Lovely pictures! 👍

Pictures apparently print out small, so, unless we can capture the printer file, it's going to be tough getting posters made. Somebody will figure it out.

Otherwise, we may have to find a way of translating the picture save file, because it only has positional info. Small in size, for on-line viewing.

You can actually make the picture fit onto the page as a whole if your using XP.

Preveiw your image, then click the Print Wizard..

The city pictures are of Shibuya.

The bamboo forest pictures are of Sagano.

The old post village is Tsumago.

Notice the time of day difference at Tsumago! The Mini picture was darker.

Look for info on these to be near game courses.

San Marco/St. Mark's Square is now confirmed and it is in this Photo Mode, too.

Cheers,

There is a photo editing program, but its controls are not all known. Some at E3 played with it, so...

There is no word yet as to how difficult it will be to transfer pictures onto a computer, for printing, etc. Obviously somebody is doing it, for we see them here.

Ah so that explains those early screenshots of the Mini in the same ally as the Maclaren.

Bingo!

PD has kept very quite about some things and I expect to hear about some more surprises, closer to/after release.

It's outputting to the USB port to print, that means we can connect a USB straight through cable to our PC and capture the spooled file relatively easily I believe.

Some of the big game websites got to mess with Photo Mode and apparently did so in a room with wall to wall poster sizes pics, so it's possible.

With these "photo mode" locations, they can't be raced on, not even for testing? But, oh my... those pictures look almost like commercials on TV or car catalogs (you know, like from auto shows and at car showrooms). So if I photographed an Escudo Pikes Peak, would people stand around happy, or would they be running for dear life because of its power? Just a thought... (^_^)

By the way, I like the two city pictures at night. That's more like my favorite type of scenery, but I wonder what other environments would be made. A nice one would be your car going down the Laguna Seca corkscrew, and the camera is in front of your car as the dreaded corkscrew is in the background. THAT would make a nice picture!

You jump to many conclusions, very quickly.

Photo Mode

You are able to use a top-down POV to place the car and camera, etc., so the 16 special locations are set up with hi-res environments, to enhance the photo mode.

From what I gather, we will be able to print photos on/of normal-res courses, but I know no details.

"In addition to taking photos from your saved action replays,"

Can you say "photo finish"?
I know you can.

I'm a bit surprised that some of you are very excited about this feature. Don't get me wrong, the pics a great, but I don't think this feature of GT4 will be widely accepted. Myself included.

So, are you saying that we can directly link a PC with the PS2, to do this?

I know GT4 has the Photo Editor, but what is the link with XP?

The output res is: 1280x960

so you can print it (normal size photo) 15x11cm 216dpi

216 is not very much but it is enough i guess.. you better don't make a wall size poster tho ;)

i hope you can somehow transfer the image from PS2 to PC becouse 1280x960 is maybe not much for press but it is for web :D

so i guess people can show off with there best photo online,
and that's cool! :)

I think this is a great feature to have, With the amazing graphics and locations you could have a wall full of your favorite cars, in great quality, Seeing how if the raceing mods return it would be great to have your unique car online or on your wall, This may be a feature that evern may not use but its a feature none the less and I myself am very excited about it... Buy some photo paper, get a great quality printer and bam "realistc" i mean "photorealistc" photos for you to hang up or show your friends... 2 thumbs up....

I'm actually looking forward to it. I just hope that you can have a free camera in the final version.

One of the reasons we focused a lot on PM is that there wasn't a lot of other GT4 details made available. (Notice I said not a lot, not any. Geeesh!) Info is slowly getting collected, but PM has a fair bit of detail available.

Photo Mode will be a very expensive habit, for some.

Yes 216dpi isn't enough for printing a poster (up300dpi is better).
But you can always make a "collage" put together some of your cars and make photomontage in Photoshop! Cool :)

I think this feature is a great addition to the GT series, the game is about the cars, KY wan'ts it to be like a car encyclopedia and showcase all the models in the game, what better way to showcase them than let you choose a location and take some snap shots.

Looking at that image, look's like New York, if it is. Does that mean, after awhile of racing it get's dark? Or is that a night version of that track? I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the new features in Gran Turismo 4.

LOL... note the PD building:)
