your supposed to GIVE cars away not trade them this isn't an RCE* MMO it's bloody Gran Turismo (Hot Wheels for Grown Ups as I like too think of it )

You know, people actually do collect and trade Hot Wheels. Apparently, it pretty big in the south. I used to work at a Toys T Us and every Sunday there would be a bunch of (stereotypical nascar fans) digging through the Hot Wheels bin. I asked one what was up, and dude told me theres a whole Hot Wheels collecting scene.

I am looking forward to a day, perhaps a year or so down the line, when all that is left is the online game.

Imagine this scenario. You create a Lobby, and specify 395bhp, 1100kg, MR as the parameters. You want to use a certain car (it's great for this track), but you have upgraded it past the limit. Unless some sort of detune patch comes around from PD (which would make the whole point moot), if you have used the exploit, you have maybe three or four identical cars, all upgraded to different specs. If not, you have the ONE...

THIS, and this alone has been my main problem with this exploit. I could care LESS what you all do on your own time, on your own dollar. But when I go online, I want to feel that I am not placed at a disadvantage by those willing to exploit this loophole. That is all that concerns me. Play the game how YOU want. But when an exploit gives a decided edge to those that use it, and disadvantage those that don't, you ruin the BALANCE of the game. There is going to come a day when playing the same few A-Spec races against boringly predictable AI no longer satisfies you (mind you, maybe most that use this exploit probably will remain satisfied by the easy win, I suppose!), and you are going to think that playing online is the savior of this game. How will you THEN think about those with micro-tuned race garages that they obtained by exploiting the game save? When you have to enter Lobbies without the perfect car at the perfect spec?

I'll be interested in seeing how many of you now condoning this exploit (when you aren't abusing it like others) find that things have long-term consequences.

Oh, 🤬 it! I give up! If you can't beat them, cheat! I shall be using this exploit night and day from now on. I'll have multiple copies of every car, at multiple tunes and upgraded status... See you online!

I personally wouldn't be bothered at all? Reason? The timeline you gave.

A year from now, or heck, a handful of months from now, would be plenty of time to purchase and micro-tune a fleet of the same car if you felt the need. Personally, though, if I enter a room with an HP limit and the car I want to use is very slightly over... I pick one that isn't. Already my save has over 300 cars (and no, no duplications in this account) and the variety of modified cars means I have something for very nearly any limitations that could come my way. Would it be the absolute best car for the event? Probably not. But that gets boring fast (look at the Elise/Clio situation in Prologue).

I can see the point you're making... but it doesn't create much of an issue for me. Not only that, but you can always keep the car in your Favourites with minimal tuning done to it, but have all parts purchased, just not equipped. That way you can meet requirements if need be. Yeah, some things like weight reduction and engine tuning can't be reversed... though that makes sense to me since it mirrors the real world. Of course, here in real life, we can add ballast! Something PD seemingly forgot about after being a very handy addition in GT4.

Good for you Destinetkeys! I was going to point out how more people being able to race online in restricted races is a good thing but it seems you worked that out and realised you can do the same thing yourself.

That said it's not like we can go out and clone all our cars as we please due to the one gift a day so it is still pretty restrictive.

FWIW I haven't been able to use this yet, I don't have many PSN friends and I don't have many cars in my garage so I don't have much to offer others as a trade. I did however use my game save the other day when I moved my pedals and accidently bought an expensive car I did not want and I have regretted it since because I forgot that after I saved I had sent my Dodge Ram and 6 paint chips from my original account including a Matte Black paint chip. If I had remembered I would have taken the hit in credit because that paint chip was more valuable to me than the credit I lost. :(

Every girl in the world would be a Victoria's Secret catalog model

Nein nein nein nein nein!

I'd prefer a Tom Ford model, or just someone more classy than those Victoria Secret ones...

Let me explain this to myself.

We have a beautiful option created towards celebrating 100% free gifting of cars/tickets among friends.

