Do any of you people play auto modellista? It's a real good game. The graphics are cartoonish but it has the 86 civic in it. i like how you build the cars and do engine swaps. I like drifting.

I liked it too, then the novelty soon ran out. there's only so much modifying you can do to the same cars before it gets boring.

Good fun while it lasted though. my favourite part was collecting junk to put in your garage. i had a table with all my trophies on and everything :)

its one of those games you keep getting cravings for every now and then.....i keep all my data from the rentals on my card...im looking for a cheap used copy somewhere....

I always liked the look of that game, picking it up and looking at it at EB every time i go. The cell shading looks amazing on the box, but i never played it. I was going to get it but then i heard a lot of people on here say it has very crappy game play.

Just out of curiosity, are the engine sounds in the game any good? I know the graphics are nice but what about the sound? Do you hear Turbo and Blow off noises? Might not mean much to most people but hearing the spool of a turbine and the release of pressue from a blow-off valve drives me crazy, i love it. What's it like in Auto Modellista?

actually the sound effects in AM are amazing...each cars turbo sounds different, and some turbos sound higher pitched and some are lower...you hear the BOV's and you see and hear backfire....its damn sweet sound effects....i think its a fun game to own...once i own it

Auto Modellista was a horrible game.

You can point out PS2's weaknesses with this game: bland, 4 MB worth of textures and lack of hardware anti-aliasing. The cell shading just made this game even more of a bore. The sound was amateur at best. All of the engine sounds seemed to be exactly the same. The exhausts and blow-off valves are also unspectacular. The music seems erratic. I'm not sure what Capcom was thinking about the music. There's no style, no texture, no cohesiveness. Just a bunch of mash together sounds. I know that this is an arcade style game, but if I'm spinning out at 20 MPH in a Skyline that has a RPM redline of 10,000, I can't help to say that this is just plain wrong. This lack of tight control completely diminishes any respect for the game. If you guys call this 'drifting', then I have absolutely no interest in it. Finally, I fail to see the point of playing this game to the end if you can start out with a nearly tuned-out Skyline. Most of the parts can be had at the start of the game, with more enhanced versions unlocked as you play through the game. I don't know much about the online aspect of the game, though I'm sure there are plenty of 'drifters' out there smashing into walls.

Capcom seemed to have ran out of money, time, and interest in Auto Modellista, and it shows in the final product. Hopefully, Capcom can learn from this mistake and put the knowledge (if any) learned from this and put it into future games.

My friend at work had lent me the game for the weekend. He was slightly surprised that I was at work, first thing that Monday morning, giving him back his copy of Auto Modellista. He replied: "Heh, you didn't want either?"

F.Zamataki, there there don't cry.

Well it very much seems that you either love this game or you hate it. I really wanna hear the sounds in that game now, i know it's not as important as graphics and gameplay but i think GT3 is fairly average when it comes to audio. I might go to Block Buster and rent it, test it out. I feel guilty playing other racing games for some reason tho.. i feel that GT3 is too good and there isn't any point taking other car games seriouly!! Anways back to the topic.

Amen to that.

This game was highly anticipated before it came out, atleast for me anyways. When I finally got it, i was uber-disapointed.
Ive played both usa and Japanese\euro, and they still suck hard.

Online is also disapointing, people dont race, they wall ride...

Yep, I bought AM thinking it was going to be great, I stopped playing shortly after.

I consider my friend and myself in the 'tuning' culture. He dropped a B16B into his Civic hatch by himself. We both did not like Auto Modellista. So, saying the game appeals to tuners is dead wrong.

what are you talking about. That game is AWESOME

I'm talking about Auto Modellista.

I made a statement, backed it up with facts and personal experience. Don't like it? Then rebut.

It was a horrible game, the graphics were a novelty but nice anyway, the control of the cars was awful, they were ****e to drive and if thats not done right in a racing game, then the whole game becomes ****e, because thats what it's about. And I completely agree about starting with most of the parts, and some of the the best cars, whats the point, as you play through you win some old peice of crap. Most of the cars were redundant from the tart because you could pick these fast machines.

I thought it was a pretty fun game. I just dont like how they made the graphics. But it is awesome until you beat it. Im still not bored of it but my friends tell me i will be soon. Oh well.

My bro bought this game. He said it was really cool, because you could tune youre car and stuff. Ok, so I tuned up my car and went to race. Oh man, it was soo gay. Soo boring and stupid. That game is just a waste of money. Thats is not realistic and that is not racing. Its like "getting the cartoon on the right side of the road", I mean, darn boring.

A game don't need to be realistic. It can be fun anyway.
And btw , I loved the cartoon graphics.

It is a decent cheap second hand bargain game, that is extremely short. I will disagree that all the parts were available at the beginning, because although the basics were, the more advanced parts weren't.
All the powerful cars were available at the beginning, and if you weren't strong enough to resist their pull, then so be it.
