYSICS MODEL APPLIED TO EACHOTHER.

...Just a different body model. They're the same car on paper. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

Tassie boy here

Yeah, sucks that we dont have bathurst

You gotta realise Nascar = America = 307 million people

V8 supercars = Australia = 20 million people

He doesnt have much incentive to create a V8 supercars track/cars, because we're one of the smallest english speaking countries using this game.

The Melbourne F1 track would be nice though

But you don't think that people outside of Australia know about Bathurst? It's one of the world's greatest racing tracks, and everybody knows it.
That thing about the Commodore and the Monaro is woeful.

I posted some pictures of my Monaro HERE. I'm still waiting on finding a Falcon.

Well for those of us Aussie's needing a Bathurst fix, we won't have to wait much longer ... its been confirmed for NFS Shift 2. Now, if they could only get a handle on the car physics this time round it might be a half decent racer!

Back on topic, I can't believe, as others have mentioned, PD could not at least bring across the two FPV's from GT4. I mean seriously, how hard could it be!?! And I really don't like our chances of getting more aussie cars through DLC :grumpy:

What are the real stats?

Would make for some good close racing online at least

Another Aussie here!!

Bathurst is well known in NZ, Asia and also England.

Another track that should be included and may it RIP is Oran Park GP, that was just an awesome layout and world class! Pitty about it being re developed though.

Yeah we did get ripped off as far as cars go, surely the Aussie Muscle cars from the 60's-70's should have been put in, as well as some of the modern day muscle... a real pitty. And it is looking like I will be alternating between NFS Shift 2 and GT5 to get the best of both worlds

Curiously though.. i wonder what it costs to licence Nascar as apposed to V8 supercars for a game like this.
we also don't know what licence M$ has with v8 supercars.

Bathurst would be the highest thing i'd want out of aussie content, followed by some of the racing legends that raced on it.

yo dudes, from gold coast.

call it Sacrilege but for me Philip Is is the best track in Australia. Of course Bathurst is the greatest race, and extremely challenging, but for me PI is the better track.

And I'd take any aussie made car over a Kubelwagen.

This is not an Australian car.

Another Aussie here. Played GT since the very first iteration in 1998 and bought a PS1 especially for Gran Turismo. Have been a PlayStation buyer ever since because of the Gran Turismo series.

I am not so nationalistic and arrogant to stamp up and down and demand that Australian cars and tracks should make an appearance. However, in saying that, there are a few tracks and cars that could legitimately earn their place in GT5 amongst the world's best.

For a start, I believe only two tracks in Australia are good enough to make Gran Turismo: Bathurst and Phillip Island.

Bathurst - http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_E8CbkSE5l...0/QERtpKqKYag/s1600/AerialBathurstTrack_1.jpg

The first is an incredibly sinuous circuit that is arguably the third greatest racetrack in the world behind the Nordschleife and Spa (sorry Laguna Seca http://image.superstreetbike.com/f/miscellaneous/laguna-seca-2010/29922712/laguna-seca-2010.jpg
and Portrero de los Funes http://www.motorsportcircuitguide.com/circuit_image/127_Potrero de los Funes Aerial VIew.jpg).
It hosted a round of the World Touring Car Championship in 1987 (the only year the old Grouap A WTCC ran) and has held Australia's great race every year since the 1960's. International drivers are awestruck by it and it needs the painstaking attention to detail by PD to do it justice.

Phillip Island - http://www.bobbarnardtrackengineering.com/psd/tmp_psd/phillip_island_aerial.jpg
A fast race track with flowing corners, a wide circuit, great facilities and good racing. When you have on 'off' here, you are usually travelling at a fair speed. The fact it is right on the edge of Bass Strait gives the place a dramatic backdrop but also unpredictable weather.

Cars: 1971 XY Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/iii01.jpg
Arguably the greatest Australian muscle car ever made. Allegedly the fastest four door production car in the world when it was released (that's saying something considering the muscle cars in the United States). Only a few hundred made (as discerned from the garden variety GT), incredibly rare and valuable, a thumping big cubic capacity V8 and tyre frying performance. This would be a legendary addition to a Muscle Car Cup.

Holden LJ Torana GTR XU-1
http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/1973-lj-torana-xu1.jpg
Screaming 6 cylinder that competed against the big Falcon GTHOs at Bathurst due to its lighter weight, better handling and better braking. A giant killer.

Chrysler R/T Charger
http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/rt_charger_0013.jpg
An extremely fast 6 cylinder that never managed to win Bathurst in its day. It was nontheless a world class production performance car.

If I had to pick any Australian made performance cars that are representative of this country's proud performance past, these are it. All of them are iconic.

I also would have liked the Sierra RS500 and BMW M3 in it, versions of which could have been converted into Group A spec. Johnson's Shell Sierra would have been a good one to model (and no tobacco advertising on it), as well as the Richards/Skaife 1991 Bathurst GT-R (again, the Nissan colours and no tobacco sponsorship so it could be included in the game).

Lucas was posting cars from his country, Argentina, read his post again and it makes sense.

Anyhow the major thing I want besides Bathurst is some older classic race cars, and some new concepts (like the Holden Coupe 60 - although it's probably going to be too old of a concept to be in GT6 :().

Holden_coupe60_122.jpg

Do want.

xxl0.jpg

That is a Renault Torino (yes, a Renault muscle car) for all Aussies here, I am an Argie living in Oz and can atest to the awesomeness of that car!!.

Lucas: te olvidaste de la coupe fuego!

I want to take an HSV around the ring!! I will hope for DLC but will not hold my breath.

Aussie from Sydney here, i want a premium Holden SS!

And FPV's would have been awesome, its a bit confusing that they removed them after they were in GTPSP