It is beautifully socialistic, it laughs to neo-liberalist concept of "nothing in life is free: pay for everything" and it allows that friends can freely gift/exchange cars for their own good.

Then, we got and option to actually make a back-up of our save in order to protect a hard-earned progress.

Now, people found a way to use both combined in their own good, exploiting both option in order to produce contraband goods.

Now I understand. And I got an idea.

I will create 4 extra accounts on my console. I will make a "gift-chain" of cars needed for Seasonal Events only. And pass it around. In less than 10 days I will have 4 extra accounts with more than 5 million credits on it (20 million total) and than I will use 2 of those accounts only to buy new cars.

I will save additional 2 accounts as money-backup accounts for collecting the funds via future Seasonal Events.

With first 2 accounts - 5 million on each - I will buy every car I wanted and gift it to my initial account. And wait for another Seasonals to fill those accounts again.

Is it fair? You know, I have really driven those events and earn those moneyz, only not with my primary account. Am I a cheater?

I think Seasonal Events should be banned too, together with gifting feature.

No, now when I think about it, I do not think they should - I am certain.

And al this talking before has produced one important fact: there should be an option in online to force stock values of the cars. But I presume we will get it now or then. And yes, it is an offtopic. Sorry for that.

Amar I hope you are taking the mickey.

Surely if you don't agree with the idea of trading and how it's makes the rarer cars not so rare then it doesn't affect you as you obviously shouldn't care how desireable a car is or whether it has any trade value. Play the game for yourself and enjoy it and let others do the same.

I hear what your saying and it is a little irritating that their are exploitable glitches in the game. PG needs to take some of the blame for this, by pricing cars at 20 million with races that don't give enough cr's to build up towards buying them they were asking for people to find ways of cheating to obtain them.

I personally like having gifting. It allows me to tune cars for my friends, then send them to them, to help speed up their progress. I don't ever glitch the game even, because honestly, the expensive cars don't interest me for the most part.

It's PD's fault for making some tunes permanent, not including PP, and not letting us detune cars.

There is going to come a day when playing the same few A-Spec races against boringly predictable AI no longer satisfies you
The day I bought GT5.

(mind you, maybe most that use this exploit probably will remain satisfied by the easy win, I suppose!)
LOL

and you are going to think that playing online is the savior of this game. How will you THEN think about those with micro-tuned race garages that they obtained by exploiting the game save? When you have to enter Lobbies without the perfect car at the perfect spec?
Can't enter the prefect car now. But every online host right now can tailor the rules to their own cars. So duplicating helps this problem by making the hosts' rule setting abilities less powerful.

Oh, 🤬 it! I give up! If you can't beat them, cheat! I shall be using this exploit night and day from now on. I'll have multiple copies of every car, at multiple tunes and upgraded status... See you online!
Thank you (I'm serious). The more people do this, the less general online race restrictions will have to be. People will have more cars, and everyone will be able to do more types of races. I just wish there was an answer to the racing soft tire epidemic.

The OP has taken it pretty hard with this one.

this petition is garbage, if you dont like it, dont sign on to playstation network

I'm afraid I believe the whole 'Gifting' idea, now that save game data is unlocked, has become a total mockery. However, the alternative of locking the game save again is a FAR worse evil, IMO.

For the game to have any meaning, for ownership of hard to achieve or afford cars to be anything other than a joke, I believe we are left with only removing the 'Gifting' option as a solution.

Grinding A- or B-Spec (especially B-Spec, as it can be done completely hands-free) already allows anyone to achieve a full Garage with little or no effort. But cloning and gifting makes even THAT minuscule involvement moot.

If you want to share a tune with friends, you can write it down (there are fewer parameters that you can tune than older GT games or other racing games anyway... it's hardly a burden).

Please 'sign' this if you support returning a small measure of dignity to car achievement in GT5...

Thank you.

