auto modellista

I can drive the cars, I won most of the races before putnig it down, I didn't play it for long, but the handling of the cars was crap, the graphics were good and different but the game was poor for many reasons all mentioned above.

I liked the tune part in it. The control was just thrown together a afternoon. Also the cars are unrealisticly fast. 700 bhp Impreza doing 0-300km/h in about 7 sec? :odd: I also like the old japanese cars in the game :embarrassed:

Yes , the cars did 0-100km/h in 3sec.And that was the only one problem that I didn't liked at all in the game.

You mean you liked the cars handling, you liked the short lifespan, you liked the fact that you stated with some of the fastest cars in the game, and you started with loads of tune options making the stock cars redundant from the off. The whole game stank imo, then again if you liked it thats cool, each to his own.

Yecch my brother bought this game and I tried it. Once you've played GT3 (or any GT for that matter) this game just sucks in comparison. I hate how *** it sounds when that voice shouts "Auto Modellista!" when you load the game. I played it for 1 minute and went back to GT3

looks like this game is in abit of love-hate relationship with everybody...in my opinion, its fun for wn mates come ova and have a bit of entertainment... its a cool game bsides, if capcom made a sequel, it would KILL the competition, exept gt3 and 4....

i dont know if anybody else thinks so, but the "slipperyness" of the courses suprised me. my friend actually played the game for the first time and made a comment-"why'd you put on the ice level?". i dont know about you guys, but that game-out of all the games ive played- was pretty damn slippery:lol:

Its kinda hard to drive its cars because its so different from GT3. I finished it in 4 hours. About 2 to learn how to drive and tracks and 2 to win the races

I'd like to bump this. I'm back and I'm ready to play this game online. Anyone want to get on? This is a great game.

I love this game, I guess I'm one of the few who actually enjoy this game, I went online a couple of times a few weeks ago but there was never anyone online.

You guys would be surprised how much different the PAL version is from the NTSC version.

The NTSC as you know it has really slippery controls.
PAL version, has the exact opposite. Like, you don't slide out, at all, sorta like an arcade version of GT4.

Thats what I heard too, they changed the physics to a more slippery tendency for the American versions for some dumb reason. I'm guessing they changed the physics for the NTSC version but left the AI with the PAL versions physics.

I always thought "drifting" in it wasn't as easy as some of you once said.

Yep, it's basically almost impossible to drift in the PAL version because of the awkward physics, not that there is anything wrong with it.

I personally liked the game, if it was longer and had more tracks it would have been alot better.

I agree, I just wished we got the PAL physics instead of the drift oriented physics. Are there any videos of the PAL version? I've never seen the Pal version in action.

I'll chuck up a recording on youtube later on tonight or something if you want.

My friend has it but he thinks it and GT4 is too hard. I hate him. He also doesnt like LA Rush, which I love.
But GT4 is hard. I mean, I wasnt bad in 1, 2, or 3 but suddenly in GT4 I could barely drive any cars, besides the 1 series, Mini, etc

Thread revival for the win...

I recently got this game, as I currently only have my PS2 so I've been looking at cheap racing games. I was intrigued by the game when it was originally released, but never got it because back then I couldn't just buy every £40 game that came about! £3 is much more reasonable...

Anyway, my initial impressions of the game were mixed. I'd heard the handling wasn't up to much, and that was confirmed by my first few drives. However, accepting that it's very definitely an arcade game, it's not too bad. The slower cars are unchallenging. Whole courses can be taken flat out - there's no challenge, like trying to extract every ounce of performance from a Kei car in Gran Turismo. Quicker cars though require very quick reactions, just like any good arcade game should - not so much emphasis on racing line or even braking, just quick reactions, great sense of speed and great graphics.

And I love the graphics. A PS3 version of this game would be epic. As it is, it's probably my favourite looking PS2 game. Sure, not realistic like GT, but the courses look beautiful (especially the city ones, and the rainy course) and the cars look brilliant too. Nice selection of cars too, and of course the tuning options are very good - you can really make them pretty individual. Here are a few of mine - apologies for poor quality, I still use a 14" CRT TV...

My MR2 Turbo - looking great in white with a Veilside kit and green accents:

The first car I bought in the career mode, a Daihatsu Copen. Named "Polly" by my girlfriend :D:

The second car I bought, an old Levin going by the name of Felicity. Love the look of this thing, the wide arches and old-school alloys look awesome:
