I was doing the 9 hour endurance race on a spec and I only had half an hour left and then I had a power out and my ps3 turned off, I was so freakin mad. I still haven't tried completing it again. So my question is has anyone ever had bad luck like this while playing?

Many of times mate, nothing can be done just bite your Tongue and forget about it.

oh yeah this is a point we need the endurance save...

when i was running the 24h lemans there was a thunderstorm in the evening, i was really scared... but power was allways there i so had luck

I had a race where I was on lap 60 of 90 and I decided to restart for some unexplainable reason. It happens, just learn from it and don't do it again.

Lucky you man, I too had constantly played GT2 throughout a stormy and thunderous day a few years back, shortly after a large thunderbolt struck in the adjacent estate to my home, the lights all went blackout turning the screen of my TV off as well. Fortunately I was safe following that happening though.

I`ve had that happen a few times as well...Once I was 2:50 into the 4hr Nurburgring race but that was my fault for misinterpreting the pop-up window that appeared and once while racing the 24hr Nurburgring A-spec in GT4.In that one the power went out at the 9:30 mark...That was my worst GT moment by far.

Was 4h in the Suzuka 1000, perfect wheater (sunny day) pause the game, since obviously it also happen that I got a life beside GT5.
Old roomate wanted to test my 47" LG 1080p tv vs his girlfriend 27" tube tv.
He then proceed to power off the game to try his favorite game... which was NOT GT5.
Fortunatle now, I do live ALONE :dopey:

I had the final race of the DCC in the bag, then, the power blinked, but somehow the PS3 stayed on, I crashed a few times when waiting for the TV to warm back up. Lost the race despite PS3 staying on.

B-spec only.

Nurburgring 4h - 15 minutes before the end my PS3 froze
Tsukuba 9h - power out early in the morning (overnight B-spec)
Tsukuba 9h - went to bed and forgot to start the race :dunce:

Hi, I had that happen too a few times, the dreaded "Freeze". Make sure the disc is polished and the laser lens is cleaned (DVD cleaning disc) before you start an endoro. I also put "sticky bumpers" (the kind you use on picture frames) under my PS3 for more ventilation...seems to work...Never had a "power out"... yet...Have fun.

I think Toni Vilander and Jaime Melo had this same problem in their Ferrari at the start of Petit Le Mans when their Playstation suddenly crashed...

That's almost a bad as setting up multiple favorites in a lobby, and finding out the next time you play that you forgot to save. :ouch:

I've forgot to start on numerous occasions, I do like 10 remote races which auto start after loading but normal B Spec doesnt :)

Around 7 hours into my 9 hour tsukuba I pause for a 5 minute break, have a cup of coffee and stretch my finger back to a normal position, 5 minutes later I go back click X then realize my horror as it restarts, it was on the restart button D:

That is unfortunate indeed. A few weeks back, here in San Diego, there was massive power outage, I just completed the 24hr Nurburgring Endurance Race and the last few minutes, I had thoughts of a power outage. As of now, I am relieved that nothing unfortunate happened. I have finally completed all the Endurance races.

I feel for you mate, i once had a power cut qualifying for a race, it was Trial Mountain in 503BHP Xanavi GT-R, was 5/10 up :) at the long straight and was set for a low 16 and guess what.......damn powers gone:ouch:, very sad.

i was racing online, the loser of the race needed to send the car to the winner...
so i was with maserati gran turismo S. against a ford GT.
race for 20 laps on nascar track.
at lap 18 i could see the line for the last lap (i was leading by a half lap) the power went out..until i got online again that guy wasnt there..
i know its not good cars but still!

just wait for Endurance Save game.. I think it will be this October avalibe, as Kaz sayd theyre working on it 4 months ago!

I've lost two 24hr races the same way.
One at Lemans, with 16hrs complete and one at the Nurb with almost 16hrs complete.

Utterly ridiculous, not bad luck.

Online, its just unavoidable at times, but its inexcuseable to lose an offline endurance race to a power problem.

Booo..Hisss.

I have a feeling my wait will be over next Tuesday.

My first attempt of A-spec Le Mans i was 17 gours in when my ps3 was unplugged for a vacuum (too tired to spell right.) Needless to say i was pretty 🤬 off. But i got over it and got up the courage to try it again, which was succesful :)

I couldnt get to sleep, so i fired up gt5, decided to do the dreadfull indy 500, i was on lap 187 of 200, next thing i knew i was last, on the grass..... i fell asleep. Doh.