After a brief look at your post history I have determined that you believe it is your destiny to be the King of the Destin Whiner Babies

Your occupation is listed as musician. Could you make a song that embodies all of your GT5 moans, bitche$ and complaints? You could name it 🤬 you Kaz or PD or Sony... Whatever floats your boat. Maybe by the time you get 10mil YouTube hits you'll have Sony or PD's attention. Otherwise, stop wasting our time.

Yes been there done that, my son has several "expensive" car's i'e final runs etc (from when i was collecting them years ago) which i'm sure hot wheels collector's the world around would be upset about LOL 👍

He LOVES smashing them!

There is also an original irl dollar value from each hot wheels car as irl you have to buy them with real money, this initial dollar value then rises with age/cond/rareness, this is NOT the case with Gran Turismo and it's marketplace here...

*i'e no irl dollar value per car only game cost = different

*ALL car's ingame are available to EVERYONE in their game at some point and ultimately will only be rare, duping or not for a couple of month's after initial release...(and tbh that rarity was gone the 1st or second week of Dec)

Enjoy the game, build and paint your mate who is a lower level than you a rad car and surprise them, I just sent a mate a fully worked and painted 458 Italia last night who just opened the ferrari cup, he was STOKED... (in turn making me happy win all round)

Mulitple gift ticket's FTW

As long as the car is yours, you have the right to do whatever you want with it. It's a game, nothing is illegal other than using copyrighted stuff elsewhere.

The x2010 should never have been tradable, there should also be a limit that you can only trade cars of equal/or within 20% of each others value.

What is up with all the crying about gifting? or for that matter saving game data ? my 60gb ps3 died in august and I lost a lot of game saves as I didn't back them up . I keep reading how saving ,gifting and duping are ruining this game for certain people .you can't dupe a car UNLESS YOU HAVE IT , right? you still have to EARN EXP to LEVEL UP , right? I really couldn't CARE LESS how anyone else plays their game . Unless someone is cheating you online , what difference does it make how they play offline? I don't have an x2010 and have never seen one and I really don't care if anyone has duped 1000 of them. Those of you that are against game saves , YLOD does happen . Oh yeah , relax . IT IS JUST A VIDEO GAME .

That is great advice. That is cool you made your friend happy . Enjoy the game . :)

My thoughts exactly.
👍

this petition is garbage, if you don't like it, don't sign on to PlayStation network

While the duplicating of the X1 has become somewhat excessive, trading cars is still probably one of the game's biggest highlights. Not only is it fun, but it's a way of helping each other out. If you want to grind and save up for all the cars and don't want to trade for them, that's your choice. But some of us love getting rid of something we don't need that a GTP brother/sister needs in exchange for that elusive car that never shows up in our UCD. It's like a little piece of Christmas. But on the behalf of the 99.99% of us who enjoy it, I would just like to say that this "petition" is a *WORD(S) I CANNOT USE IN THE EVENT WOMEN OR CHILDREN ARE READING THIS THREAD*

The OP is so funny, lets remember this is a game geez... this isnt your life bud.
Everyone can do whatever they want with the game they purchased. Quit being a baby, we are all equal and have a right to drive what car we please in the game. Im sorry to say but there's alot of no it all's around here. Just enjoy what is given to you or throw it away.

Duping is good for the environment... That way you don't have to leave your PS3 on in b-spec.. Same result.. Less power consumed.. Less wear and tear on my ps3...

Seriously.. to the hardcore GT'ers... Why do you care how I get my favorite cars? I don't have the time/effort to play for 3 billion years to get all my favorite cars.. It's a GAME..... Not real life..

For those that "Grinded away" in b-spec.. Do you really have a sense of accomplishment? Thank Bob..........

this petition is garbage, if you dont like it, dont sign on to playstation network

but.. but... he won't get GIFTED CARS from PD/SONY!!

OP loves GT5 some much he'd die for it.

I don't see the point of this petition. They can grind all they want, but we all know that they aren't good racers. :P

Also, a lot of people who play this game will eventually receive a plethora of vehicles in time. So, it's dumb. Yep.
